Mike Huckabee has now gone on record saying gay couples should not be trusted to adopt children because “children are not puppies”. Apparently, Mike believes gay couples would put newspapers on the floor for their adoptive children to pee and poop on. See? What is so interesting though and needs clarification from the Huckster is why did a heterosexual couple and one of the grandmothers put the couple’s adoptive child on a plane back to Russia? Wouldn’t this mean they’re unfit to handle children, that maybe they’re really gay, and they most likely put the child in a crate in the bottom of the airplane to transport their ‘puppy’ back to Russia? According to Mike, it’s all true! Jesus said so and we all know Jesus has a direct line into Mike’s brain!

I’ve never heard of a gay couple sending their adopted child back to his or her native country because they couldn’t handle a 7 year old. Have you Mike? Have you ever heard of this happening or is this what heterosexual couples do? Please explain, Oh Great One.

Also, Mike’s son got in trouble a few years ago for torturing a dog by hanging the dog from a tree branch. Mike, is your son gay? Maybe you’re the one who is gay Mike, because you gave birth to a son who tortures animals and according to you….he should not be allowed to procreate or adopt anything smaller than himself!

We’ll wait for Mike’s response to these questions, because we’re very confused! I’m sure he has some good tales to defend himself with. Should be interesting. See? I’m sure Sarah Palin will come to the Huckster’s defense, because we all know Sarah is all about being the “best heterosexual mother on the planet”, which I think is funny because she’s all about the money, she could care less about her kids or what they’re doing, and I found it rather odd that Sarah wore her hair up in a sexy way when campaigning with Michele Bachmann recently. I don’t see what the bill deal is to the white hateful Christians here in Maine (and from away!). The way the current gay marriage law is written here these Haters will not be forced to perform gay marriages in their churches. Their religions will not be forced to accept gays or gay marriages either. They have the freedom to still hate!  Hell, they don’t even have to recognize a gay marriage when they see one, but that’s not stopping their Hate, though! Oh no. They’ve gathered enough signatures to have their “We Hate Everyone Who Isn’t Like Us” measure to be put on the ballot in November in the hopes to overturn what our Maine legislature compassionately did just a few short months ago.

Here’s how Maine’s gay marriage law is written (CLICK HERE TO READ THE MAINE LAW) :

§ 650-A. Codification of marriage

Marriage is the legally recognized union of 2 people. Gender-specific terms relating to the marital relationship or familial relationships, including, but not limited to, “spouse,” “family,” “marriage,” “immediate family,” “dependent,” “next of kin,” “bride,” “groom,” “husband,” “wife,” “widow” and “widower,” must be construed to be gender-neutral for all purposes throughout the law, whether in the context of statute, administrative or court rule, policy, common law or any other source of civil law.

Sec. 5. 19-A MRSA §655, sub-§3 is enacted to read:

3. Affirmation of religious freedom. This Part does not authorize any court or other state or local governmental body, entity, agency or commission to compel, prevent or interfere in any way with any religious institution’s religious doctrine, policy, teaching or solemnization of marriage within that particular religious faith’s tradition as guaranteed by the Maine Constitution, Article 1, Section 3 or the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. A person authorized to join persons in marriage and who fails or refuses to join persons in marriage is not subject to any fine or other penalty for such failure or refusal.

Governor Baldacci has put a hold on gay marriages here in Maine for the time being. Sad. I wished he hadn’t. Stop caving in to the Haters! Gees.

As of right now, the Christian Haters do a very good job in wrecking their own heterosexual marriages. Governor Sanford proved to us recently that those who oppose gay marriage are also the same ones who are cheating on their wives with a mistress and handful of girlfriends! I mean, really, could the Christians crap on marriage anymore than they do? One point that isn’t made enough (but was on Howie Carr’s show out of Boston awhile back) is when Massachusetts instituted their gay marriage law….the rate of divorce in the state went down! Lowest divorce rate since WWII! Yes, that’s right. It appears gays respect the institution of marriage way more than the heterosexual couples do! Oh, but this knowledge isn’t going to stop the Hateful Hypocrites from trying to divide, hate, and conquer like the ‘Christian Crusaders’ have been known to do in the past. Nope. They will continue to divorce, to cheat, to lie, and to ruin marriage as they see fit, but will continue to point fingers at those who actually do respect the sanctity of marriage!

