What did you get for Christmas? Anything good?

Well, I finally got my wish and it was good: I’ve been banned from AMERICAblog! Oh yes. It was a dream come true when I got the email from Aravosis saying I wasn’t being very nice to one of the weak ducklings over there who thinks of herself as the Leader of the “Movement” and him saying that I’ve been banned. LOL! Even if I’m unbanned, I won’t be back. Why? I don’t care to hang out with those who make nice with the neocons/neoliberals. Nope. I’d rather slit my throat then to be kind to those who are users & backstabbers (Mirth) of fellow bloggers, who are fake (Karol), and who honestly don’t give a damn about the direction of the country, but rather, care more about the social scene online than anything else (all of them!).

Anyways…

My son got me out of bed at 6am on Christmas morning, and once the coffee was made and the presents were all opened, it was all over in an hour. Dammit. Why can’t it last longer than that for crying out loud!?! His ‘big present’ this year was an XBOX 360 along with the game, Skate (skateboarding). He was thrilled! He wanted a camcorder also, but because I couldn’t afford to do both, I had to choose the one I thought would make him the most happy and it was the XBOX. Besides, my parents gave him $125 and we decided that today we’d go to the local pawn shop to check out the camcorders. Who knows? Maybe he’ll find one…or…maybe he’ll end up with another electric guitar? Or maybe he’ll add pieces to the drum set my parents got him this year? I don’t know, but I do know between the two of us, we have lots of money to spend (I got close to $800 in Xmas bonus money this year….spend it on heating oil or spend it on myself/us? Huh. I think I know. LOL)! Woohoo!

Jasper had a good time on Christmas morning. He already knew what his present was, because he had taken it out of the bag on Sunday and played with it, but what the little bugger didn’t know was he also got a sack of tennis balls……..his favorite things! Well, there he was sitting on the floor of the livingroom after Momma had announced that she was going to get his present (I had to put it on the top shelf inside my clothes closet so he wouldn’t get it). When I came back with it and when he saw the stuffed animal with the squeaky toy inside (I had elasticized it to the wrapped bag of balls and put a blue boy on the belly of the toy) , he went absolutely ballistic! I’m not kidding you. I set it down on the floor and he went straight for the animal’s neck by shaking his head side to side to break it! After tearing through the paper, he finally was able to dislodge the toy and within 20 minutes he had torn it apart and produced the squeaky toy from inside the stuffed animal by placing it on my lap. OMG! It was so funny! Then there was the tennis balls….all over the house. He’s the kind of dog who will throw the ball himself so he can run after it if we’re not throwing it for him. He had the best time. The house became very hazardous with all those balls everywhere. :-)

We took the tree down (couldn’t wait…it had been up since the day after Thanksgiving) and then watched “A Christmas Story” two more times (well, of course, we did!). By the end of the day, we were stuffed with ham and all the fixings and I couldn’t keep my eyes open past 8pm. I was exhausted, though, I woke up this morning with tons of energy. Woohoo! Let the shopping begin!

What did you do yesterday? Have any fun stories to share? Get anything good? What are your thoughts as we move towards the New Year? My friends and I are going out this weekend as a pre-New Year’s celebration in Portland. Can’t wait to see them all! We’ve not been able to meet up for months now because we’re all so busy, but we are bound and determined to do it this time around, of course, we’re still debating if it will be Friday or Saturday. LOL Hey! Life throws curveballs sometimes and you just have to deal with it, right?

Have a great day today and be thankful you didn’t receive a Christmas card like THIS. Oh man! Creepy, yet funny as hell.

Sad news yesterday. CowboyNEOK’s (he and I have known each other forever online and he’s the one who brought me over to AMERICAblog years ago) father died on Christmas Day. Sad, sad, sad. Here’s what he said in an email to me and others:

“My father, Jim Beauchamp, passed away at 4:00 am
    Christmas morning.

I am grateful we were able to experience some closure
the afternoon before his passing via telephone. I was
able to assure him of my unconditional love, which was
important to me, because of our contentious
relationship. He was not able to accept me, and had
disowned me until about two years ago because of my
    being gay.”

His father was an MLB player (images follow) and CowboyNEOK tried real hard to get his Dad to understand his life. But! Cowboy is loved by me and everyone else who knows him because he has the BIGGEST heart on the planet. It warms my heart that Cowboy was there by his father’s side regardless of their relationship. That speaks volumes of who he is.

