QUOTE OF THE DAY:

<br />

GLENN BECK AT CPAC 2010: ‘Hello, my name is the Republican Party, and I’ve got a problem. I’m addicted to spending and big government…I’m addicted to spending and I just don’t want to spend today.’ (CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO QUOTE)

"If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal,” then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.” ~ John F. Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei asks, “How one can rig 11 million votes?”

ahmadinejadjoeliebermanwhitenoiseinsanitydotcomphoto

(image created by KayInMaine of White Noise Insanity)

Geeeeeee, how can one rig 11 million votes in favor of the guy who the Iranian people don’t want? Well Ayatollah, all that needs to be done is one person in charge of announcing the winner after looking at the vote counts, seeing that Ahmadinejad lost by 11 million votes, is not the actual winner, and then this person deciding to announce to the people, “Ahmadinejad is the winner!”. See? It’s very simple. This election reminds me of Ned Lamont & Joe Lieberman’s 2006 race where at one point in the voting Ned Lamont received the EXACT same amount of votes that one of Joe’s former opponents did in a previous race Joe was in! Yeah, yeah, it’s good to have friends in high places if you wanted to win your race when you clearly didn’t win it. It was as if Connecticut’s Secretary of State wanted Joe Lieberman to keep his seat for Israel so he said, “Screw it! I’m just going to announce that you won Joe even though you clearly didn’t, because the people of Connecticut wanted change and we don’t want that, right Joe?!”. Spit.

So Ayatollah, it’s very easy to “steal” or “rig” 11 million votes when you have people in power who decide the winner before the votes have been tallied, and even after they’re tallied and they see that Ahmadinejad clearly was the loser in the race…..they’ll just announce him as the winner anyway!

I have a feeling if the Ayatollah’s decision to announce Ahmadinejad as the winner today will result in the Iranian youth continuing their quest for change. It’s going to be a wild ride. We, as Americans, must stop demonizing the Iranians. It’s not them that is the problem…..it’s their leaders.

The Iranian soccer team in Seoul, Korea shows their support for Mir Hossein Mousavi in their own special way

Some of the Iranian soccer team wore green wrist bands during their game against Seoul at the Seoul World Cup Stadium knowing full well that the game was going to be televised….

iraniansoccerteam

(you can see more pictures of the Iranian soccer team and other young supporters of Mousavi at the Associated Press by CLICKING HERE)

Young Iranians have witnessed a whole generation die due to war and other travesties, so it’s so amazing me to see them standing up against their current government knowing they could be putting their own life in jeopardy. Pretty damn brave if you ask me! I mean, really, is there a threat against their life now once they get back home after wearing these wrist bands? I don’t know, but if they think there is, this just shows you how they’re willing to die to change their country for the better.

Gives me goosebumps.

When I look at this picture of the Iranian soccer team, I immediately think this could be an American soccer team based solely on how they look. We’re not different really. There are those who have made us think we’re different to keep the decades of fear going. But today is a new day! President Obama’s campaign last year and his presidency has opened a lot of hearts and minds  in our country and throughout the world, and nothing would make me happier than to find out that his speech in Cairo, Egypt a few weeks back was absorbed to the core of the youth of the Middle East and they’re taking action. We, ourselves, understand their excitement!

Mousavi may not be perfect but he’s more forward thinking and open to new ideas which will be great for Iran. The Iranian youth sees him as a catalyst for change and as a glimmer of hope in their own destiny. Wonderful. Again, gives me goosebumps for these Iranian “kids”. Of course….

Rush Limbaugh thinks that President Obama isn’t meddling enough in the Iranian election (he said this today on his radio show). Not meddling enough? For crying out loud, right now is not the time to be interferring! We are seeing a rebirth of a people at the moment in Iran and that means we must all sit out in the waiting room until the doctor lets us know if we’ve had a boy or a girl! We can’t rush this, Dumbass, and the worst thing President Obama could do right now is to grab the foreceps, push the doctor out of the way, and then pull the baby out, because it could hurt the baby or the mother for crying out loud! Jees. Idiot.

I’m waiting patiently for the announcement. Until then, isn’t it nice to know that the Iranian youth has a voice at the moment? Must feel good to them after all these years. ;-)

Will Liz Cheney run for office?