Exactly. Gay marriage should be the least of worries, ya Haters! Why don’t you spend your time caring for the sick and least among you instead of trying to hate & divide people in this country? Gees.

For crying out loud, THE HETEROSEXUALS ARE RUINING THE SANCTITY OF THEIR OWN MARRIAGES ALL BY THEMSELVES! Don’t even get me started on how the divorce rate went down in Massachusetts when gay marriage was made legal in that state. Yep, seems gay marriages are much more stable than the self-righteous overly religious wingnuts in our country seem to think! Bring on the gay marriages! Down with the heterosexual marriages that end up in divorce at a rate of 1 out of every 2 because Daddy is having sex with the family pets, the neighbor’s daughter, and keeps flying out of the country to have sex with all his girlfriends!  You jerks aren’t mature enough to be married…to anyone OR ANYTHING!

Not all is lost with Prop 8 being upheld yesterday by the California State Supreme Court, because as of right now, the 18,000 marriages performed under the previous law will remain valid. Honestly, that is good news for those couples! What the Prop 8 decision will do is light a fire under those Californians who support equal marriage protection under the law. Even George Clooney agrees! If they don’t use this time to make their case, then they will most likely lose their chance to have a voice in the debate from here on out. Remember, 18,000 marriages are still valid, so there’s going to be a fight by the right wing religious nutcases to overturn these marriages, so the supporters have to come to the plate, NOW!

Here in Maine we have the religious right wanting to overturn our gay marriage law and it will be a fight. The way our gay marriage law is written is absolutely fabulous and I hope the people in California take note of it:

Basically, the law is Maine is stating that marriage is a union between two people and they can obtain a marriage license through the state legally to do so. However, if your church or religion does not agree with gay marriage, then your church or religion is not forced to adhere to the law. Love it. In other words, if you’re a gay Mainer and want to marry your lover, you can through a Justice of Peace or through a church that recognizes gay marriage as a valid marriage, but you cannot force your church to marry you if the church refuses to on their religious beliefs.

Sounds fair to me, but the right wing religious nutcakes in Maine don’t care. They want a battle. And they’re going to get it.

Michael Steele is the best possible leader of the RNC because he’s batshit crazy! How he has come to the conclusion that gay marriages will financially effect small businesses is beyond me, but here he is exclaiming just that…

SAVANNAH, Ga. – Republicans can reach a broader base by recasting gay marriage as an issue that could dent pocketbooks as small businesses spend more on health care and other benefits, GOP Chairman Michael Steele said Saturday.

Steele said that was just an example of how the party can retool its message to appeal to young voters and minorities without sacrificing core conservative principles. Steele said he used the argument weeks ago while chatting on a flight with a college student who described herself as fiscally conservative but socially liberal on issues like gay marriage.

“Now all of a sudden I’ve got someone who wasn’t a spouse before, that I had no responsibility for, who is now getting claimed as a spouse that I now have financial responsibility for,” Steele told Republicans at the state convention in traditionally conservative Georgia. “So how do I pay for that? Who pays for that? You just cost me money.”

Apparently this will be Steele’s and the RNC’s platform of change they’re talking about. The only change I see is….none! The republic party is the most divisive, hateful, bigoted, racist, political party, but yet, here we see Steele making ridiculous claims that just won’t fly with the American people! The republic party in incapable of changing! They just spew their ridiculous crap in the hopes it sticks and in the hopes they can find the time to back their claim up.

First off, to say that ANY marriage effects small businesses is ridiculous. The plus side to a marriage is the local stores who sell wedding gowns, tuxedos, flowers, and do catering, because they will always benefit. That’s just the way it is. What I would like to know is what kind of small businesses would be negatively effected financially because of a marriage, gay or not. Would the local electricians go bankrupt if two men or two women decided to marry? Would the plumbers go out of business? Nope! And what about the small insurance companies? Oh wait! The small insurance companies would benefit because they would be insuring two people instead of one individually and if the price to insure goes down because a couple has applied, then they (the happily married straight/gay couple!) would most likely buy more insurances (car, life, medical, you name it)! Yep! This is what married couples do.

Secondly, Michael Steele needs to be more clear on this. If this is going to be the RNC’s newest platform to ‘get the young ones involved’ then he needs to explain what businesses in particular will go bankrupt in response to same sex couples marrying. I bet he won’t be able to, because just like the party he represents, they haven’t had a coherent idea in decades and they never, ever, ever have any proof to back their claims with!