It would be wonderful if you all could give Cowboy some love today! Thank you. :-)

Cowboy, I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. God bless.

My condolences go out to cowboy and his family.

What did I get for Christmas?

Well, let’s see. My son got a flat screen t.v. to use with his game system. I got the bill for that. My wife got some nice perfume, a new tweed overcoat, and a bracelet. I got to pay for that. My in-laws came for dinner, which I paid for. And helped cook. Hmmmm. Well, I got to take a nap in the afternoon. And, as I usually do when I buy my wife something nice,…
    …I got laid.

OH! And I got this! The neocons are eating their own babies! Look:

  5. Gage says:

Kay, I’ve tried to leave a post twice now telling you what I got for Christmas (which was basically nothing but the bills, a nap, and a quick roll in the hay), but I think somebody has been fiddling around with your site’s watchamacallit settings or perhaps the dumaflotchie knobs. I’d check if I were you. My guess is DHS is targeting your site. Probably put a mole in your control room. If you catch him, waterboard that son of a bitch for me, will ya? I want to know if I’m on the No-Fly List. I’m planning to go to Ireland this summer and I don’t want to find out ten minutes before boarding time that I ain’t going.

The best Christmas present is the one I got this morning from the GOP. They’re eating their own now! Look:

    http://marcambinder.theatlanti.....rushbo.php

    http://www.anncoulter.com/

And what the hell is whoever gets the GOP nomination going to do when it’s time for Bush to endorse him? You know that’s gotta be on their minds. “Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssseeeeeee, don’t endorse me!!!! I want to win!!!!”

Love watching these bastards turn on one another!

  6. wow, you were banned from AMERICAblog Kay? That really sucks.

i didnt get anything for christmas, i think im gonna get a couple gift cards in a few days though, so thats good.

  7. grantinhouston says:

I got mostly books and magazine subscriptions for Xmas as I am “hard to buy for”! My partner and I don’t gift at Xmas so much as we gift all year long….when we see something needed at the time, don’t wait until December. He gave me some nice warm slippers and my sister gave me a down cover for my bed which is almost too warm for our climate. However, we have had a cold snap, with temps getting down into the 40′s and 50′s these past few nights, so both gifts have kept me warm.

My best gift was from my wealthy Republican brother…a cruise to Alaska next summer. Long ago I set a goal of visiting all 50 states and Alaska is the only place I haven’t seen. My brother likes cruise ships and gifted my partner and I last year with a cruise around Hawaii, and the year before, a Western Caribbean cruise. He also made sure I attended our family reunion in Germany last May as he and my sister were both going and didn’t want me to be left out. My widowed sister is comfortable too and has been to Europe 3 times in the past 5 years. Both she and my brother feel I got cheated out of my golden years retiring from school teaching with its lousy pension. They try to make up for my impoverished state ensuring that I don’t get left out. I am also thankful to my partner, whose military pension is 3 times bigger than mine, helping me out without making me feel like a begger.

  8. Gage says:

And the Weekly Standard — the breeding ground of Neoconia — gave me this for Christmas:

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/.....0pavrk.asp

See, they are scared to death of Huckabee. But the Religious Right loves his butt! This is so funny!!

  9. kayinmaine says:

My gawd Grant! You had an awesome Christmas! :-) Well, you deserve it…a lot. And Chris…sorry to hear you didn’t have a typical Christmas this year, but like you said, times are tough right now. Now that I’m banned for Ablog, I’m sure Mirth and Karol will take care of you financially…just make sure you say, “I hate Kay!” a lot, okay? Words like that will fill your bank account faster than cyber cookies being baked for the reich trolls over at Ablog! See? LOL

Gage, thanks for the links. Wow!

  10. kayinmaine says:

Awww, how cute. Fresno, California & Albuquerque, New Mexico paid my blog a visit in the last hour or so:

    From SiteMeter…

Gee, now I wonder why that is? I know! LOLOLOLOLOL And they each stayed a total of 9 seconds in the same 15 minute time frame. How cute.