Just like her father, Liz Cheney comes up from the depths to see the sunlight every once in a while…

(picture found HERE)

The republic party still continues to scrape the bottom of the barrel if they think a Cheney or anyone from the Bush Regime has any clout with the American people at this point to win an election! How funny. Well, after watching the republic party for the last 8 years, it’s not surprising to me that they’re holding onto the warmongers close to their breasts. They have no other choice, because right now the American people despise this party and to these right wing party members….this means we love them! Yeah, yeah, they’ve never been able to read Americans, so why start now? I’m telling you….they have lost their minds which makes me so happy!

From US News & World Report:

The hottest Republican property out there isn’t former Vice President Dick Cheney but his Liz, who has taken to the airwaves to defend her dad and the whole Bush administration on national security and Guantánamo Bay issues. Liz Cheney, who followed the former veep’s hard-hitting speech criticizing President Obama’s policies with a CNN appearance, is becoming so popular in conservative circles that some want her to run for office. “She’s awesome. Everyone wants her to run,” said a close friend.

If Liz Cheney does decide to run for office, what would be her platform? Pro-torture? Pro-covering up the crimes of a criminal regime? Pro-life when she’s pro-war? Breaking the law to defend her father….

Has Liz Cheney had direct contact with highly classified information from our intelligence agencies, because she seems to let on that she knows as much as her father does when it comes to what has transpired behind the scenes over the last 8 years of George Bush? I think this should be the first question she’s asked: “Who gave you, a citizen of the United States, security clearance to view highly classified information?”. I’m serious. She needs to answer this question. Anyway…

What else would Liz Cheney run on? She’s got 5 kids in her home, is writing a book, and something tells me she’s got more in common with Sarah Palin than she does the average American! Scary to think about the Doublemint Warmonger Twins on the same ticket! That said, any known right wing warmongering buffoon on the ticket in 2012 will be a sure landslide victory for President Obama, because Americans are not ready to make nice with any of these people. In fact, we despise who they are and what they stand for. Americans went through absolute hell under George Bush and all republican presidents before him for the past three decades, so why the hell would we adhere ourselves to more financial troubles, more unjust & illegal wars for our children to die in, and more right wing bullshit coming from the White House ever again? No way! We’re too smart for that.

It will be interesting who the right wing of America chooses for their Masters. Liz Cheney, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Bobby Jindal, Mike Huckabee….are all names the republic party will wrap their arms around…..and this will continue to keep the Democratic Party strong in this country. Soooo……bring it on!

Governor Sebelius has been confirmed!

Wow, that didn’t take long. I guess knowing your party is full of obstructionists who hate America was enough for the republicans to vote Governor Sebelius in as HHS Secretary to prove they don’t! Only a few republicans voted her in. Bond, Collins, Gregg, Lugar, Roberts, Snowe, Specter, and Voinovich were the only republicans voting in favor of Sebelius’ confirmation. Hmmmmmm, more republican defections to the Democratic Party coming? Could be.

From Reuters:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as health secretary, filling a crucial spot in President Barack Obama’s cabinet amid growing fears of a possible swine flu pandemic.

The Senate voted 65-31 for Sebelius, brushing back Republican opposition to her support for abortion rights. Sebelius was tapped by Obama to lead his push to overhaul the U.S. healthcare system.

Why have republicans like Paul Weyrich worked so hard to deny the right to vote to so many Americans?

To the reich-wing trolls Paul Weyrich died in December and may he ROT IN HELL;

Paul Weyrich – “I don’t want everybody to vote” (Goo Goo)

Weyrich is the father or reich wing republican anti-american voter suppression so they can steal elections instead of fairly winning them within the RULES

He just didn’t give a speech, he actively helped the right wing of the Republican Party create the dishonest machinery of voter suppression people like Harris in 2000 and Blackwell in 2004 used to deny United sates citizens from exercising the most basic right of a citizen, the right to freely choose their own leaders.

Things like;

Photo ID laws

The Republican Party has passed photo ID laws in seven states, including Indiana and Georgia. This disproportionately affects minority and elder voters who do not have driver’s licenses and lean towards voting Democratic. For example, about 12 retired nuns in South Bend, Indiana, were barred from voting in Indiana’s 2008 Democratic primary election because they lacked photo IDs required under a state law which the Indiana Supreme Court upheld in April 2008. John Borkowski, a South Bend lawyer volunteering as an election watchdog for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, said, “This law was passed supposedly to prevent and deter voter fraud, even though there was no real record of serious voter fraud in Indiana.”

