QUOTE OF THE DAY:

GLENN BECK AT CPAC 2010: ‘Hello, my name is the Republican Party, and I’ve got a problem. I’m addicted to spending and big government…I’m addicted to spending and I just don’t want to spend today.’ (CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO QUOTE)

"If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal,” then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.” ~ John F. Kennedy, 1960

Maine’s Yes On 1 campaign is made up of whiny ass titty babies who know they’re losing!

Awwwwwww, how cute. When you stand for right wing issues (HATE, BIGOTRY, RACISM, MISOGAMY, STRIFE, DIVISION, LIES as the Yes On 1 campaign makes clear) and you know you’re going to lose at the ballot box, what do you do? Oh that’s right! You make hypocritical claims that the No On 1 campaign is raising money deceitfully and is manipulating the media, when you are doing the same friggin thing! See?

Here’s the lovely memo from the Yes On 1 campaign today (you know, using the media in a deceitful & manipulative way to make it seem like there is a crisis and criminal activity going on with the No On 1 campaign when there isn’t!):

October 26, 2009
MEMORANDUM

TO: Editorial Boards, Editors and Reporters

FROM: Communications Director

Stand for Marriage Maine ” Yes on Question 1 Campaign

SUBJECT: Media Deception of No on 1 Campaign Uncovered

The latest campaign report filed by the No on Question 1 campaign has allowed us to uncover the shocking lengths to which No on 1 has gone to deceive and manipulate the media. In my years of working on campaigns in Maine, I cannot recall such a brazen attempt to fool the media, and thus the public, about the true nature of a campaign. I respectfully submit that editorial boards, editors and reporters should not allow these intentional attempts at deception and manipulation to go unchallenged.

Consider these facts:

Hannah Pingree a Paid Consultant to No on 1 campaign.

The other day the No on Question 1 campaign held a press conference featuring House Speaker Hannah Pingree criticizing our campaigns ads as being deceptive. Jesse Connolly, campaign manager for the No on 1 campaign introduced Pingree to the media as follows:

And now I want to introduce the Speaker of the House, Hannah Pingree. Heres what Pingree told the media: What troubles me most is that the Yes on 1 campaign doesnt want to believe those of us in Maine who take our public service seriously.

It was a stirring performance by Speaker Pingree, who appeared before the media as an independent third party with no apparent ax to grind in the debate. Yet now we know just how deceptive Pingree, Connolly and the No on Question 1 campaign have been: The most recent campaign report shows that No on 1 has paid Hannah Pingree $5,175.60 to serve as a consultant to their campaign! What hypocrisy! While Pingree is complaining that our campaign is not taking her public service seriously, she is getting paid to speak for the No on 1 campaign. Incredibly, neither Hannah Pingree nor Jesse Connolly ever mentioned to the media or the public that Pingree was a paid consultant for the No on 1 campaign, yet they both obviously knew she was. The payment to Pingree occurred on October 7th, twelve days before Pingree appeared at the No on 1 press conference. You can watch the entire press conference here. Independent Pollster a paid consultant to No on Question 1.

A few weeks ago, a poll by an outfit called Democracy Corps was published in the media. The poll was fielded by the polling firm of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner and supposedly showed that our campaign was trailing badly ” 41% Yes to 50% No.

Jesse Connolly used the poll in an effort to raise money for the No on Question 1 campaign. In an email blast entitled Independent poll shows “No on 1″ leading in Maine Connolly said, A new public poll from Democracy Corps was released yesterday, showing us with a slight lead this race 50% to 41%, a significant jump from kos’s numbers from the other week of 46-48. The numbers are encouraging, but it’s that 9% undecided that will determine this race. Connolly went on to ask for contributions which, as is now obvious, was extremely successful. No on 1 has raised at least $1.4 million since Connolly set his email.

This was another boldface deception and manipulation of the media that we have uncovered in their latest campaign finance report. The Democracy Corps poll by Greenberg Quinlan Rosner was published on September 30th. Eight days later, No on Question 1 paid this same firm $17,900. It would appear that they got this firm to publish a poll, calling it an independent poll, and then used the poll to help raise $1.4 million for their campaign. Even if Greenberg Quinlan Rosner conducted two polls around the same time ” highly unlikely ” it was extremely deceptive of Connolly to call it an independent poll and fail to disclose to the media and public that the pollster was actually a paid consultant to the No on 1 campaign. Campaign operative who filed ethics complaint against Yes on 1 campaign is a contributor to the No on Question 1 campaign.

As you may recall, several weeks ago California political consultant Fred Karger filed an ethics complaint against our campaign and one of our supporters, falsely accusing us of campaign violations. An investigation will show these charges to be false, but wont come until long after the election. Neither Karger nor the No on 1 campaign have ever acknowledged any connection to each other, yet the new campaign report shows that Karger is a contributor to the No on 1 campaign. He gave them $250 in the latest report.

No on 1 lists Karger as retired.

The attempt to deceive and manipulate the media by the No on 1 campaign is systemic and extensive. I hope that editorial board, editors and reporters will seriously look into these issues and issue appropriate comment.

Thank you.