  11. kayinmaine says:

“(which was basically nothing but the bills, a nap, and a quick roll in the hay)~Gage”

Oh my, Gage. Was it good for you too? LOL! Well, hey, what’s a Christmas without a one night stand? LOL Love that. :-)

  12. Gage says:

Kay, did you catch the infiltrator? Waterboard him when you do. Not kidding!

  13. kayinmaine says:

Done! *still pouring water into his nose as we speak* Nice, huh? The funniest part…he doesn’t seem to be enjoying this technique at all. I wonder why? Huh.

  14. kayinmaine says:

Oh, I get it now, Gage! You had sex with your wife (your comment above was in the spam catcher and didn’t read it until now…ooopsie). LOL Oh man, I think I’m still tired from the holidays. It totally wears me out!

Sounds to me like you’re a great Dad and husband. Nothing wrong with that! Not many left on the planet like you. ;-)

  15. molly says:

I got banned from Ablog and Kos…something about my asking *Did ya’ll take money from AIPAC or something.” Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Kay in Maine bloggers and esp. the ever unpredictable and funny Kay herself….and family.

  16. kayinmaine says:

Molly, nice to hear you’re gone too! LOL! Oh well. Apparently, if you go against the grain and don’t conform (or give a lot of money to the owners!), you get the boot. Guess what? I’d rather not participate in that kind of thing. I don’t see how the assholes over there can say they don’t like it when lobbyists schmooze with the republics & the Democrats when they too are participating in the same kind of lobbying! Then there’s the fragile egos. Man! Strong progressives are the ones who hide under the bed and run to Daddy to get others to fight their battles? Wow! No thanks. I don’t want to be around that either.

Molly, I hope you have a wonderful New Year too! I honestly don’t see much change happening if any of the republics running for the presidency get in or if one of the top 3 Democratic candidates gets in. Nope. I see more of the same. Sad.

  17. Ox says:

My Christmas present this year was to ban Ablog because am sick of Karol talking about democracy and getting her hair done before flying to DC.

  18. Randy says:

Kay, I’m sorry to hear John banned you. I wondered why I hadn’t seen you comment in a while. Your voice over there was every bit as relevant as everyone else’s and without yours, I now have less reason to read the comments there at all. My biggest irritation on that site is the people who advise others to ignore the trolls but don’t take their own advice. I know you visit other sites, some much more influential than John’s and I look forward to your comments on those, as well as your posts here.

Sounds like you, your son and Jasper had a nice Christmas! Mine was almost totally devoid of the commercialism America has become other than good food and good drink. The everyday company of the most significant person in my life makes every day seem like Christmas. I have all I need or want. I wish that for everyone!

  19. kayinmaine says:

LOL Ox. It does get a tad boring, doesn’t it? If she is the face of progressivism then count me out! Gawd. Mirth is just as bad. She’s a snake in the grass. Ohhhhhh, she appears to be nice and will even post her email so everyone can email her, but what she ends up doing is nothing but backstabbing and will reek havoc. Hey! It’s how she survives. She’s really not a nice person. If you lurk over there, read her comments sometime. Her behavior is the same on every blog. I’m not the only blog owner who she has gone after. She loves going after liberal bloggers because she wants to be the one with the largest blog. Going after her own is cinchy for her. She’d never do that on Redstate or Little Green Footballs! Nope. Too hard and scary for her.

Oh well. I’m not going to focus on that part of the Internet anymore. I’m done with it. :-)

  20. kayinmaine says:

Ox, one other thing: Karol stated the other day that drug users don’t rob homes or businesses to support their habit. Nope! They just want silver and VCRs! LOL She said that it was a lie that drug users do this. Who is this person and why is she calling herself a progressive? LOL OMG, she is just like George Bush…far removed from the reality of things. Wow.

Randy, you don’t have to NOT go over there just because I was banned! Silly. There are lots of people over there I’ll miss chatting with, one of which is Mr. Dave of the Jungle. Gawd that man makes me howl! I love how he can narrow it down with one sentence. Sometimes one sentence can be powerful, but according to the Queens of Ablog, power comes in the form of a couple of links, pasting paragraphs from it and then making a short comment about all of it. Wow! Anyone can do that….shhhhhhh don’t tell them I said that. They would die a hundred deaths if they knew it doesn’t take an IQ of 150 to do what they do! LOL

  21. kayinmaine says:

Randy, so happy to hear that you have a person in your life who makes everyday worth it! Treasure that, my friend. It’s all that matters in the end, right? The size of the house and getting ones hair done is not. :-)

  22. Gage says:

So I checked out Americablog. That’s not the sort of site I get banned from. I go straight for the throats of the pure-dee, unadulterated, redneck neocon sites with no fluff. I’m talking the sort of sites where if you were to say, “Hey, I hate Muslims’ guts and want to rip them out and shit on them, then, burn the corpses, but I still think they are human” somebody would post back: “Fuck you, you filfthy liberal! Whatdaya mean they’re human?”

