I gotta tell ya….republicans clearly don’t know how to express humor, sarcasm, irony, or any other kind of human behavior, so when I watched the following video created by this teabagger I knew I had the final proof they’re not human at all! Truly robotic and scary….

Remember as you watch this video that these are the people the Democrats are up against this year in the mid-terms! Too funny. Well, okay, they’re not funny and their attempts at trying to express a coherent thought via YouTube is very laughable, but what I don’t understand is how some of the teabaggers in the comments below find this video funny and well thought out. For instance, this comment…

The House Judiciary Committee voted Wednesday to strip federal antitrust protections shielding health insurers from investigations into price fixing and other business practices, the first step in a legislative bid to clamp down on the much-maligned industry.

Although Democrats have led the repeal push in recent weeks, the committee’s 20-9 vote came with the support of three Republicans. The legislation would repeal portions of the 1945 McCarran-Ferguson Act that allows states to regulate health insurance providers without federal intervention. But critics of the law say that 64 years after its passage, the result has been regional monopolies that inflate premiums and discriminate against people based on their health status, gender and other factors.

I will never forget working for a health insurance company (they also did life insurance and short term disability) back in the late 1980’s when AIDS/HIV was around. The national company I worked for decided to go up on the price on the policies of those with AIDS/HIV, because they knew eventually the customer would not be able to afford to continue to insure themselves. And they were right! Spit. Awful, awful, awful manipulating people lives like this!

Political Ideology: “Conservative” Label Prevails in the South

Conservatives outnumber liberals in nearly every state, but not in D.C.

This is all the “proof” the neocons need to be able to go around the country now “to prove” that the violent minority in this country (conservatives) are who Americans want in charge!

These findings are based on Americans’ answers to a question asking whether their political views are very conservative, conservative, moderate, liberal, or very liberal. The data come from Gallup Daily tracking in the first half of 2009, encompassing interviews with more than 160,000 U.S. adults, with a minimum of 400 interviews for each state (and 300 in the District of Columbia).

Only 400 people of each state over the course of 6 months total was asked if they their thinking was more liberal or conservative! Yeah, yeah, out of 300 million people, it’s the 20,000 (plus the 300 polled in Washington, DC!) that makes all the difference and are the final nail in the Democrat’s coffin!! And the 140,000 other adults that Gallop can’t say for sure were or were not interviewed for this poll? Pay no attention! Did they guess? Maybe! This could be why Gallop reported the following at the end of their article:

“In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.”

Can we add up the population of the “Most Conservative/More Conservative” states and compare them to the “Somewhat Conservative/Less Conservative/Liberal” states please!!! This poll was obviously designed to give the violent right wingers an edge, because honestly, when you read the data info and you look at this map, it appears that the conservative movement is still flat on it’s face!

This is why I really hate polls, because they can be easily manipulated for a preferred outcome. We all know the right wingers love using numbers & percentages too to dupe their supporters. I can’t remember the republican representative’s name that came on Glenn Beck’s show a couple months ago to chit chat, but he was throwing out percentages and numbers left and right and it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying and to follow along. Well, that’s what the right wingers do. They set out to confuse as this current Gallop poll indicates. Confusion and fear is all they know.

I say, just ignore the polls. Talk to your neighbors and family instead to get a better idea of what is happening in your own state. Let’s put it this way, the republicans in my state still don’t have any enthusiasm despite what the right wing talk show hosts would like for us to believe. The following photo was taken by the Chair of the Oxford County Democrats within the last week or two at a town market. She explained that this table looked like this for most of the day….

LOL! See? She said at one point a republican market-goer got a piece of candy for stopping by this table, but he said he never got his question answered! Nice.

Don’t let the conservatives fool you when they say the Democrats are afraid of holding town hall meetings with their constituents because of the conservatives acting like a bunch of bullies at recent ones. This is not the case. In fact, if you’ve noticed in the news lately it’s the Democrats who are holding town hall meetings, even with the threat of conservatives showing up (and these conservatives are dangerous! Don’t get me wrong. They are!)! It’s the republicans who rarely hold town hall meetings.

Enter conservative Senator Susan Collins…

She rarely if ever holds town hall meetings and I would also say she’s in line with most conservatives in Washington DC! They don’t give a shit what their constituents have to say. As of right now, Maine’s 4 representatives (Pingree, Michaud, Collins, and Snowe) are not going to be holding town hall meetings this month. Michaud has said that he had planned on doing ANOTHER phone call meeting with constituents. I’ve not participated in these phone calls with Michaud but he does do them quite often. He did one recently BEFORE the right wing conservative nutcases started showing up to their Democratic representative’s town hall meeting all yelling the same diatribe (but we are told they’re not being told to say these things! Uh ha. Yeah, grassroots my ass)!

Anyway…

Conservative Collins never talks to her constituents. I know for a fact that she prefers to talk to LARGE BUSINESS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS INSTEAD on the phone or have meetings with them. They’re all she cares about.  I know this because one day one of my cleaning customers who is the CEO of a large well-known national company said he has Collins’ PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER. He told me he can call her any time he wants. I asked him why he would need to call her and then I asked him what he talks to her about. His answer? He said he called one day about the soda tax Mainers were getting ready to vote on last year before the November 2008 election and he told her that he was against it. LOL Pathetic! Oh yes! She’ll take a call from a CEO complaining about paying another NICKEL FOR A CAN OF SODA to help poor Mainers, but take a call from a citizen of Maine or hold a town hall meeting where the average citizen can ask her unscripted questions? NO WAY! Scary to her. Always has been too since 1996 when she first came to office on a big fat lie!