Purging voter rolls

In 2008, more than 50,000 registered Georgia voters were purged from voter rolls because of a computer mismatch in their personal identification information. At least 4,500 of those people must prove their citizenship to regain their right to vote. The state may make the burden impossible to meet. For example, the state of Georgia gave college senior Kyla Berry one week to prove her citizenship in a letter dated October 2, 2008. Unfortunately, the letter was postmarked October 9, 2008. However, Berry is a U.S. citizen, born in Boston, Massachusetts with a passport and a birth certificate to prove it. Wendy Weiser, an elections expert with New York University’s Brennan Center for Justice said, “What most people don’t know is that every year, elections officials strike millions of names from the voter rolls using processes that are secret, prone to error and vulnerable to manipulation.”

Just in case ya didn’t know, Georgia has a republican governor and Sec of State.

They were just following in the footsteps of Katherine Harris who did the very same thing in 2000 in Florida;

Florida Central Voter File

Between May 1999 and Election Day 2000, two Florida secretaries of state, Sandra Mortham and Katherine Harris, distributed the scrub lists produced by the cleansing process to counties and ordered the 57,700 people identified as “ex-felons” to be removed from voter rolls. Together the lists comprised nearly 1% of Florida’s electorate and nearly 3% of its African-American voters.

the facts;

In Florida during the 2000 presidential election, some non-felons were banned due to record-keeping errors and not warned of their disqualification before they no longer had the right to contest it.

In other words, many people on the list were NOT even a felon, they just shared a name with someone from ANOTHER state who was a felon, or some people had their right to vote reinstated before she illegally stole that right.

But Harris succeeded to throw the election in Florida to Bush in 2000 by her traitorous activity of denying US citizens their constitutional right to vote. In a sense she stole the election before she helped steal the election by blocking the counting of all the votes.

2002 New Hampshire Senate election phone jamming scandal

In the 2002 New Hampshire Senate election phone jamming scandal, Republican officials attempted to reduce the number of Democratic voters by paying professional telemarketers in Idaho to make repeated hang-up calls to block Democrats’ ride-to-the-polls phone lines on election day.

2004 presidential election

Allegations surfaced in several states that the group called Voters Outreach of America had collected and submitted Republican voter registration forms while inappropriately disposing of Democratic registration forms.

What the shit stack said to do in 1980, prevent American citizens who might not vote for you from voting at all;

Michigan Republican state legislator John Pappageorge was quoted as saying, “If we do not suppress the Detroit vote, we’re going to have a tough time in this election.”

2006 Virginia Senate election

During the United States Senate election in Virginia, 2006, Secretary of the Virginia State Board of Elections Jean Jensen concluded that the incidents of voter suppression appeared widespread and deliberate. Documented incidents of voter suppression include:
* Democratic voters receiving calls incorrectly informing them voting will lead to arrest.
* Widespread calls fraudulently claiming to be “Webb Volunteers,” falsely telling voters their voting location had changed.
* Fliers paid for by the Republican Party, stating “SKIP THIS ELECTION” was allegedly an attempt to suppress African-American turnout.

A particularly reprehensibly form of voter suppression practiced by republicans acting out the designs of voter denial for opponents of republican candidates;

Caging

Which under the National Voting Rights Act of 1993 (NVRA) should be illegal, but the Bush DOJ never enforced the law as usual.

Pre Election Day Operations New Registration Mailing

At whatever point registration in the state closes, a first class mailing should be sent to all new registrants as well as purged/inactive voters. This mailing should welcome the recipient to the voter rolls. It is important that a return address is clearly identifiable. Any mail returned as undeliverable for any reason, should be used to generate a list of problematic registrations. Poll watchers should have this list and be prepared to challenge anyone from this list attempting to vote.

* Shortly before the 2004 election, Palast also obtained a caging list for Jacksonville, Florida, which contained a high number of African Americans and registered Democrats. The caging list was attached to an email which a Florida Republican party official was sending to RNC headquarters official Tim Griffin.

Who BTW worked directly for Karl; Rove

* The Republican National Committee sent letters to predominately urban minority areas in Ohio. When 35,000 letters were returned as undeliverable, the party employed poll watchers to challenge the voters. Voting rights groups challenged the RNC in a case that went to the Supreme Court, but the RNC was not stopped from challenging those voters. Similarly, the RNC sent out 130,000 letters in Philadelphia hoping to cage voters there. Philadelphia is a city with a majority African American population that votes heavily Democratic. The Republicans were attempting to cage votes by people who were likely to vote for the Democratic candidates.

