Why am I not surprised by this? Just like Enron, Goldman Sachs believing they were the smartest people in the room decided to cook Greece’s books to keep the people in the dark….all so they could benefit and no one else!

In 2001, Goldman’s financial alchemists formulated a scheme to allow the Greek government to hide the extent of its rising debt from the public and the European Community’s budget overseers. Under this diabolical deal, Goldman funneled new capital from super-wealthy investors into the government’s coffers.
Fine. Not so fine, though, is that, in exchange, Greek officials secretly agreed that the investors would get 20 years’ worth of the annual revenue generated by such public assets as Greece’s airports. For its part, Goldman pocketed $300 million in fees paid by the country’s unwitting taxpayers.
The financial giant dubbed its airport scheme “Aeolus,” after the ancient Greek god of the wind — and, sure enough, any long-term financial benefit for Greece was soon gone with the wind. By hiding the fact that the government’s future revenues had been consigned to secret investors, Goldman bankers made the country’s balance sheet look much rosier than it was, allowing Greek officials to keep spending like there was no tomorrow.

I don’t expect President Obama to be perfect today, but I cannot wait to see how the republicans treat him! The last time this kind of meeting was held the republicans said they would be on their best behavior and they were. Today? Not sure! As pointed out by Media Matters, Rush Limbaugh and other knuckle draggers have figured out that this is a trap for the republicans and we all know how cornered dogs act! Should be very entertaining, because for the last few months the republicans have been screaming that they ‘weren’t included in the health care debate’, have whined that the ‘health care reform bill is too long!’, and they said many times that they wanted to sit down with the President to have him hear their views and ideas on health care. Well, tah dah! Here we are! Another public meeting for Americans to watch and observe! We know the republicans have been included in the health care debate all along (they have many amendments!) and we know that as early as yesterday John Boner was bitching that Obama’s 11-page outline was too small, and now the republicans will have a second chance to publicly state their ideas and views on health care reform, but none of this means the republicans won’t bitch and complain about something! What the republicans bitch about today will be laughable! Make sure you have a note pad with ya today as you watch. 
If Rep. John Boehner shows up sober to Thursday’s Health Care Summit it would be an absolute shocker, because honestly, Boner right now is really trying to distance himself from President Obama’s 6-Hour-Slaughter. Boner has always been about the length of the Democrat’s health care bill saying it’s too damn long for any drunk guy to read with one eye open, so when President Obama provided an eleven page outline for Boner to read, he now says it’s too damn short (not enough drinking time between chapters now apparently!)!
Buck up Boner! You can do it!!!!! LOL
The republicans are control freaks, so it wasn’t surprising to read that the republicans really want to control the seating arrangement for Thursday, because well, you know, they really don’t want a lot of face time for the Democrat’s to use in their commercials during the 2010 mid-term election!

Seat assignments are no small matter. The event is scheduled to be televised live for nearly six hours, and its outcome could be shaped by whoever gains command of the room — or at least appears to from the vantage point of the four television cameras placed in carefully negotiated spots.
To that end, White House officials have been tussling with Republicans, and the television networks, over the arrangement of the room at Blair House, across the street from the White House.
The initial plan called for Obama and Vice President Biden to sit at the head of a U-shaped table, with some lawmakers seated in front of them like an audience. But Republicans balked and the idea was scrapped. On Tuesday, a White House official said the participants will be seated at tables in a “hollow square setup” — an arrangement Republicans approved of, they said, because it would put them on even footing with the president.

Think Progress pointed out last night that Rep. John Boehner to show his manhood and to show how he has a grasp on republican control of all things far and wide has announced that the republicans will ‘crash the party’ this Thursday giving the impression to their neck drooling teabaggers that they were not invited in the first place. See? I’m telling you….the republicans are running out of oxygen and they’re just grasping at anything right now to save themselves from embarrassment!
I don’t know about you but I expect Boner to show up Thursday drunk with his tie pulled loose and his hair messed up! Should be fun to watch and I plan to.

It appears President Obama is a better poker player than the republicans are. Just a few days ago John Boner lifted his drunk finger in the air, drunkenly winked at the camera, and demanded President Obama put online his health care plan so the republicans wouldn’t be caught with their panties on the ground and their skirts over their shoulders come next week at the Health Care Summit. So, President Obama did just that….yesterday. John Boner’s reaction? He’s pissed! Boner has too much time now to read President Obama’s plan and it’s just not fair! See? He also has to show up next week at the meeting that the republicans called for too. Dammit!
If the republicans manage to take many seats in the House and Senate in the mid-terms this year, wait until they see all the poker moves President Obama will pull on them then! Can’t wait. Calling their bluff will be Obama’s art form.

