  1. The Republicans are falling over themselves to CONDEMN President Obama for finally getting our nation out of Iraq while also condemning Obama for assisting NATO in taking down Moammar Gadaffi. Our Libyan victory cost less than $2 billion not ONE American soldier was killed. Think Progress has a list of what the Bush attack on Iraq cost our nation.

8 years, 260 days since Secretary of State Colin Powell presented evidence of Saddam Hussein’s biological weapons program

8 years, 215 days since the March 20, 2003 invasion of Iraq

8 years, 175 days since President George W. Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” speech on the USS Abraham Lincoln

    4,479 US military fatalities

    30,182 US military injuries

    468 contractor fatalities

    103,142 – 112,708 documented Iraqi civilian deaths

    2.8 million internally displaced Iraqis

$806 billion in federal funding for the Iraq War through FY2011

$3 – $5 trillion in total economic cost to the United States of the Iraq war according to economist Joseph E. Stiglitz and Linda J. Blimes

$60 billion in US expenditures lost to waste and fraud in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001

0 weapons of mass destruction found in Iraq

    • Thanks for posting TP’s list, Grant! I read that today on TP and it was on my FB posted by others. The money we spent on Libya is PEANUTS compared to what George Bush’s illegal occupation of a sovereign nation cost us!

      • And Obama’s “leading from behind” in Libya made the USA look like helpers, not IMPERIALISTS, unlike in much of the Arab world where America is often hated. The Iraqis have good reason to HATE US for killing so many of their innocent people and with Bush bombings (the much GOP lauded “Shock and Awe”) destroyed so many of their homes, businesses, and much infrastructure making their daily life miserable for nearly a decade now.

Richard Engel, the top notch Arabic speaking war correspondent who has lived in the Middle East for over a decade, reports that he feels love everywhere he travels in Libya. He said he cannot pay for coffee anywhere as a Libyan will step up and insist on paying his bill. And this is love for Americans from a nation where the majority grew up hearing nothing but anti-American hate from Qaddafi’s propaganda machine.

Obama is a proven WORLD LEADER using diplomacy first and only resorting to war as a last resort. Now for him to ease us out of Afghanistan, another BUSH war and FAILURE.

        • Yep! So true Grant! I was telling my brother tonight (who is not very political) that the Libyan people love America and our way of life and still see our nation as a beacon of light! Our hope is that they strive to have democracy in some form. Would love it! I have my fingers crossed they go down that path. :D