* In the Ohio court challenge, the RNC submitted a caging list that targeted urban and African-American areas in and around Cleveland.

* Journalists found evidence that the Republican National Committee (RNC) attempted to use caging to suppress votes in five states in the 2004 US presidential election. For example, in New Jersey RNC officials used caging lists to challenge absentee ballots and absentee ballot requests.

The reason I find caging particularly reprehensible, is because caging catches anybody who is NOT living at their home of record but registered to vote there.

Caging is designed to go after college students, a block of voters who historically normally do not vote republican,

BUT it catches another subset of the voting public in similar circumstances as to living at their home of record;

DEPLOYED MILITARY MEMBERS especially ones deployed to combat zones where mail sometimes takes upwards of six weeks to arrive and six weeks to be returned.

When the republicans cage a heavily democratic leaning district, they also deny the right to vote to the very people who are actively defending that very right.

During the Bush administration they even allowed voting suppression activist like Hans von Spakovsky and Bradley Schlozman to actively work within the Justice department lead by Alberto Gonzales, to work the anti-american ideas of Weyrich into using federal power to suppress the rights of American citizens to vote.

Republican based voter suppression, something Weyrich helped create and foster to help his extreme ideology to attack the country is a historical fact, People like Weyrich are traitors to the US Constitution, and our country.

And I have no quarter to give to traitors,

whether they use bombs like Timmy McVeigh did,

or the machinery of the Republican Party to subvert the US Constitution.

May they both rot in hell.

Beth Israel Hospital: Good for them…

Sometimes the people are willing to do the right thing;

Paul Levy, the guy who runs Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, was standing in Sherman Auditorium the other day, before some of the very people to whom he might soon be sending pink slips.

In the days before the meeting, Levy had been walking around the hospital, noticing little things.

He stood at the nurses’ stations, watching the transporters, the people who push the patients around in wheelchairs. He saw them talk to the patients, put them at ease, make them laugh. He saw that the people who push the wheelchairs were practicing medicine.

He noticed the same when he poked his head into the rooms and watched as the people who deliver the food chatted up the patients and their families.

He watched the people who polish the corridors, who strip the sheets, who empty the trash cans, and he realized that a lot of them are immigrants, many of them had second jobs, most of them were just scraping by.

He looked out into a sea of people and recognized faces: technicians, secretaries, administrators, therapists, nurses, the people who are the heart and soul of any hospital. People who knew that Beth Israel had hired about a quarter of its 8,000 staff over the last six years and that the chances that they could all keep their jobs and benefits in an economy in freefall ranged between slim and none.

“I want to run an idea by you that I think is important, and I’d like to get your reaction to it,” Levy began. “I’d like to do what we can to protect the lower-wage earners – the transporters, the housekeepers, the food service people. A lot of these people work really hard, and I don’t want to put an additional burden on them.

“Now, if we protect these workers, it means the rest of us will have to make a bigger sacrifice,” he continued. “It means that others will have to give up more of their salary or benefits.”

He had barely gotten the words out of his mouth when Sherman Auditorium erupted in applause. Thunderous, heartfelt, sustained applause.

Paul Levy stood there and felt the sheer power of it all rush over him, like a wave. His eyes welled and his throat tightened so much that he didn’t think he could go on.

When the applause subsided, he did go on, telling the workers at Beth Israel, the people who make a hospital go, that he wanted their ideas.

The lump had barely left his throat when Paul Levy started getting e-mails.

The consensus was that the workers don’t want anyone to get laid off and are willing to give up pay and benefits to make sure no one does. A nurse said her floor voted unanimously to forgo a 3 percent raise. A guy in finance who got laid off from his last job at a hospital in Rhode Island suggested working one less day a week. Another nurse said she was willing to give up some vacation and sick time. A respiratory therapist suggested eliminating bonuses.

“I’m getting about a hundred messages per hour,” Levy said yesterday, shaking his head.

Paul Levy is onto something. People are worried about the next paycheck, because they’re only a few paychecks away from not being able to pay the mortgage or the rent.

But a lot of them realize that everybody’s in the same boat and that their boat doesn’t rise because someone else’s sinks.