Drake has been an enthusiastic advocate of imprecatory prayer since he announced that God answered his call with the murder of Kansas abortion clinic doctor George Tiller in church last May. “George Tiller was far greater in his atrocities than Adolf Hitler,” Drake said at the time, “so I am happy. I am glad that he is dead.” This emboldened him to add “the usurper that is in the White House … B. Hussein Obama” to the list said in his church on Sundays.
In Pastor Drake’s own vicious vile ungodly words: “I’m known as a birther, you know. I don’t believe Obama was born in this country. He’s an illegal alien and so forth,” Wiley told me, matter-of-factly. “And so I began to pray what the Bible teaches us to pray and that is imprecatory prayer. An imprecatory prayer is very strong. We all have at least one person in our lives who is a highly paid CEO of a company. This person may not be earning what the CEO’s of the banks, AIG, the car companies, the oil industry, or the health insurance companies are earning, but nonetheless, they are making way more money than you could ever dream of making and are in a powerful position to boot. I have one such person in my life and when one of his 6 paper warehouses burnt for 4 days a year ago around the holidays, I knew how he would react to his employees, who along with the firemen, tried to put the fire out, because they knew they (the employees) would be jobless if they didn’t save it. Well turns out the building was a total loss, but I did not lose faith in my cleaning customer who owns the business, because I knew how he was as a person. He made sure all of his employees still had a job because he cared about them and their families. He paid them to help in the clean-up (as much as they could do anyway) and right now as you read this, they are currently employed within the company either at another warehouse or in some kind of capacity. Not one employee went without a paycheck! My customer made sure his employees were taken care of despite the huge loss and hassle he was experiencing on his end. To me, this is the difference between a good CEO and a bad CEO.
A bad CEO doesn’t give a shit about the employees, their investors or their customers! When was the last time you heard of a large CEO of a bank making sure the financial products they’re offering wouldn’t collapse the company to benefit himself and his insiders on Wall Street? Huh?
The Bad CEO’s of today are the bank executives who ran their companies into the ground by taking huge risks on the backs of American retirees and others. They used the retirees’ money to gamble with to make themselves more money. In the process, over $600 TRILLION in derivatives/CDS was created out of thin air. And who suffered? The American people. And who benefited without regard to the American people, their livelihoods, and who felt the American people should come to THEIR rescue, when it was they themselves who caused the whole catastrophe? That’s right….THE CEO’S of these companies. The thieving shysters didn’t give a shit for their employees, their customers, or even for the stability of Wall Street and our country’s economy. They selfishly thought about themselves and their needs first and then had the gaul to take more of our money to bail them out when they failed the company on purpose.
President Obama is correct. No one likes the idea of over paid athletes or CEO’s who do bad things but get rewarded anyway, but we all know this is the nature of the beast here in America. Capitalism promotes this kind of thing: PROFIT OVER PEOPLE. As George Bush once said, “Money trumps peace” and he was so right, because this is the mantra of the fascist capitalists! They don’t care if they have to bomb the shit out of innocent people to make large amounts of money (use it to launder money from the American taxpayer too!) or take huge financial risks on the backs of the American taxpayer, because their final line is all about stealing as much money as they can without working to make the money. Working hard is not part of capitalism. The employees work hard, but it’s the people at the top of these companies who are the ones who are creating huge financial bubbles knowing full well the people at their companies and the American taxpayer will be the ones to save their asses. Nice huh? BAD CEO’S.
President Obama is trying to put some integrity and trust back into our financial system, but as you’ve noticed, Wall Street hates the idea. My fear is if Obama comes down too hard on the whiny ass titty babies, they will do what they did in September of 2008, which was, AN ELECTRONIC RUN ON THE BANKS where A HALF TRILLION DOLLARS WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE MONEY MARKETS IN 90 MINUTES. This move almost collapsed our financial system and George Bush’s answer to it was to BAIL OUT THE BANKS. Was their an investigation done on where the money went and did anyone ask to trace back to the perpetrator? Nope. Nothing was done. Well, this sort of thing can be done again. Wall Street appears to have a gun to the American people’s head again and one false move by our President or others could cause these selfish people to do that once again!

Glenn Beck is a dangerous man. He has two national microphones a day to rally the right wing fringe of this country and he uses those microphones to spout lies, deceits, and distortions against our first African American President. Van Jones on the other hand didn’t have two national microphones to rally people to his cause, which was to proclaim himself a Commie after the unjustice of the Rodney King trial years ago! That’s right. Out of these two men, Glenn Beck is the dangerous one. Fascism is rearing it’s ugly head again after 8 years of George Bushitler and knowing that Glenn Beck has The Plan to put forth this year….visions of Hitler are dancing in their heads!

