We all have at least one person in our lives who is a highly paid CEO of a company. This person may not be earning what the CEO’s of the banks, AIG, the car companies, the oil industry, or the health insurance companies are earning, but nonetheless, they are making way more money than you could ever dream of making and are in a powerful position to boot. I have one such person in my life and when one of his 6 paper warehouses burnt for 4 days a year ago around the holidays, I knew how he would react to his employees, who along with the firemen, tried to put the fire out, because they knew they (the employees) would be jobless if they didn’t save it. Well turns out the building was a total loss, but I did not lose faith in my cleaning customer who owns the business, because I knew how he was as a person. He made sure all of his employees still had a job because he cared about them and their families. He paid them to help in the clean-up (as much as they could do anyway) and right now as you read this, they are currently employed within the company either at another warehouse or in some kind of capacity. Not one employee went without a paycheck! My customer made sure his employees were taken care of despite the huge loss and hassle he was experiencing on his end. To me, this is the difference between a good CEO and a bad CEO.
A bad CEO doesn’t give a shit about the employees, their investors or their customers! When was the last time you heard of a large CEO of a bank making sure the financial products they’re offering wouldn’t collapse the company to benefit himself and his insiders on Wall Street? Huh?
The Bad CEO’s of today are the bank executives who ran their companies into the ground by taking huge risks on the backs of American retirees and others. They used the retirees’ money to gamble with to make themselves more money. In the process, over $600 TRILLION in derivatives/CDS was created out of thin air. And who suffered? The American people. And who benefited without regard to the American people, their livelihoods, and who felt the American people should come to THEIR rescue, when it was they themselves who caused the whole catastrophe? That’s right….THE CEO’S of these companies. The thieving shysters didn’t give a shit for their employees, their customers, or even for the stability of Wall Street and our country’s economy. They selfishly thought about themselves and their needs first and then had the gaul to take more of our money to bail them out when they failed the company on purpose.
President Obama is correct. No one likes the idea of over paid athletes or CEO’s who do bad things but get rewarded anyway, but we all know this is the nature of the beast here in America. Capitalism promotes this kind of thing: PROFIT OVER PEOPLE. As George Bush once said, “Money trumps peace” and he was so right, because this is the mantra of the fascist capitalists! They don’t care if they have to bomb the shit out of innocent people to make large amounts of money (use it to launder money from the American taxpayer too!) or take huge financial risks on the backs of the American taxpayer, because their final line is all about stealing as much money as they can without working to make the money. Working hard is not part of capitalism. The employees work hard, but it’s the people at the top of these companies who are the ones who are creating huge financial bubbles knowing full well the people at their companies and the American taxpayer will be the ones to save their asses. Nice huh? BAD CEO’S.
President Obama is trying to put some integrity and trust back into our financial system, but as you’ve noticed, Wall Street hates the idea. My fear is if Obama comes down too hard on the whiny ass titty babies, they will do what they did in September of 2008, which was, AN ELECTRONIC RUN ON THE BANKS where A HALF TRILLION DOLLARS WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE MONEY MARKETS IN 90 MINUTES. This move almost collapsed our financial system and George Bush’s answer to it was to BAIL OUT THE BANKS. Was their an investigation done on where the money went and did anyone ask to trace back to the perpetrator? Nope. Nothing was done. Well, this sort of thing can be done again. Wall Street appears to have a gun to the American people’s head again and one false move by our President or others could cause these selfish people to do that once again!
Miss him? Are you kidding me? His policies will continue to hurt our country for a very long time! We hate the man actually. Most of us would like to see him and Dick Cheney at the Hague for their war crimes trials!
The only people who miss George Bush are the ones who still can’t believe there’s an African American in the White House! They want to go back to the good ole days where white republicans threw our nation into depression (just like all republican presidents do!) They don’t care what George Bush did to our country and to this day blame Bill Clinton and Barack Obama for George Bush’s 8 years of hell!
NPR and Huffington Post have more on this billboard. They’re trying to figure out who paid to put the billboard up and what the actual billboard means. I personally think it was put up by a teabagger who believes George Bush was the Savior and our country is now being ruined by that “evil black man in the White House”. The person who put the billboard up truly does miss George Bush because he/she is delusional!
Well, there’s a loaded question and I’m sure the neocons will come running out of the woodwork today to tell us how to create jobs, how to fix our health care system, and how to be a good citizen now that Scott Brown is walking on water as you read this sentence! Seriously, all I hear is bitching, complaining, and whining from the right wingers. Do they have any answers? Not that I can see. Let me know if you hear of one. Maybe if we all rubbed and stroked Scott Brown’s business suit the answers would come easily and our nation will be saved? Huh. Maybe.