That’s the kind of waters I troll. ‘Cause I’m a real man. You guys are lightweights.

    Americablog, indeed!

  23. Randy says:

Kay,… ok, ok… I’ll sneak over there once in a while and read the comments. *chuckle* True, there ARE still some very interesting people although as I’ve mentioned before their numbers are fewer and fewer. I guess what surprises me most about John is he doesn’t seem to realize or mind that the “youknowwhos” drive people away left and right. I gave up trying to convince people to come back and comment like they used to. Some of them came back for a little while…

Let me know if you want me to blogwhore for you over there and as John puts it “drive traffic your way.” You wouldn’t have to ask twice.

  24. Ox says:

I have noticed a lot of people are missing from Ablog and am beginning to think that the ownership has thrown in their cards with the establishment or at least wants to make it politically correct.

  25. Randy says:

It’s true Ox! Some of the most interesting people I’ve seen comment started dropping off after a few of John’s “faux pas” back in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

I don’t remember all the incidents but people really got over him and his Katherine Harris, Cynthia McKinney, Chief Illiniwek, “Big Gurl” and a few other posts that I don’t remember.

  26. UFL says:

ABlog, just wants those who like mindless banter. You know, people who tell everyone one where they are traveling eight or nine times in two days, people who talk about cookies and wine, people who talk about how beautiful the moon is, or what their granddaughters name is.

Of course John also protects these people from others who question their integrity and lack of knowledge. ABlog although it does have some excellent commentors is ruined with the bullshit small talk, ass kissing, phoniness, etc, etc by a few whose only goal is to be liked by everyone else. Hell one of the queens accused me of threatening her which of course was untrue and her usual way of portraying herself as an innocent victim so that all of her cyber friends will rush to her defense. Then when things are exposed about her she cuts and pastes others comments and send them to her lawyer friend Johnny A-hole so he can ban the offender of the ABlog queen.

  27. kayinmaine says:

Randy, please don’t do any blogwhoring on my behalf. Why? It will drive the Monsters over here. LOL! I’m turning over a new stone, dammit.

Ox, I think it’s that and I also think it’s because those who don’t want to rattle the reich wing cages and who are supporting one of the top 3 Democratic candidates have an in with John. Dennis Kucinich IS the only progressive on the Democratic side and he would force the reich wingers to speak loudly in defending their stance on the war. The top 3 Dems are a lite version of the republicans and in the end aren’t really an opponent of them. Again, no rattling of cages and everyone has to be nice to each other…especially with the neocons! Fuck that. I’d rather slit my throat than be that kind of nice. LOL Who knew today’s progressives aren’t risk takers! Oh please.

Like I’ve been saying, whoever wins next year is not going to force change. We’ll be on the same course for sure and who will they blame? Nancy? Probably. Hey, they could never blame themselves. Oh no.

  28. UFL says:

Kay I’ve often wondered what Queen Karol thought about Johns post about Chief Illiniwek. No doubt she thinks using native American names for sports teams is okay, as she will turn on her own people just to be liked by everyone else.

Oh and I’m glad you caught her moronic comment about the arguement that drug users rob to support their drug habits is “bogus” Wow what an ignorant, out of touch bitch she is. Makes one wonder if she ever talks to her prosecuting attorney husband ever as it seems she is either at ABlog or teaching classes or baking cyber cookies for the unruly slobs or anyone else who believes her bullshit and befriends her.

  29. kayinmaine says:

Randy, when John threw the transgendered under the bus, Karol and other Cookie Cutters over on Ablog all went over to the Unruly Snobs to lambaste John about it. (I never lambasted John, but I did say over and over on Ablog that I supported the transgendered being included in the ENDA legislation). And guess what? These jerks all hang out on Ablog and use his blog to blogwhore! Incredible. Again, tired of it and I’m glad I’m banned.