Yesterday on Beck’s show he started it out with the story of Melanie Shouse, who died of breast cancer a few days ago after a few years of battling this disease and who worked tirelessly for President Obama’s historic presidential campaign in St. Louis, Missouri despite her ill health. Glenn Beck couldn’t wait to use this story against our president. It was disgusting to listen to! First he started out with the audio of President Obama talking about Shouse’s death. Here’s part of the transcript of what President Obama said (sorry! don’t have the video at this time!):
“I got a letter — I got a note today from one of my staff — they forwarded it to me — from a woman in St. Louis who had been part of our campaign, very active, who had passed away from breast cancer.
“She didn’t have insurance. She couldn’t afford it, so she had put off having the kind of exams that she needed. And she had fought a tough battle for four years. All through the campaign she was fighting it, but finally she succumbed to it. And she insisted she’s going to be buried in an Obama t-shirt.
“But think about this: She was fighting that whole time not just to get me elected, not even to get herself health insurance, but because she understood that there were others coming behind her who were going to find themselves in the same situation and she didn’t want somebody else going through that same thing.
“How can I say to her, “You know what? We’re giving up”? How can I say to her family, “This is too hard”?
“How can Democrats on the Hill say, “This is politically too risky”? How can Republicans on the Hill say, “We’re better off just blocking anything from happening”?
Beck concentrated on the reaction of the audience to Obama’s statement that Shouse wanted to buried in an Obama t-shirt. A couple people had laughed for a second, but then there was a lot of ‘awwwwwwing’ coming from the audience, because they realized they were hearing the last wishes of a woman who had died. A normal reaction. Beck tried to convince his worshipers yesterday that this reaction is “proof” that our president is a liar and not liked too much.
What an ass Beck is!

Beck made the claim that President Obama knew Melanie personally and he was at fault for not getting this woman insurance when she worked on his campaign. (COMPLETELY UNTRUE BECAUSE THERE WERE MILLIONS WORKING ON HIS CAMPAIGN AND MOST WERE UNPAID VOLUNTEERS WHO DIDN’T QUALIFY FOR INSURANCE! HE DID NOT KNOW MELANIE PERSONALLY AND ONLY FIRST HEARD ABOUT HER WHEN SOMEONE ON HIS STAFF FORWARDED HER STORY TO HIM)
Even Gather doesn’t believe the Melanie Shouse story! What is wrong with these people? Are they jealous because no one wants to be buried with their name or mug on a t-shirt or something? Seriously, the fact that a 16 year old girl called Beck the other day to say that she worships him and gets all of her history lessons from him and refuses to listen to her public school history teachers is a sign that this young woman would most likely want Beck’s picture on her shirt! I’m sure many Nazis felt the same way about Hitler. Anyway…
Glenn Beck has a child with disabilities. Should we not believe him? Maybe he is just making that up to gain sympathy for his cause? Hey, could be. If Beck doesn’t give us the truth and the proof about his daughter in the next 10 minutes after this post hits the front page, then we can automatically assume he’s lying about her to benefit his career financially! See?
By the way, Melanie did have insurance when she died, but as explained by her Mother and family, the insurance company would not pay for an expensive treatment that has been known to be “experimental” but has a very good track record. Her mother also pointed out that the insurance company had paid for another “experimental” treatment early on, but that treatment didn’t have a very good track record. At the end of Melanie’s life, she didn’t have the money. She died with insurance of a disease that many women live through today. See? President Obama said she didnt’ have insurance and Beck questioned his “truthiness”. Well, she had insurance but it sure didn’t feel like it to her!
Rest in peace, Melanie. Those of us with compassion in our hearts know that our health insurance system sucks ass and we will work hard to make sure your story is not forgotten! You represent tens of thousands of people in this country who are spending a lot of money a month for insurance with high deductibles only to find out you’re under-insured or your insurance company refuses to pay for lifesaving treatments just to save themselves some money! Now that is a cancer we will rid our nation of!

Since republicans will be in attendance at this meeting at the end of the month, we can call it a “Retard Summit”. See? Sounds about right.
I’ll tell you what the outcome of this summit will be: THE REPUBLICANS WILL PUT FORTH THEIR IDEAS, THEIR IDEAS WILL BE ACCEPTED AND ADDED INTO THE FINAL BILL, AND THEN THE REPUBLICANS WILL VOTE AGAINST THE FINAL BILL! Maybe we should call it the “Asshole Summit”. Hey, either way the republicans won’t let us down. We’ll get to use their comments at this meeting against them for the mid-term elections, though! Should be fun seeing them in favor of change and then in the end voting against change and reform.
One thing is for sure, President Obama is a smart man!