Paul Levy is trying something revolutionary, radical, maybe even impossible: He is trying to convince the people who work for him that the E in CEO can sometimes stand for empathy.

Pretty progressive if you ask me ………………………….

the richer giving more to help the poorer among us.

But it definitely went against the reich-wing sound bite

I got mine screw you

they daily feed everyone doesn’t it?

Especially some trolls here who shall remain nameless.

Ann Coulter continues her voter fraud jihad against America

Ann Coulter has always had lots of jihads…

(picture)

This is unfreakingbelievable (not really, but play along). Ann Coulter, who was caught trying to cast her vote in two different towns in Florida a few years back, has now appeared to have tried voting in Connecticut too while living in New York City!!

Voter fraud jihads are a neocon thing.

From the New York Daily News via Think Progress:

Ann Coulter is being probed. Following our Jan. 11 column, Connecticut’s Elections Enforcement Commission is making a “thorough investigation” of whether the conservative pundit broke the law by voting in the Nutmeg State while living in New York City, according to a commission spokeswoman.
Officials are responding to a formal complaint filed by Coulterwatch.com blogger Dan Borchers. “For over 10 years, Ann Coulter has gotten away with illegal, immoral and unethical behavior, ranging from plagiarism to defamation, perjury to voter fraud,” claims the conservative Borchers. Coulter declined to comment, but in the past has branded Borchers a stalker. He says the FBI has determined he poses no threat.

What the hell is wrong with her? Oh wait. She’s a republican, therefore, she makes up the rules and plays it the way she feels it! War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, and voter fraud is democratic.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if she’s also a tax cheater along with a vote cheater.

Asshole.

How’s democracy looking in Iraq these days?

(picture)

Well, this year to make democracy simple in George Bush’s Iraqi Kingdom (you know, the Kingdom he’s says we’ve won in, even though we’re occupying this country and the bombings & violence continue), on the ballet this year the Iraqis will be choosing from 14,500 candidates for 440 seats. Yep! You heard it right!  Democracy is meant to confuse, apparently, in George Bush’s Kingdom, because really without the necessary confusion, lying, and bullshit, George Bush wouldn’t want to ‘retire’ to Iraq since it’s such a buddy democracy! Spit.

From McClatchy Washington Bureau:

BAGHDAD — Iraqi voters next month will see 14,500 candidates vie for 440 open seats on provincial councils, an outpouring of interest in a new phase of Iraqi self-government that could make for a baffling ballot.

The Jan. 31 poll will be the first in a series of votes in Iraq next year that include elections in the semi-autonomous Kurdish region, a national referendum on the new U.S.-Iraq security pact and nationwide parliamentary elections.

The provincial council elections will bring new blood into local governing bodies that were filled by political blocs in Iraq’s 2005 elections. They’ll also give national parties a local toehold to advance their agendas.

Mike Connell, who helped in stealing the 2004 election for George Bush, is dead

(picture credit)

Very interesting. He died in a plane crash near his home yesterday. He was not a nice guy. From The Free Press:

“Ohio Republican Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell hired Connell in 2004 to create a real-time computer data compilation for counting Ohio’s votes. Under Connell’s supervision, Ohio’s presidential vote count was transmitted to private, partisan computer servers owned by SmartTech housed in the basement of the Old Pioneer Bank building in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Connell’s company, New Media Communications worked closely with SmartTech in building Republican and right-wing websites that were hosted on SmartTech servers. Among Connell’s clients were the Republican National Committee, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and gwb43.com, that housed at one point Karl Rove’s missing emails. Rove’s email files have since mysteriously disappeared despite repeated court-sanctioned attempts to review them”

Yep, in the wee hours of election night 2004 while Americans were sleeping, Mike Connell, Ohio’s Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, Karl Rove, and the RNC were orchestrating the steal for George Bush after taking the counting of the computerized ballots offline for 6 hours to be able to do so. We Americans went to bed that night thinking that John Kerry had a clear win over George Bush, because just about every exit poll across the country had Kerry winning. Nope! The right wing of this country electronically deleted a million or so ballots to keep George Bush in power! Assholes.

And now Mike is dead. How come? A suicide or were the Democrats/American Patriots closing in on him and the likes of Karl Rove & George Bush wanted him dead to keep him from talking? We’ll never know, but we Americans do know one thing, the right wing of this country is an abomination to our sovereignty and should disband immediately!
