 Vernon Hunter was working his job at the IRS in Austin, Texas on the day Joseph Stack decided to burn his house down, then drove to the airport to start up his plane, and then proceeded to slam his plane into the IRS building where Hunter stood. Vernon, who was a two tour of duty Vietnam veteran, was working and paying his taxes like the rest of us on that fateful day and is the true hero here….not Joe Stack like Stack’s daughter has said (she has retracted this statement, but it was her first reaction)! We must remember…
Vernon’s life was snuffed out by another American on American soil by an American suicide bomber, you know, a domestic terrorist. Horrific! This is not heroism!
We all define heroism differently, but I believe it’s not heroic to kill innocent people to make a statement like Joe Stack did. That’s what al-Qaeda does. It’s not heroic to drop atomic bombs far above the city onto innocent people like Paul Tibbets did in World War II (hell, after he died he told his family to not say where he’s buried because he didn’t want anyone spitting on his grave. See? A coward!). And….it’s never heroic to go to your workplace to shoot and kill your colleagues all because you didn’t get tenure. These people are not heroes. They’re barbarians who do not deserve any kind of positive recognition at all!

Rest in peace, Vernon. You were a war veteran, a Daddy, a neighbor, a hard worker, a grandfather, a husband, and a good man who was kind. We thank you for your service to our country and for making a good life for yourself and those around you! Vernon was living the American dream. What more can we say? Oh wait….he’s a hero! 
We all have at least one person in our lives who is a highly paid CEO of a company. This person may not be earning what the CEO’s of the banks, AIG, the car companies, the oil industry, or the health insurance companies are earning, but nonetheless, they are making way more money than you could ever dream of making and are in a powerful position to boot. I have one such person in my life and when one of his 6 paper warehouses burnt for 4 days a year ago around the holidays, I knew how he would react to his employees, who along with the firemen, tried to put the fire out, because they knew they (the employees) would be jobless if they didn’t save it. Well turns out the building was a total loss, but I did not lose faith in my cleaning customer who owns the business, because I knew how he was as a person. He made sure all of his employees still had a job because he cared about them and their families. He paid them to help in the clean-up (as much as they could do anyway) and right now as you read this, they are currently employed within the company either at another warehouse or in some kind of capacity. Not one employee went without a paycheck! My customer made sure his employees were taken care of despite the huge loss and hassle he was experiencing on his end. To me, this is the difference between a good CEO and a bad CEO.
A bad CEO doesn’t give a shit about the employees, their investors or their customers! When was the last time you heard of a large CEO of a bank making sure the financial products they’re offering wouldn’t collapse the company to benefit himself and his insiders on Wall Street? Huh?
The Bad CEO’s of today are the bank executives who ran their companies into the ground by taking huge risks on the backs of American retirees and others. They used the retirees’ money to gamble with to make themselves more money. In the process, over $600 TRILLION in derivatives/CDS was created out of thin air. And who suffered? The American people. And who benefited without regard to the American people, their livelihoods, and who felt the American people should come to THEIR rescue, when it was they themselves who caused the whole catastrophe? That’s right….THE CEO’S of these companies. The thieving shysters didn’t give a shit for their employees, their customers, or even for the stability of Wall Street and our country’s economy. They selfishly thought about themselves and their needs first and then had the gaul to take more of our money to bail them out when they failed the company on purpose.
President Obama is correct. No one likes the idea of over paid athletes or CEO’s who do bad things but get rewarded anyway, but we all know this is the nature of the beast here in America. Capitalism promotes this kind of thing: PROFIT OVER PEOPLE. As George Bush once said, “Money trumps peace” and he was so right, because this is the mantra of the fascist capitalists! They don’t care if they have to bomb the shit out of innocent people to make large amounts of money (use it to launder money from the American taxpayer too!) or take huge financial risks on the backs of the American taxpayer, because their final line is all about stealing as much money as they can without working to make the money. Working hard is not part of capitalism. The employees work hard, but it’s the people at the top of these companies who are the ones who are creating huge financial bubbles knowing full well the people at their companies and the American taxpayer will be the ones to save their asses. Nice huh? BAD CEO’S.
President Obama is trying to put some integrity and trust back into our financial system, but as you’ve noticed, Wall Street hates the idea. My fear is if Obama comes down too hard on the whiny ass titty babies, they will do what they did in September of 2008, which was, AN ELECTRONIC RUN ON THE BANKS where A HALF TRILLION DOLLARS WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE MONEY MARKETS IN 90 MINUTES. This move almost collapsed our financial system and George Bush’s answer to it was to BAIL OUT THE BANKS. Was their an investigation done on where the money went and did anyone ask to trace back to the perpetrator? Nope. Nothing was done. Well, this sort of thing can be done again. Wall Street appears to have a gun to the American people’s head again and one false move by our President or others could cause these selfish people to do that once again!

