I have to agree with Dr. Ron Paul who said this past weekend, what I’ve been saying for years now…

We’ve slipped away from a true Republic. Now we‘re slipping into a fascist system where it’s a combination of government and big business and authoritarian rule and the suppression of the individual rights of each and every American citizen.”

And the MULTI0-MILLIONAIRE Rick Santorum has been in the midst of fusing BIG Business with Big Government working through such entities as the “K Street Project” that sent Jack Abramoff to prison. Since being voted out of office by a landslide in 2006, Santorum’s tax returns for the past 4 years show he has “earned” $3.6 MILLION even though presenting himself in the Republican primaries as both a social conservative and a Washington outsider. He even “wrote off” his German-made Audi as a “business expense”! All the while he loves to stress his POOR family’s coal-mining background to appeal to religious and working-class voters. However, Rick has never gotten his hands dirty in a coal mine!!! With the amount of time he spends away from his domicile, you can be sure he doesn’t get his hands clean washing the big load of dirty dishes that must pile up there regularly (but isn’t that a “woman’s job”?). Santorum’s personal finances detail the trajectory of a politician who has become a millionaire by capitalizing on his Beltway connections.

Does Rick Santorum realize that pre-natal care has SAVED thousands of babies (and even mothers) from death?

    http://open.salon.com/blog/sar.....daughter_1

Of course Rick is NEVER HOME to care for his critically ill daughter (that’s a woman’s job!). Who is to tell a woman, even a husband that they must carry to term a most handicapped fetus…mentally, physically or both. As someone with two Down’s individuals in my family (both born to mothers in their mid-40′s). I know of the extreme hardship such children can make upon a family, both financially and time-wise. My aunt was extremely retarded, and deaf/dumb on top of everything else. She was not capable in her time to be educated as no expensive special education was available from public school districts until only a few decades ago. My grandmother spent the rest of her life giving up everything to care for her daughter, who required 24/7 care and observation (she tended to try to set fires or run away!). My grandmother no longer had a social life, no time to travel much out of the house, rarely time to go shopping due to being so tied to caring for her child. People shopped for her. Yes, it was a choice my Nanna lived with but shouldn’t every family have a CHOICE whether they want to live a normal life or a life where a handicapped child consumes nearly every waking minute and extra dollar? Somebody has to pay, whether an insurance company or a government health agency (that is US folks).

Isn’t he funny? All he cares about is becoming president and could care less that his wife and kids are home and one is dying! Can you imagine if every single solitary baby with Down’s was born? Ricky would be bullshit that the welfare program was being used so much! These right wingers don’t care about babies after they’re born. All they care about is taking their rights away…

Coal miners don’t have manicured fingernails, wear cashmere sweater vests, nor drive high-priced German-made Audis!

Off topic but today is Sen. Olympia Snowe’s 65th birthday meaning she is now eligible for Social Security and government Medicare!!! However, their big pension is far greater than what they will receive from SS.

  5. Grant in Houston says:

Today the Texas Health and Humans Services Commission (HHSC) took action to end the Women’s Health Program (WHP) that had been providing low-income women with basic preventive health care.

HHSC is supposed to manage health care services for the poor — not eliminate them. But due to constant bullying and pressure from right-wing anti-woman organizations, that is exactly what they have done.

This politically motivated attack today by GOP woman haters takes away health care from 130,000 more of our state’s most vulnerable women, many of them single mothers, eliminating annual exams, cancer screenings and birth control.

Today’s attack follows Governor Perry and anti-women’s health politician’s actions last year when they shamefully politicized women’s health and cut state family planning programs by $73 million leaving more than 360,000 women without access to basic, lifesaving care.

With today’s action, now nearly 500,000 poor women across Texas will now be without basic health care. The REICH so LOVE the fertilized egg, but seem to forget about people after they are born.

Tony Norman of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette warns Democrats to not pin their hopes that Santorum might face Obama in November.

I think it is irresponsible to underestimate the appeal of a demagogue when so many Americans are suffering and the public mood is so mercurial. All it would take would be a few weeks of $5 a gallon gas and a Democratic electorate demoralized because of some administration misstep to put even the strangest protest candidacy into play.

Mr. Santorum is a principled culture warrior who doesn’t believe in evolution, man-made global warming, sex for purposes other than having children, separation of church and state, tax-financed public education (except by Penn Hills of his home-schooled kids), a Constitutional right to privacy, contraception, some forms of prenatal testing, or freedom of conscience if it contradicts his church’s edicts or his party platform.”

    http://www.post-gazette.com/pg.....92-153.stm

Now on the Glenn Beck show, Santorum denounces a college education saying that going to college might make one less gullible to swallow religious myths!

    http://thehill.com/blogs/ballo.....octrinated

And if you think China, India, and most of the world are beginning to whiz by the USA now in science and technology, wait until we become the most ignorant nation on the planet!

    • KayInMaine says:

“Most Ignorant Nation” is the right wing’s goal, Grant!

      • Grant in Houston says:

I guess my blue-collar UNION Republican parents were “snobs” according to Ricky Santorum as they encouraged all of us kids to go to college. No wonder Santorum’s wife has to home-school their kids….he’s afraid they might learn critical thinking skills !!!

        • KayInMaine says:

Grant, Icky Ricky hates non-religious colleges because he doesn’t want people to learn things. See? He really wants a robotic country worshiping his beliefs.

  7. KayInMaine says:

Cheryl Murray wrote on Twitter tonight: “Rick Santorum is terrified that an educated person might think for themselves and figure out he’s full of crap.”

So true! Icky Ricky is TERRIFIED of smart people who are FREE THINKERS!

  8. KayInMaine says:

Icky Ricky hates the idea of young Americans going to college today, but back in 2006 he was aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalll for it:

    • Grant in Houston says:

Maybe Santorum only wants rich white kids to go to college. By calling Obama a “snob” he is in essence calling him “uppity” and you know we can’t trust those “uppity” Negroes. The dog whistles are getting so loud from the racist Republicans we can all hear them now.

Half of my family are Catholic and NONE of them sound much like Ricky Santorum. I’ve even got four Catholic “in vitro” nieces and nephews now, a procedure that is acceptable by the Vatican but the GOP radicals would even ban the practice in the several “personhood” laws being pushed by Republican legislators. Is little Ricky trying to be more Catholic than the Pope? What next, Ricky seducing altar boys???

Comedian Bill Maher said Rick Santorum “thinks about gay sex more than any gay man in America” and suggested that Elisabeth Hasselbeck of The View has let religion make her crazy, too.

“For some people religion is like great sex, they just can’t think straight when they’re on it.”

Maher believes Santorum is the craziest of all the Republican candidates left in the presidential primary, probably a reason he just contributed $1 MILLION to the Obama SuperPAC. Maher says that Santorum is so “sexually frustrated” that it’s got him wanting to bomb Iran.