Let’s go over once again the deceptive practices of the Yes on 1 campaign…

First off, HERE’S THEIR DECEPTIVE & HATEFUL “WALKING SCRIPT”.

Secondly, where is their money mainly (60%) coming from? Oh that’s right! From the Mormons! Yes, 60% of their money is coming from an out of state group called, National Organization for Marriage. 60%! I wonder if they belong to Glenn Beck’s Mormon Militia too? Hey, could be. HATES SPREADS RAPIDLY AMONGST THE RIGHT WING CRAZIES! It makes you wonder how many Mainers giving money make up the other 40%? Most likely not a lot!

Thirdly, the Yes On 1 campaign is using children to spread their hate! As Bill in Portland, Maine points out on his DailyKos page, “The opposition, like the ‘Yes on 1′ campaign here in Maine, is using children as their battering ram to muddy the issue and get it rejected”. And they can’t stop it either…..using children isn’t a shocker when you think of all the young children raped & molested by Catholic bishops and other religious leaders! Spit.

Fourthly, when the Yes On 1 campaign wants to be a bunch of whiny ass titty babies, they file a lawsuit so they can run their outrageous ads filled with lies, deceits, and ridiculous claims!

And Fifthly, why not throw in some plagiarizing too for the Yes On 1 campaign? Okay!

A Catholic Priest ends a marriage, has a relationship with the woman, gets her pregnant, and refuses to pay child support

And not only that, right now the mother and son both have cancer and the Catholic Priest wants her to keep the whole affair a secret!

Here’s the first page of a nine page article from the New York Times on this:

O’FALLON, Mo. – With three small children and her marriage in trouble, Pat Bond attended a spirituality retreat for Roman Catholic women in Illinois 26 years ago in hopes of finding support and comfort.

What Ms. Bond found was a priest – a dynamic, handsome Franciscan friar in a brown robe – who was serving as the spiritual director for the retreat and agreed to begin counseling her on her marriage. One day, she said, as she was leaving the priest’s parlor, he pulled her aside for a passionate kiss.

Ms. Bond separated from her husband, and for the next five years she and the priest, the Rev. Henry Willenborg, carried on an intimate relationship, according to interviews and court documents. In public, they were both leaders in their Catholic community in Quincy, Ill. In private they functioned like a married couple, sharing a bed, meals, movie nights and vacations with the children.

Eventually they had a son, setting off a series of legal battles as Ms. Bond repeatedly petitioned the church for child support. The Franciscans acquiesced, with the stipulation that she sign a confidentiality agreement. It is now an agreement she is willing to break as both she and her child, Nathan Halbach, 22, are battling cancer.

With little to lose, they are eager to tell their stories: the mother, a once-faithful Catholic who says the church protected a philandering priest and treated her as a legal adversary, and the son, about what it was like to grow up knowing his absentee father was a priest.

“I’ve always called him Father Henry – never Father, never Dad,” said Nathan, at home between hospital visits. “I always felt he picked religion over me.”

And who believes in the sanctity of marriage and the love of family & children? Well, it ain’t the Catholic priests, you know, the ones who are completely against same sex marriage when they themselves refuse to show respect for the opposite sex that they say they love and have children with!

Spit.

If you’re a Mainer and you vote “yes” on Question 1 in support of repealing Maine’s same sex marriage law, go hang yourself because you’re continuing and applauding this Priests behavior! This is why one in two marriages fail in this country: BECAUSE THERE ARE EGOTISTICAL HETEROSEXUAL ASSHOLES INVOLVED!

The anti-birth control Catholics are up to their old tricks again

Here’s a very clever ad done by Catholicvote.org:

They’re trying to tell us that if Barack Obama was aborted by his single mother years ago, then he would have not become the first African American President of the United States. True in a way, but if the Catholic Church would understand that educating their populace to use birth control does not mean that America will not have any more presidents, we all might just get along. I mean, really, how can one be against abortion and against birth control at the same time? And why does the Catholic Church think that all aborted fetuses would have grown up to be the next President of the United States? Are they using fear and stupidity again? I think so.

I still like the idea of religious people worrying about what goes on in their own households & churches, rather than concentrating on what others are doing and the choices they’re making. We all know the Catholic Church has a problem with pedophile Priests and if they used the same energy they use with their abortion-cause, they might not look so hypocritical after cleaning up their own side of the fence!

Years ago when I was earning my paralegal degree, one of the young women in my classes asked me if I would be willing to take her out of state, so she could get an abortion. She feared being seen in Portland, Maine, because she’s Catholic and didn’t want to risk her mother or anyone else seeing her go into the Planned Parenthood up here.

I agreed to take her to Boston.

When she came to the car, she looked more relieved than I had expected her to be. She got in the car and said to me (paraphrasing), “Well, I’m feeling better. I told the nurse in there that I was Catholic and was really torn about having an abortion and before I could finish my sentence she said to me that she too was Catholic and that a good portion of their patients who come in for abortions are also Catholic”. I was stunned to hear this, but then again, not so much. Hypocrisy seems to run wild in the Catholic & Evangelical churches. Just an observation I’ve had over the years as you know.