Dick Cheney’s lies about President Obama

It’s pathetic to break a New Year’s resolution before we even get to New Year’s Day, but here I go. I had promised myself that I would do a better job of ignoring Dick Cheney’s corrosive and nonsensical outbursts — that I would treat them, more or less, like the pearls of wisdom one hears from homeless people sitting in bus shelters.
But he is a former vice president, which gives him a big stage for his histrionic Rottweiler-in-Winter act. It is never a good idea to let widely disseminated lies and distortions go unchallenged. And the shrill screed that Cheney unloosed Wednesday is so full of outright mendacity that, well, my resolution will have to wait.
In a statement to Politico, Cheney seemed to be trying to provide talking points for opponents of the Obama administration who — incredibly — would exploit the Christmas Day terrorist attack for political gain. Cheney’s broadside opens with a big lie, which he then repeats throughout. It is as if he believes that saying something over and over again, in a loud enough voice, magically makes it so.
“As I’ve watched the events of the last few days it is clear once again that President Obama is trying to pretend we are not at war,” Cheney begins.
Flat-out untrue.
The fact is that Obama has said many times that we are at war against terrorists. He said it as a candidate. He said it in his inaugural address: “Our nation is at war against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred.” He has said it since.
As Cheney well knows, unless he has lost even the most tenuous grip on reality, Obama’s commitment to warfare as an instrument in the fight against terrorism has won the president nothing but grief from the liberal wing of his party, with more certainly to come. Hasn’t anyone told Cheney that Obama is sharply boosting troop levels in Afghanistan in an attempt to avoid losing a war that the Bush administration started but then practically abandoned?
Cheney knows this. But he goes on to use the big lie — that Obama is “trying to pretend we are not at war” — to bludgeon the administration on a host of specific issues. Here is the one that jumps out at me: The president, Cheney claims, “seems to think that if he closes Guantanamo and releases the hard-core al Qaeda-trained terrorists still there, we won’t be at war.”
Interesting that Cheney should bring that up, because it now seems clear that the man accused of trying to blow up Northwest Flight 253, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was given training — and probably the bomb itself, which involved plastic explosives sewn into his underwear — by al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen. It happens that at least two men who were released from Guantanamo appear to have gone on to play major roles as al-Qaeda lieutenants in Yemen. Who let these dangerous people out of our custody? They were set free by the administration of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
The former vice president expresses his anger that the Obama administration is bringing Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the architect of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, to trial in New York. Cheney is also angry that Obama does not use the phrase “war on terror” all the time, the way the Bush administration used to. But Obama just specifies that we’re at war against a network of terrorists, on the sensible theory that it’s impossible to wage war against a tactic.
Toward the end of his two-paragraph statement, Cheney goes completely off the rails and starts fulminating about how Obama is seeking “social transformation — the restructuring of American society.” Somehow, this is supposed to be related to the president’s alleged disavowal of war — which, of course, isn’t real anyway. It makes you wonder whether Cheney is just feeding the fantasies of the paranoid right or has actually joined the tea-party fringe.
I can find reasons to criticize the administration’s response to the Christmas Day attack. Obama and his team were slow off the mark. Their initial statements were weak. Obama shouldn’t have waited three days to speak publicly, and when he did he should have shown some emotion.
But using a terrorist attack to seek political gain? I have a New Year’s resolution to suggest for Cheney: Ahead of your quest for personal vindication, put country first.
Now when the wingnuts and conservo-tards get their bedwetting panties in a twist, and screech their talking points they have this post to rebut or fail in the talking point idiocy they play with.
But that won’t stop them any more the the facts ever have.

In 2000 when the Supreme Court decided to appoint Bush president (by a 5 to 4 decision), there was consternation on the left. Questions about the shenanigans and the way Katherine Harris violated the rules before and after the election and how the whole system was short circuited to prevent a complete vote count.
No one questioned Bush’s birth, or religion, or patriotism, attacked his family, called for his impeachment in 2000, or attacked his children; especially democratic congress critters .. or most mainstream progressive commentators.
When President Bush was in office, there were calls for his impeachment. It was discussed, debated, reported by the MSM, and even polled about. Some calls came as early as 2003 when he was planning his invasion of Iraq, for an illegal war.

