Keith has a special comment about the oil leak, aimed at Obama. I’m already throwing up just thinking about it. Keith gets so preachy, bombastic and self righteous….and I usually agree with him. The tease for it said something like, this isn’t Obama’s Katrina, but he wants some symbolism.
Should be interesting what Keith says, Jim. As always, I don’t let others determine what I think, so Keith’s remarks tonight won’t have any bearing. Most that I’ve talked to have no clue on how to stop this oil leak almost a mile below the surface of the water. What a shame this disaster has become. Even if they stop the leak tomorrow, the damage has already been done. When the EPA told BP Oil to NOT USE DISPERSANTS on the oil….BP ignored this and did it anyway. Not only is there oil in the water but now there is more toxic chemicals to the already contaminated water. Gawd! I can’t stand it. The thought of it makes my stomach turn. I feel so bad for all on the Gulf Coast who make their living on it, as well as, all the wildlife & scenery that is or will be effected! Ugh. BP has the technology and it’s a damn shame that they have NO PLAN IN PLACE for this kind of emergency. Disgusting!!!

I have met Rep. Solomon Ortiz, even sat in his chair in his D.C. office. Although about 70% of Mexican-Americans are Catholic, he is Pentecostal! Also his Corpus Christi district has two US Navy Air Stations, so maybe kowtowed to them. However, South Texas with its Hispanic majority is fairly safe for Democrats.
Many of the other Blue Dogs are in swing states, “red” to “purple” districts more than a safe “blue”. Rep. Donnelly is from my hometown of South Bend, Indiana, traditionally a strong Democratic district with mostly labor union members, Notre Dame University academics, but like Donnelly himself, VERY Roman Catholic. Remember, gay sex is only for the clergy!!!

Remember Jim Webb was appointed Sec. of the Navy by Ronald Reagan before he eventually became a “conservadem” like Arlen Specter. He had been a long time opponent of women serving in the military, even calling females in uniform “thunder thighs” while Secretary! Webb supported REPUBLICAN George Allen in his successful 2000 US Senate race against LBJ’s son-in-law Charles Robb. Webb bad-mouthed John Kerry in 2004 for opposing the Vietnam war after returning home, working with VVAW. With Bush’s popularity plummeting, Webb opposed the Bush attack on Iraq and became a “Democrat”….OPPORTUNISM?
Maybe Webb is a closeted Marine? There was once a big bust of over 100 Marines earning extra money in gay porn in San Diego County.