Collins didn’t even like it when a member of the Maine Democratic Party showed up with a video camera to ask her a question! I mean, really, why would she want to talk to the little people when she’d rather spend time with the mucky-mucks who want to lick her backside as if it was a horse’s salt lick!

Collins likes to hang out at the homes of these CEO’s in Cape Elizabeth, Portland, and the other surrounding areas. She likes one neighborhood in particular that shall go unnamed, but what is so interesting about this is that these towns are in the 1st District which is Sen. Olympia Snowe’s district! Does Collins hang out with the poor people that make up mostly the 2nd District that she represents? Nope! If she does, she tells those people to not say a word that she visited their house because she doesn’t want anyone to know!

So, there you have it. The conservatives right now want you to believe that they are holding town hall meetings while it’s the Democrats who are afraid to. They’re not. Yes, the conservatives are going to the Democrat’s town hall meetings to disrupt the flow of information on health care, but no one is able to do the same thing at a republican town hall meeting……because they’re not being held! See?

Yeah, you heard me. The American Taliban (aka today’s republican party) has decided they’re going to waste more of our to go on record exclaiming that the Democratic Party is now the “Democrat Socialist Party”. That’s right! The American Taliban, who is trying to rebrand itself, will be spending their days rebranding the Democratic Party as part of their rebranding!

• Hillary Clinton is now confirmed as the next Secretary of State
• Caroline Kennedy most likely will be Hillary’s replacement in the US Senate
• President Obama sent around a draft to close GITMO today
• President Obama is getting ready to issue an executive order (on Thursday) to lift the ban of federal funds for organizations that discuss or perform abortions in other countries
• President Obama orders a halt to the trials & prosecutions going on in GITMO
• President Obama is getting ready to issue an order to his administration for transparency, which goes against what the Bush Regime ordered for the last 8 years
• President Obama’s staff will not receive a pay increase over the next 4 years
• Seven of President Obama’s nominations have been confirmed, and it appears Tim Geithner as Treasury Secretary will also be easily confirmed this week too
• Former US Senator George Mitchell of Maine has been tapped by President Obama as an envoy to the Middle East

I had a feeling President Obama would start off on the left foot, even though many online had pretty much said he would be worse than George W. Bush. Well, there may be times when we are not happy with some of the decisions Obama makes, but I think we are going to be more surprised than not over what he does in the next 2-4 years. He has a huge shit pile to handle right now as we know, but I think the Democrats and a few republicans will do the right thing to get our nation back on track.  The Democrats have some control right now and they had better listen to the American people who made this control possible!

Did I tell you who was at the Democrat’s office on the night of the election making phone calls and volunteering her young little heart out? The girl of my son’s dreams….Ms. Beryl! And did I tell you what happened? Oh boy. This is very embarrassing. I’ve only met her once and it was last year when she and a friend came to our house to say ‘hi’ to my son (so cute and both giggled the whole time they were here), so I hadn’t logged her face in my brain as I should have. Well, there she was coming up to me on election night asking me how the numbers were looking (I was using the OCD Vice Chair’s laptop to see what was going on) and I didn’t know it was her! I was so focused on the election results (which was too early to find out anyways) that I had no idea it was Beryl! Of course, we talked the whole night….but dammit….my brain was fried. Anyways, when my son told me when I got home late on election night that he got an email from her saying she saw me, I was so crushed. By the way…

Beryl is the next generation of Democrats in our area who will take our party forward and I am so proud of her and all the other young people who volunteered throughout the spring, summer, and fall! I met lots of great kids. On election night, the Phone Bank Manager was a 16 year old. Cool, huh? Beryl and her friends were the ones who organized the mock election at the high school election too. I said to my son, “Will you marry this girl at some point? She’s right up your mother’s alley!”. Of course, he’s at the age where you can’t say things like that and turns all red.

President Barack Obama is in the process of picking his Cabinet right now and yesterday on the tv news I heard one saying that if he can’t get who he wants before January 20, 2009, George Bush will do the picking for him. If that’s true, then good gawd, man, START PULLING EVERYONE YOU KNOW BY THE NECK TO GET THEM TO SAY ‘YES I WILL!’ TO WORK FOR YOU!

I don’t want George Bush making anymore decisions on behalf of any of us. No way!

So far, the name being kicked around for Chief of Staff is Rahm Emanuel. Honestly, I’m not thrilled with this choice, but if Barack is, then I guess I’m going to have to suck it up and complain when the time comes. What do you think of his choice of Emanuel? And what about the idea of John Kerry in as Secretary of State? I like it!

I have a feeling President Obama is going to have the most diversified, qualified, and likable Cabinet in our nation’s history. He did point out and made very clear that he does not want lobbiests anywhere near him. I like that. I’m feeling the trust, you know, the trust in the president we haven’t felt for 8 long years! Feels good.