People protested the War, that is to be expected. No national supposed news organization was the central moving agent for those protests (unlike the astroturf teabagging movement).
Nor did progressive protesters refuse to permit citizens from expressing their concerns to their elected representatives like the tea baggers did in Aug 2009.
Other calls came during the revelations of illegal wiretapping after 2005.
No one suggested a coup, because Bush was ignoring the US Constitution.(like a newsmax about president Obama column has done recently)

On March 21, 2006 the New Mexico Democratic Party, at a convention in Albuquerque, adopted a plank to their platform saying “the Democratic Party of New Mexico supports the impeachment of George Bush and his lawful removal from office.”
On March 24, 2007, the Vermont Democratic State Committee voted to support JRH 15, a state legislative resolution supporting impeachment, calling for its passage as “appropriate action.”
On April 28, 2007, the California Democratic Convention passed a resolution for impeachment.
At the federal level action was also taken
On June 16, 2005 Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) assembled an unofficial meeting to discuss the Downing Street memo and to consider grounds for impeachment. Conyers filed a resolution on December 18, 2005 to create an investigative committee to consider impeachment. His resolution gained 38 co-sponsors before it expired at the end of the 109th Congress.
On June 9, 2008, Representative Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), introduced a resolution, H.Res. 1258, to impeach president George W. Bush, which included 35 counts in the articles of impeachment. At the end of the evening on June 10, Kucinich offered a motion to refer HRes 1258 to the House Judiciary Committee. On June 11, the House voted 251-166 to send the resolution to the Committee.
Each of these actions were totally with in the law,
That is how the progressive part of our political structure tried to deal with what they foresaw as illegal activity by the President. They wanted Bush impeached, legally, by the rules of the US Constitution.
In contrast here is what we see from the reich wing in this country after Obama wins an election with out the hijinks in Florida circa 2000.

As soon as I read her plea on my Twitter page, I followed up with a post and now that the story has made national news thanks to Gottalaff’s tireless effort to make it known the right wing fringe has once again reared it’s ugly head, I think it’s time for the Secret Service to investigate the Israeli Jews in Jerusalem who want to kill President Obama too…
How is it we send Israel $2 billion a year and these assholes think it’s okay to publicly exclaim they would like to kill our president? Huh? Americans are not stupid. We know a cover-up when we see it. Since the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11/01, there have been many unanswered questions about these two atrocities and it appears the only answer the FBI and our government will give us is a couple of crumbs and call it good. Well, it’s not good enough. After 9/11/01, the American people demanded to know what actually hit the Pentagon on that fateful morning, because not only was the damage to the building suspect on what created it, but many people said they saw an all white government plane flying around before the Pentagon was hit. To quell the questions Americans were having, Donald Rumsfeld decided to release the “one and only tape” from the grounds of the Pentagon to show Americans that a commercial airliner did indeed hit the building that morning. Here’s the crumb he gave us to watch:
Eight seconds of video was released and all we see is something white hitting the building perfectly level feet off the ground. How the hell could non-experienced pilots bring a commercial airliner in like that? Was I the only one who thought the plane would be coming in at a 45 degree angle to hit the building? I mean, really, how would an inexperienced pilot be able to clear the trees and the cars in the parking lot and bring that plane in level a few feet off the ground? And why is the tape the Pentagon released edited? They say it’s because the camera took a picture seconds apart. Bullshit! Why the hell would the Pentagon (the most secure building in our nation for crying out loud!) have old security cameras on it’s property? Doesn’t make sense. The releasing of this video only added more questions to what actually happened that day.
Fast forward to today and we’re now able to view the videotapes that were in and around the Oklahoma Federal building the day the bombing in 1995 happened. As usual, the FBI gave us crumbs. These videotapes are highly edited and as mentioned in this article over at Huffington Post, it’s what is not on these tapes that is causing Americans to have more questions about what really went on and who was behind the attack! Here’s some of the crumbs the FBI gave us recently….
The problem is….our government was involved in both of these attacks in one way or another. Dick Cheney on the morning of 9/11/01 created a Shadow Government and said that they (the Bush Regime) had to go to the ‘dark side’. Well, I believe this very violent Shadow Government has been in force for years behind the scenes. In fact, I believe that al-Qaida is the base (al-Qaida means “The Base”) of the Bush Family & Friends, Inc. and is their personal death squad to use to get whatever they want. It’s very interesting that the Bush Regime did away with the Able Danger investigation/program. Why? To this day, we don’t know a damn new thing about al-Qaida either. Again, why? Is it because the players of both are on the payrolls of very important known individuals? Hey, could be. Until proven otherwise, I will continue to believe we’ve been duped for years now.