I emailed John a couple of times in the last month or so asking him to ban me and he wouldn’t. Hell, I even posted Ablog/John’s email address many times in many threads asking to be banned. Well, I finally got what I wanted! I feel spoiled now. LOL

  30. UFL says:

Randy you can say hi to Karol for me… ;) Tell her I offered to smoke um peace pipe with her and bury the hatchet with her. :)
Thats okay though I cannot stand phony ass people.

  31. UFL says:

lol Ox!!!! yes you are right! Karol sharing her pathetic life at ABlog is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. Who the fuck cares where she is going, what she is cooking, the name of her grand daughter, which by the way is Julieanne? Which makes me wonder if that is her middle name and if her first name is Rudy?

  32. UFL says:

Kay it’s funny because Karol commented at ABlog that I was bashing ABlog over at WNI yet she failed to mention all those from Unruly Mob who were bashing ABlog.

  33. kayinmaine says:

Uncle Fester, the reason why I FINALLY got banned is because Karol had made yet another statement about her “native American connections”. She said her great-great-great-great-great grandmother was pushed off her land, so I said to Karol in part, “Oh, so this means no one can ever question you because of this?”. She does hide behind it. I wonder how her ancestors would feel knowing she married a Jewish man and is “living high off the hog” (or so Karol says and implies)? I wonder. I then asked her what she was doing to get the Native Americans out of poverty. Well, that did it! LOL One of them grabbed their blanky and ran crying to John! Good. I don’t take a word of it back.

And don’t forget Uncle, she said her activism is no one’s business! Huh? Well, I suppose when you make shit up and get caught lying about your activism, it is not nice to ask about her activism, correct? Hey, it’s none of your business, Uncle! By the way, the 1st Friday of January is coming up. Hmmmmmm…..

  34. kayinmaine says:

Uncle, Karol is the Poster Child for Hypocrisy! Would you look at her go! LOL

Remember, this all started after the 2006 election. She and Erin (along with the trolls which they would side with against me by agreeing with what the trolls were saying) would attack my personal life by calling me a bad mother or what have you. Then when I started asking direct questions to Gregory Lyons, suddenly, Karol and the Cookie Cutters became the Ablog Fag Hags and decided to defend Gregory to the death. Then! LOL They couldn’t handle it when I came on strong back against them by pointing out their hypocrisy or saying how fake they are. They just want to be the Queen of Ablog! Well, let them. Let them continue to bore the readers to death over there. I’m serious. I read their comments and I think, “Gawd, they must suck at a party. I bet they come into a party talking about themselves, you know, how their home is better, how their clothes are better, and how they’ve gone to the best places in the world”….and say all of this without even talking with another person at the party! Bores.

  35. UFL says:

Kay, Karol claims her great, great, great, great, great grandmother died on the trail of tears and left a 4 year old son. Now I could do the math but Karol is 50 something, the trail of tears happened in 1838-39 so you do the math. Do the numbers of a great, great, great, great, great grandmother on the trail of tears add up, to me it seems she would be around for the late part of the 1700′s and would have been oh around 90 with a 4 year old in 1838-39. Correct me if I’m wrong.

  36. UFL says:

Oh I remember Kay. You were butting heads with one of their glorious club members you know. I see Karol as an elite who lives a very comfortable life and would never threaten that by ever attending protests with the peasants, oh no, she will just post her bullshit comments about her so called activism and people will bow to her because she is the self proclaimed Queen of ABlog and Johnnies little angel.

  37. kayinmaine says:

I don’t know a thing about it, Uncle. Ask Karol! She knows everything and when she doesn’t she just makes shit up to make herself feel better and look good! All I know is when the going gets tough for her, she’ll suddenly fall into the victim role, you know, “Karol’s great-great-great-great-great grandmother died/or was pushed off her land so we have to be nice to her now! Karol is suffering!”. Oh please. *gagging myself with a lawn mower blade* She’s something else. Anyone who loves Karol only loves Karol because Kay and Karol don’t get along. That’s it! No one could possibly read the diatribe that comes out of that woman’s mouth and say, “Gee, she’s great. I could hang with her forever! She’s so stunningly fun to be with!”. LOL I’m serious. I’d have more fun beating my head with a window against the sill than I would talking with her.

