What Israel is doing to the Palestinians right now is no different than shooting a cat in a box.
In other words, it’s not fair and is truly killing in cold blood. As one American pointed out this morning on C-SPAN, what the Israelis are doing is no different than if China’s military decided to storm Tibet using the $3 billion in weapons & gear given to China by America if that was the case! So true. It’s very lopsided and the Palestinians are an easy kill to the overarmed Israelis who are backed by the U.S. government. Oh, but that’s not going to stop the Israelis who think they are the victims in all of this! Yeah, yeah, this same kind of thinking is the one George Bush took against Saddam Hussein & Iraq over a big fat lie! Never once in my life was I scared of Saddam Hussein, but apparently, George Bush and his supporters spent many years holed up in their basements over him. At any time, we can make any Middle East country of our choice into a parking lot and to say that these countries are a threat to us is laughable. Yes, on 9/11, almost three thousand Americans were killed along with the demolishing of some very expensive buildings (owned by a Jew, of course), but has it been worth it to kill and to allow the killing/maiming/raping/torturing of a million Iraqis in response? No! In fact, it’s made many hate us even more for crying out loud.
Israel thinks it’s the victim against the mainly unarmed, starving, and hurting Palestinians. Oh please, Israel. Spare us your sob story. Let’s go back to the beginning, shall we? You said gawd promised you this land and ever since occupying it, you’ve not been very good neighbors to those you’ve displaced! This would be no different if in 60 years from now Americans are still occupying a part of Iraq and these Americans saying that they were given that land and the Iraqis must die for them to keep it! What would the world think of these Americans knowing full well it was the Americans originally who stole the land from the Iraqis in the beginning? Huh?
The Israelis are in the process of surrounding Gaza to go after Hamas, but they will ultimately be killing innocent Palestinians in the process…and have already. Almost 500 innocent Palestinians have died ever since Israel overreacted. Killing ‘the cat’ in a box is not impressive, Israel! In fact, it’s making you out to be a cold-blooded killer instead and it’s also making you out to be no better than your enemies at this point.
Israel needs to back off and if they truly want some peace, then they need to lay down their weapons of their well-armed US backed militia and start using some words from now on! Yes, take the cat out of the box and get to know why the cat crapped on your pillow why you were sleeping. Maybe you did something to provoke it? Hey, could be, but you will never know the real answer if you kill the cat, see?
And if we Americans find out Israel is taking such actions to help George Bush leave a big shit pile for Barack Obama to have to handle, we are not going to be happy.

Is Israel Going To Wipe Out Hamas?
No matter what you think of the current conflict between the Israelis and Hamas, it is clear that neither side seems willing to give even a little. Israel’s ability to outweigh Hamas in its attacks by what looks like a 15 to 1 margin may be justifiable in the face of rocket attacks from Gaza and Hamas’ refusal to accept Israel’s right to exist, but it will not end the conflict.
I was reading an article this morning by progressive Rabbi Michael Lerner. His perspective began with a comparison:

He goes on, however, to criticize Israel for the size of the assault which it made on Gaza after Hamas’ initial rocket attacks:
There was a short period of time when there was a real cease fire, but Lerner blames both sides in it’s collapse:
All of this, of course, with the Gazans vowing never to recognize Israel, even if a 2-state policy was actually worked out (this is an ongoing pain in the ass… however it made me think: what if the Sioux Indians swore never to recognize the United States as we defied treaty after treaty by settling on their lands and confining them to “Gaza-like” reservations? Wouldn’t we be in the same situation? It’s a good thing that situation happened in the 19th Century with 19th Century weaponry.)
Lerner outlines a seven-step solution that he proposes to solve the ongoing problem. You can view them here. He makes it clear, however, that Israel, being the greater power, really has to take the first positive actions.
I don’t believe it will happen. In the long run I have great sympathy for Lerner as he makes his final conclusion:

Kay, that video was posted on Liveleak this morning. It is Hamas propoganda. It is actually footage taken months ago when a pickup truck loaded with rockets exploded during a Hamas parade in Gaza.
Hamas handed it off to the AP, knowing they would reliably circulate it to every news agency, without scrutiny.
Liveleak and Youtube have pulled the video. Not even Al-Jazeera has it. It seems the only place you can view it now is on liberal web sites. Congrats Kate, once again you guy’s have been had and are helping Hamas spread their propoganda and kill their own people.
Notice at the beginning of the video you see a truck with a jihadi flag and then all of a sudden the video cut’s directly to the mayhem. you are right, the people of gaza are pretty much sitting ducks, Israel can kill as many as they want whenever they want. They can do this because America gives them billions, and arms them, and then unconditionally supports whatever they do.
Dont forget.. Israel has killed at least 500 people in a week, probably at least half of whom committed no crime other then living in Gaza. I am willing to bet the number of Israelis killed by the rocket attacks in the last year or years does not even come close to that number.

Good morning! I woke up this morning feeling the same way about Israel! The only difference is I feel the video that was circulating last night is more recent than everyone is saying. Why do I think that? Well, if you watch the video and get to the part where people are standing around the truck, the truck to me (on the second viewing) doesn’t appear to have been a truck bomb. It’s not on fire or contorted. The damage to this truck seems to be from an explosion near it. Also, there was an intensity last night to get this video out of the reach of Americans (apparently YouTube was actively deleting it and the trolls were out in force saying it was from 2005).
