WHITE NOISE INSANITY

What should be simple has become a “nightmare”.

This past summer I did two things before I got real busy with buying my new home: I purchased my domain and then purchased a blog hosting company for my blog, so I could put advertisements and fundraising boxes on it (WordPress.com does not allow this code onto any of the blogs unless the blog is hosted, but WordPress.org does). Well, sounds simple enough, but what is happening is all files from April 2007 to the post below about Sen. Suzie-Q and her dumbass blogger, will not transfer to the new host. All other posts will, but for some reason these ones won’t! As you can see, all of those posts from that time period are here, but when I use the import/export function, I get an error message saying the “file is empty”, when it’s clearly not. When I was working off the new host, all files from my old WNI WordPress.com blog were not available online for viewing.

The “best” part of all this? When friends online like Mainefem or NYTexan (thank you both so much!) would send me links to directions to help me out or if WordPress and my host company did, I still couldn’t figure it out! It sucks not being computer savvy. It’s very frustrating to say the least.

Not sure what I’m going to do from this point forward. I do know my new home and personal life needs some much needed attention right now. The holiday season is coming up and I know I so badly want to enjoy it, and to do that, I’m feeling the need to take a break from political blogging for awhile, so I can enjoy it all! I’ll still be attending democratic functions here in my state (some are planned for November, such as a Virtual Fundraiser for future US Senator Tom Allen, and the democrats in my county are having a “sketti” (spaghetti) dinner too) and will probably come online to share it with all of you, but the day to day grind stuff, I’m going to stop until I feel rested enough to pick it up again. I still have lots of painting to do inside my home and want it to be “perfect” for when we put our tree up, so I need to get crackin’.

Next year is going to be one hell of an election year and if I’m feeling then the way I’m feeling now, I’m going to be useless! That said…I will be lurking from time to time on my favorite blogs to read what the democrats are doing and saying. Right now I feel such a disconnect from the “progressives” online. The constant banter of “impeachment” and the negativity is really pissing me off. Who the hell wants to be part of a team where a section of it is off in the corner crying and sulking about shit that ain’t gonna happen! It’s such a downer. Jane Hamsher of FireDogLake did a wonderful piece recently that tackled this very issue. Democrats need to start forming their strong voice TOGETHER again and focus on going forward to kick the republicans out of office next year, who are blocking and protecting the current crop of criminals in the White House and who think the US Constitution is nothing but a gawddamn piece of paper (like Sen. Susan Collins does!)! We know what crimes and atrocities were committed by the Band of Thugs in the White House. We don’t need a prison sentence to justify what we already know. Okay?

I want to recommend this book for everyone to read while I’m taking a break: Framing the Debate by Jeffrey Feldman. We need to be the ones who are framing the debate right now…..and not the republicans! Americans are sick of the voice of the republicans. We will not be able to frame the debate if we are stuck on crap that is fruitless and not progressive. The End.