  38. UFL says:

lol Kay yes and she also said she owes me nothing!! LMAO! She could be the last woman on earth and I wouldn’t touch her with a 10 ft totem pole.

  39. UFL says:

The other part of her hypocrisy is when I mentioned I saved some of her moronic comments and she said it was creepy, when a couple of months ago she said she was doing the samething with some of the comments I’ve posted about her. I of course was kidding, just to get a hypocritical comment out of her, and of course I caught her again.

  40. kayinmaine says:

Karol is an elitist. She’s exactly the type of person the reich wingers were calling liberals for years now. She is exactly that! Embarrassing…oh…but she and Mirth and the others see themselves as the face of progressivism because they support pretty-boy John Edwards! Yep, the guy who sees 2-Americas but yet lives in a humongous house and gets very expensive hair cuts. He’s right up their alley! On the other hand, the non-elitist Dennis Kucinich lives in a humble home, you know, the home where he grew up and where all his memories of life are. Gee!

  41. kayinmaine says:

Don’t say “totem”, Uncle! You’re making Karol (who is obviously lurking over here and will be forever to report back to the Slobs she calls her friends) suffer for crying out loud! Of course, if Gregory Lyons named his cat “Totem” she’d say, “Wonderful! You’re glorifying my rich history and you all know that I am the only one who has this rich history! It’s all about me!”. LOL

Oh gawd. I could go on forever about this!

Believe me, Uncle. There are lots of “Fresno, California” hits to my blog. This is why I have SiteMeter for my blog….to see who comes and visits. Love it!

  42. UFL says:

Well Kay I believe that is why John protects her all the time, because she, like him hate Kucinich and support the corporate whores who represent their interests. As for mirth, I am confused by her. There was a similar club over at C&L in which she had a falling out with and was banned, So instead of being a progressive she joins another club like the previous one she had a falling out with. She is another one who comments with more than one identity. Green Lib is another one of the shit starters who gets a free pass and uses anonymous a lot to attack others. If you ever want a great laugh read his profile, he’s divorced, yet chivalrous, and adds he likes performing oral sex on women….this of course must be something he didn’t perform on his ex!

  43. UFL says:

yeah Kay I could go on but I should stop. I just had to vent because she makes my stomach turn with her phoniness, God I hope she doesn’t get us banned here for being mean to her. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Have a good night Kay! Keep on doing what you are doing! You make a difference in this f**ked up country! Unlike the PC warrior activists out there.

  44. UFL says:

One last comment….Can you guess where I wanted to bury that hatchet??? ;)

  45. cowboyneok says:

Kay, thank you for posting about my father’s passing.

    I really appreciate it.

    LOVE YOU!

    -Tim “cowboyneok”

  46. kayinmaine says:

LMAO! In her ear?   Oh my, I think not.

Mirth is dangerous. That right there pretty much sums her up.

It’s Green Lib and others who use ‘anonymous’ and then have the audacity to say that I use that name. Sorry! I’m always KayInMaine and nothing else.

Hey, it’s good to vent and we aren’t being hypocrites because we’ll never go back there. They’re the ones who are hypocrites who go over to the Unruly Snobs and lambaste John and then come to John’s blog, Ablog, and be all nice to him, blogwhore, and use it as their nightly social gathering, which is driving away those who take politics seriously. He doesn’t understand the dynamics of what is going on either, so that is not helping. I’m not going to explain it to him. He’ll have to figure it out on his own. It’s too bad.

Anyways, have yourself a great evening, Uncle! Tomorrow it’s back to the grind. :-)

Hi CowboyNEOK, I love you too, my friend! So sorry to hear about your father. I can’t even imagine losing one of my parents, but it will inevitably happen at some point. Stay strong, Cowboy, and know that your being with your father at the end speaks volumes of who you are on the inside. Your father took your love with him! That’s a beautiful thing, Cowboy.

    Love you too….lots. :-)

Kay, if your sitemeter shows all the hits to your blog check the ones around 4 – 4:30pm. At 4:25pm “Winston Barge” thought it necessary to inform the A-Bloggers what was going on over here. His comment was in the “Bush mixed legacy” thread.