The City Council passed a resolution saying “Mount Vernon City Council is in no way sponsoring the mayor’s event on Sept. 26, 2009, and is not connected to the Glenn Beck event in any manner.”
Norris, a Republican, introduced Beck and emphasized that the honor was for his professional accomplishments, not his political views. He thanked police for providing the extra security.
“It’s a pity we had to spend the kind of money we had to,” he said. “But it’s the price we pay for free speech.”
Beck, 45, mostly stayed away from discussing politics. But he said he didn’t remember politics being so divisive when he was growing up. The country could count on a bright future if people would stop tearing each other apart, he said.
Beck’s roots in Washington are deep. His father ran a bakery in downtown Mount Vernon, and his mother drowned while boating in the Puget Sound when he was a teenager.
Beck’s mother drowned when he was a teenager? Makes you wonder if Beck The Domestic Terrorist pushed his mother overboard, because today he’s the kind of guy to do such a thing. He hates the 9/11 families, he was disgusted by the fact anyone wanted to help those affected by Katrina, and he believes that President Obama is a racist because Obama doesn’t suck Beck’s dick every 5 seconds. I mean, really, could Beck be any scarier than he is today? Maybe we should delve into Beck’s alcoholic past a little bit more than we all have!
From here on out I think it would be in the best interest of our country if the FBI tapped the phones (illegally of course because Beck and others applauded George Bush for doing this for 8 years!) of Beck, the Mormon Church leaders, and the mayor of Mount Vernon, Washington to make sure these connections are not planning on attacking America anytime soon! I can’t wait to hear Glenn Beck’s radio program this morning to see how many protesters he thinks was there on Saturday for the 9/12 Project. Last week he did say to his worshipers that Saturday September 12, 2009 was not the 9/12 Project, so I’m thinking he was a little nervous as to what was going to transpire and was nervous that a million (his estimate) might not show up and didn’t want his name attached to the day….you know….kind of like a preemptive CYA. The DC fire department stated that between 60-70,000 showed up, but no one is sure if they were all there for the 9/12 Project. Read on…
A million angry white Americans did not show up. We now know that there was another event going on that day. The Black Family Reunion was holding their 24th annual gathering on the National Mall as well. If you saw anyone of color at the 9/12 Project on your television chances are they were from this reunion!
Anyway, if 60-70,000 angry white Americans did show up to support Glenn Beck their False Idol, what is next on their agenda? They honesty can’t consider the turn out a success considering way more anti-war Americans showed up to protest at the National Mall for years under Bush. We do know Glenn Beck is echoing Van Jones’ minimum/maximum program where you take a small win and use it to catapult a bigger agenda to change society, so it will be interesting if he will continue to waste his time going after George Bush’s Czars President Obama’s “Czars” or if he, Freedom “Moveon” Works, and their lobbyists will have a new strategy to overtake the government to instill an authoritarian oil theocracy for America? Huh. Makes you wonder if Sarah Palin will be involved…

Our country will be attacked viciously again as it was on 9/11/01. Hey, the Kristol/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz crowd got away with it the first time around so why wouldn’t they give it a whirl again? The republican party is so dead right now that they have to have an attack to rally their army and they also have an agenda to fulfill that they started under George W. Bush. Newt Gingrich & Mike Huckabee are talking about electromagnetic bombs exploding over American cities and Dick Cheney said a few months ago that he knows for a fact that the next attack on America is going to be nuclear (which tells most of us that he’s in the background conspiring for one). That’s comforting, huh? And now with Sarah Palin in the mix, Glenn Beck will be able to use her at some point to point their worshipers away from the truth one more time!
George Bush didn’t get Osama bin Laden, so that means the next 9/11-styled attack will be blamed on him!
Should be interesting what Maximum Program Glenn Beck and the other fascists are working on. Something tells me people are going to get hurt at the hands of madmen again.
