John McCain is a piece of shit. For him to say just a few years ago that if the military leaders approached him and told him it’s time to repeal Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell, he would gladly work to do it. Fast forward to today and we see John McCain in a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing with the military leaders who tell him it’s time to repeal this awful piece of crap, and what does he do? He doesn’t listen to them! He decides instead to spew the right wing fringe rhetoric that gay soldiers put our nation at risk.

My father was a tank Sargent in the U.S. Army in the late 50’s, early 60’s. To this day he speaks lovingly (seriously! He does!) of his soldiers and likes to compare them to the characters on Welcome Back Kotter, meaning, they came from all different walks of life and there were a couple of “Horseshacks”, you know, a few soldiers who might have been gay or not, but it didn’t matter to anyone, because as soldiers they’re there for each other and worrying about something as stupid as that is not what makes a good soldier! He’s been friends with some of these soldiers for over 50 years now!

Dad grew up extremely poor in Portland, Maine (the house he lived in as a child is now a big parking lot on the corner of Congress & Franklin Streets!) and besides his sister Nellie (my Aunt Nell whom I’ve talked about before on my blog! Love her!) being 10 years older than him and making sure my father got what he needed throughout his childhood, his Uncle Wayne was also the person who made the biggest impact in his life! Uncle Wayne was gay. He was openly gay too and no one in the family cared one iota. Wayne was the male figure in my Dad’s life for years, because my Nana and Grampy were alcoholics who weren’t always there for him, and when Uncle Wayne died a few years ago all my father could talk about is how wonderful this man was to him.

My Dad was and is a great soldier and man while John McCain is a horrible soldier and person. He’s self-centered, unappreciative, a sucky soldier, and downright wrong about the gays and lesbians who have always been in our military doing a fine job and who still are! McCain is a piece of shit. The End. I would say that maybe it’s time for him to listen to his daughter and wife about being a better person, but now that he’s aligned himself with the right wing religious fringe in our country and being fed by them, he most likely hates women too and won’t listen. What an ass!

What an asshole that guy is! He thinks gay behavior should be outlawed! Gee, is this asswipe saying men don’t stick their penises up a woman’s ass? Isn’t that considered ‘gay behavior’? Why not outlaw all sexual behavior then! Seriously, make it a law that two people cannot have sex. Period. This would cure the abortion issue now wouldn’t it?

‘Gay behavior’: kissing, hugging, licking, caressing, and sticking penises (or dildos!) in crevices! Sounds just like heterosexual behavior doesn’t it? Yep, it does! Shortly after President Barack Obama pledged Saturday to end “don’t ask, don’t tell,” the Administration’s highest-ranking LGBT official said the White House is speaking with certain senators about strategies for repealing the policy — specifically Sen. Joseph Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee.

“On ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’ this administration is talking directly to the Hill — we are in direct discussions with Senator Lieberman,” John Berry, the director of the Office of Personnel Management, told The Advocate.

A spokesman for Senator Lieberman confirmed that the senator had been speaking to the White House about the bill. “Senator Lieberman has had discussions with representatives of the Administration and others on the best way to reverse this policy, which he has opposed since it was first proposed in 1993,” said Marshall Wittmann, Lieberman’s press secretary. Wittmann gave no further information on the senator’s plans regarding the legislation.

I guess it doesn’t matter what President Obama does at this point in repealing DADT even if it does happen in 2010, because we learned today that when it comes to believing President Obama or John Harwood, some of those ‘powerful liberal bloggers’ are gonna side with the opposition and against Obama! See?

For some reason I’m seeing circling wagons with lots of ‘powerful liberal bloggers’ whipping their donkeys to mush to the right….and again to the right….to the right again…and then circle to the right again until they look like a bunch of circus elephants holding each other’s tails in the ring. KABUL, Afghanistan — A U.S. soldier who inexplicably walked off his barren military base earlier this week was captured by Taliban militants hours later, U.S. military officials said Thursday. It’s believed to be the first time insurgents here have captured a U.S. serviceman in the almost-eight-year war.

The private first class, who was based in Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan near the Pakistan border, didn’t show up for formation on Tuesday. When fellow soldiers went to his quarters, they found his weapon, but his journal was missing, officials in Kabul told McClatchy Newspapers. Hours later, U.S. military officials received a phone call saying that the soldier had been kidnapped outside the base, a senior military official said. It’s not clear whether any demands were made.

Is it possible he was dragged off by a bunch of right wing neck drooling Bush-supporting knuckle dragging bigots? Could be! The military is not releasing the name of this soldier for “fear” the Taliban aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way in Afghanistan will use his name as a way to get at us! Yep. That’s what the military wants us to believe. Why am I suddenly thinking of Pat Tillman and his journal? Huh. And why am I cringing after reading the following article over on Think Progress tonight…entitled….‘GAY SOLDIER DEAD’, you know, a gay soldier killed by another soldier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spit.

CONCLUSION: “DON’T ASK DON’T TELL” IS KILLING OUR SOLDIERS AND IS NOT PROTECTING THEM FROM VIOLENCE BY OTHER SOLDIERS! It’s such a travesty. Shame on Clinton, Bush, and Obama for keeping this atrocious legislation legal and viable!