I won’t keep going on and on about the commenters over there but I feel a little bit of empathy for Karol and her ancestors on the Trail of Tears. I wonder if I ever told her that some of my ancestors were killed outright for steadfastly refusing to leave their land in 1830? *writing myself a note to tell Karol*

Nevermind. *tearing up my note and round-filing it*

Randy, I believe your history more than I will ever believe Karol’s history. If you read her comments she parrots what everyone else is saying. She’s every woman, Randy! Yep, just like Oprah. I like to think of Karol as Ablog’s Saturday Night Live’s Penelope who will always come up with something better or a better story than the people she talks with. Can’t stand that!

She uses her history to get sympathy. That’s not right. She also stated one time that her cousin is Billy Bob Thornton, who used to be married to Angelina Jolie. I’m thinking, “If that’s the case then why aren’t you superstars forming protests against Nancy Pelosi then?!”. I honestly don’t believe much that she says. She posted a picture of herself recently and said it was current, but just a few months ago she had short hair (in the picture it was long). She had to admit that the picture was at least five years old.

    Sad. It really is.

Okay, I’m going to bed. Have a good night. :-)

A very nice writeup.Obviously delightful to any reader.Festivities on the occasion around I somehow feel reminded of what PB Shelley wrote ‘…Smiling they live and call life pleasure, To me that cup has been dealt in another measure’. Smiles are there, there are tears too, unions are there and there are equally pangs of seclusion. Much depends as to which type of a cup of tea is one’s share. Wish you a very very HAPPY NEW YEAR. neelkanth

Thank you, Neelkanth! It’s all how you make it, isn’t it? Hope you have a wonderful New Year as well. :-)

I received this t-shirt for Christmas, sadly a day late or I would have worn it on Jesus’ birthday

LOL Shane. Great shirt! Hell, I wished I had it to on Jesus’ “birthday”. ;-)

Ellen Degeneres did a bit yesterday (a repeat) about annoying “me-tooers” starting out with one person saying, “I went sky-diving” followed by a SNL-like “Penelope” saying, “Yes I know, as I was above you watching from my private blimp!” to which the the first person said, “Well, I was watching your blimp from my own private space station,” to which the other me-tooer replied, “Well, I could see your space station from my own private planet.”

I post on various blogs and now only hitting ABlog a couple times a week (just posted there now after a two-day hiatus). I am not part of the chat room there and try to post most of the time on-topic. I often notice nobody comments on my postings as if I had butted in on some important gourmet chocolat or wine conversation, but then I am primarily posting to give information to any interested lurkers who may be out there. I stay out of the recipe swapping. If you go back into the archives to early 2005 when I first posted there, you will find that even at 3 a.m. folks were on topic and discussing serious stuff. Something happened. The other day somebody posted how they missed the banned Gregory Lyon’s “intelligent discussion”. Yeah I remember his “dialogues” with me…..after I would submit a lengthy post (WITH LINKS even!) his intellectual response to me would be a simple, “That’s bullshit!” So I quit even acknowledging his presence. There is no real conversation with somebody who is always right.

Kay has given me a “home” here the two times I have been banned there in the past year and a half. Even though I don’t always agree with Kay, I have never been “attacked” by her either here or over at ABlog but then I don’t intentionally try to goad her. I know Kay is fighter and she won’t cotton to being insulted. She especially likes to “slice and dice” trolls.

I was one of the original ten in the “unruly mob” (seven of us soon quit for good reasons!) but never go there anymore as I never was really one of the intelleckshul kool kidz. I may be wrong but I feel political blogs should be basically political. However, if one wants a chat room, they are all over the internet.

  55. Randy says:

Grant, I’ve always valued your comments and links on ABlog, and although I’ve not always had something to add, I suppose I should’ve acknowledged them one way or another. I can tell you for a fact there are plenty of people who don’t comment anymore who were around in the beginning when the comment threads were more on topic for longer periods of time. For those of us who don’t comment much anymore I hope you’ll continue to regularly drop in and leave your insight. Some of us still “lurk” and read. I myself, have gotten where I scroll past most of the commenters looking for the interesting people — you and Kay and Chris and a few others are on that list.

Off topic (lol), I want to apologize to those of you who might’ve been offended by my comment I made about the Bush family being Nazis. I really can’t stand that family with a passion and got carried away a bit.