Some Americans truly are stupid and it makes me sad that a couple of them are my friends on Facebook! *shudder* Anyway, I spent some time last night pointing out to the dummies that Haiti is extremely poor, their government is pretty much gone, and we as Americans must help them. Hell, it was the Haitian government that asked us to bring our military down there because they need us! The friend who originally posted her diatribe ended up doing a post apologizing to all she offended. Damn straight she did! I honestly don’t understand where the heart of Americans have gone. Apparently “Americans are barbarians” has stuck with them after 8 years of George Bush! Gees.
Our nation had 8 years of blatant fascism under George Bush and we’ve had a one year reprieve thanks to President Obama being in the White House, but what is most disturbing is an Animal Farm Revolution is underway again where the animals are demanding to go back to those 8 years of fascism because they believe it’s better and they’ll be happier! How many times do we have to tell the imbeciles of our country that whenever we have a republican president in the White House our nation goes into a recession, our money ends up missing in huge clumps, and we end up miserable and suffering? Huh? How many times? Give me a Democratic president who is bonking an intern in the Oval Office while creating 22 million jobs or a president who knows that one false move to the financial sector could cause Wall Street to retaliate could hurt us and that it’s going to take years to fix the messes George Bush wrought on our nation (slow progress is better than no progress!)! I’ve got to hand it to ole George. When I saw him standing next to President’s Clinton & Obama in support of the people of Haiti, his smirky grin made me think he didn’t want to be there and was only there because he was told to be and doesn’t really give a crap about the people of Haiti. Turns out I was wrong. Ole George is now proving that it’s the republican party as a whole that is hateful. Here’s what he said (quote is from Think Progress’ post on the subject along with video of Bush saying it) this morning on Meet The Press….

Incredible! Way to go George! I’m a little shocked you said this especially after knowing how your mother felt about ‘those people’ after Katrina ravaged New Orleans.
This still does not negate the fact that George is a war criminal and should be in prison along with Dick Cheney. It does prove, however, that the right wing of America is evil and hateful and their reaction to President Obama’s response to help the people of Haiti who were devastated by an earthquake proves they are both!

Why is Barack Obama getting blamed for not dealing with Yemen? The USS Cole was attacked in October of 2000. That leaves a tiny bit of Clinton and eight years of Bush the Dumber to have, oh, who the fuck knows, actually done something about the collapsing state of Yemen. Bonus points: after 9/11, Bush sent 100 troops to Yemen for “training.” It’s a little like sending a mouse with a toothpick to face down a gang of cats. Of course, instead of doing anything about Yemen, other than the occasional Predator drone strike, we did something about Iraq, which…oh, fuck, never mind. Bonuser points: Obama was already sending drones to bomb Yemen weeks before the taint bomber ever lifted his nutsack to get the explosives. (That’s not a statement on the legality of the drone attacks.)
Nope, and I’ll tell you why. By doing so, President Obama has basically cut off the testicles of the right wing of this country, because as Karl Rove proved recently…..blaming Michael Teiter of the National Counterterrorism Center for the failures of the Christmas Day bombing attempt, he’s basically blaming George Bush!
Oh man I love it. What is the right wing going to run on this year during the 2010 mid-term elections when President Obama has kept in some of George Bush’s key people from his 8 years of terror and has kept a portion of George Bush’s policies in place? Huh? Anyone know?

After the mid-term election is over and even if the republicans pick up a few seats in the Senate, President Obama is going to do a 180 degree turn from what he’s done over the last year. He will try to push through some real change and you watch…..the right wing will continue to block and they may be successful. And guess what? President Obama will then use the right wing’s “We Hate Americans! Don’t Care If You’re Safe Or Not!” meme against them in 2012!

They don’t want you to know that it took George Bush 6 days to come out and make a statement about Richard Reed deciding to light his shoe to bring an American plane down while over the Atlantic. They also don’t want you to know that there were no military tribunals to try Reed in, because they….*gasp*….followed the law of the land and had him tried in a Federal court! See?

Tom Ridge and the conservatives were fine with Reed being tried in a Federal court, but for some reason today, they think the Underwear Bomber should not be! Smell any hypocrisy? I’m watching the actual ceremony right now. Our President is an amazing man and our First Lady is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. Both are a positive influence on our young people. I couldn’t be any prouder. And to those who say that President Obama receiving the Nobel Peace prize and being nominated early in his tenure was an abomination, well, I thought that once too but I do understand why he achieved this great honor: HE BRINGS HOPE TO THE WHOLE PLANET, whereas, George Bush brought hope only to the uber wealthy of America. See the difference? I do!
Congratulations President Barack Hussein Obama! We may not agree with everything you’ve done so far, but we do know you were left a shitpile to handle and you’re doing the best you can. We also know you have to go slow in progress because even a snail’s pace is too fast for the right wing fringe of America!
