Was the Pentagon shooter a left wing extremist or a right wing extremist?

I suppose it doesn’t matter because John Patrick Bedell decided to terrorize the Pentagon by getting in his car in California and driving across the country with the intention of killing people. He’s a terrorist. Yes, he may have a history of mental illness, but he knew enough to make a plan with the end result being people dead via his own hand!

Bedell’s own online rants show he was pro-marijuana, a gun owner, anti-government, pro-individual-property-rights, he hated George W. Bush, and he was a 9/11 Truther (meaning he questioned the role of our government in the events of that day). Does this make him a lefty in your eyes? It could, but as Little Green Footballs points out…..he appears to be more of a Ron Paul supporter, you know, a Libertarian.  Hell, Bedell could also be considered a Glenn Beck supporter for all the same reasons, and as we know, Beck has said he’s a Libertarian on the air many times. He’s proud of this fact. The issues Bedell rallied for and against are the things Paul and Beck also rally for and against.

Does labeling him a 9/11 Truther mean he’s really a left wing extremist? No, because there are many republicans in our nation too who have questioned the events of 9/11. I myself am one who has questioned 9/11 and I believe that the Bush Regime either allowed 9/11 to happen (remember, there wasn’t any interruption of the events that day! It went very smoothly! Key people on that morning were working their first day of their new job. How convenient!) or had some part in it. Just recently in the Texan republican primary for governor, Debra Medina (the Tea Party candidate) was asked by Glenn Beck on his radio show if she was a 9/11 Truther. Medina quickly stated that there are lots of questions surrounding that day and the people of this country have a right to ask them. See? Even a Tea Partier can make sense every once in a while! We can question our government and it doesn’t make you a loony either. Medina’s response caused an uproar and it may have had something to do with her losing in the primary (she’s not giving up by the way), but the point of bringing her up is to show that questioning the events of 9/11 and wondering aloud if our government was involved or allowed it to happen for power, control, greed, and financial gain is an American thing. It can’t be labeled left or right because many Americans do question what the hell it was we witnessed that horrific morning.

By the way, Glenn Beck talked about the Pentagon shooter yesterday morning on his radio program. He was quick to label Bedell as a lefty 9/11 Truther. I swear he did that to protect himself. He knows he’s woken the right wing crazies in our nation and is now trying to remove any blame he may have from himself. Beck is truly dangerous, because unlike Van Jones who proclaimed himself a Commie back in the 1990’s after the Rodney King trial, Beck is the one who has two national microphones a day to spew his Mormon-Libertarian-Militia rants to millions of people! Van Jones? He had no power at all. See the difference? I do.

So, what do you think about Bedell? Is he a lefty or a righty or does it not matter?

It hardly matters what he was, as the villagers and assorted nutzoids out there will define him by whatever definition is most helpful to their agenda.

As I’ve stated before, the whole left v right narrative is nothing more than a diversion instigated by the Bilderbergers and their ilk, to keep everyone too occupied to notice the true nature of the game. The fact too often overlooked in today’s heated rhetoric is that some of the issues thrust at our feet are neither left nor right. They are simply issues central to the human experience, the quality of our lives. The propagandists, the slaves to their moneyed masters, frame the argument in such a way to cause division among the Plebes, of which far too many lack the education, intellect, or curiosity to question what they see or hear at CNNBCBSFOX.

Much like the nagging questions that remain unanswered regarding the true nature of what transpired on 9/11, the truth is far more likely to come by way of the internet, as the MSM consists (largely) of hired-for-hairdo “spokespersons” who regurgitate, ad nauseum, the tired and threadbare talking points, as required by their corporate sponsors. Small wonder their have been, and contniue to be threats to net neutrality, content, and access.

Speaking of corporate masters, here’s one I heard on NPR on my way home yesterday evening. Damn near caused me to puke all over my dashboard. In an effort to help with their budget shortfall, the Florida Legislature is considering legislation which would allow corporate sponsorship of license plates. That’s right. If this passes, Florida motorists will have the option of carrying corporate logos on their tags. Truly an exercise in stupidity, as such motorists would become rolling billboards for the very cretins fucking them out of the “American Dream.”

I agree with George Carlin; it’s called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.

As a person who was in and out of mental institutions several times, Bedell focused his paranoia on “big bad government”, so I would not label him as anything but mentally ill. Breaching the perimeter of the Pentagon with its many armed guards, it looked like suicidal “death by cop” which the weak often employ when they don’t have the courage to take their own lives. Plus it lets them leave their “message” to a larger audience on their flame-out.

I do fear that we will have more “copy-cat” incidents and having people like Glenn Beck enflaming the weak minded doesn’t help. Just this past week a Detroit area man threatened to fly a plane into Houston’s 80-story Chase Bank building, the second tallest building in the U.S. west of the Mississippi. Sean Donnelly was upset with Chase over an appraisal of a property he owned. Donnelly, a registered sex offender who has an extensive criminal record including two felony arson convictions, didn’t appear to have any political scores to settle. It’s not clear he even can pilot a place or had access to a plane.

While the left want to blame a talk show the real blame falls upon s government that is out of control and every day taking away the freedoms and destroying the constitution. The blame also falls on the shoulders of sites like this that supports the government both dem and republican who no longer represent the people of the usa but only special interest groups and causes. Until the people make a change we are going to list all of our freedoms.

      WhackoFan,

List out the rights you’ve lost under President Obama and then list out how he’s destroyed the U.S. Constitution. Show us where we here at White Noise Insanity support the government when there’s either a repuke or Dem at the helm and then show us how we support special interest groups. Thanks moron!

From the Coffee Party’s Facebook page today:

One hundred and five years ago, Theodore Roosevelt declared in his State of the Union speech, “All contributions by corporations to any political committee or for any political purpose should be forbidden by law; directors should not be permitted to use stockholders’ money for such purposes.”

But yet…..the right wingers are absolutely fine with the SCOTUS ruling that corporations are people when it comes to our elections. This just goes to show ya the difference between those Americans who understand the Constitution and the laws of our nation and those WHO DO NOT. They’re Tories!!!!! The Red Coats are coming!!!!! So, please join your local Coffee Party in your area on March 13th!

Right wing? Left Wing? Crazy…Yes! Angry…Yes! While a lot of the blame can and should be placed on voices like Rush, Beck, Bachmann, Palin and others in the republican party, we shouldn’t underestimate the anger towards our government, towards both parties.

If anyone really cares about our country they must be concerned with the indisputable fact that our politicians from both parties are bought and paid for whores from the corporations.

Both parties bailed out the banks, members of both parties have sold out to the health insurance industry, when are we the people going to be represented in the way corporations are?

At this point whether it’s a right winger going nuts or a left winger going nuts, one thing is clear, these people do not like what has become of our government. Should there have been more concern during the Bush administration, yes, but as long as we keep on fighting this left/right paradigm, those in control will keep on robbing us all blind.

I pray that someday American citizens on the right and left could join together as one to stand up to our corporate owned government. We are the only ones who can stop this madness in DC.

This is why I applaud the citizens of Iceland and their protest over the banks and the debt that they will acquire thanks to the greed of a few. American could learn a lot from the Icelanders!

Nice post IP and one I totally agree with, wow that hurt. Both parties, or all three, are out for one thing and that is themselves. To hell with the American citizen.

I supported Obamas stance on no lobbying and wish he would have held true to it. In his defense, there are to many special interests for one man to overcome.

We have the best government corporate money can buy.

Article in today’s Houston Chronicle about the touted clamp down on bank credit cards appears to be more smoke and mirrors.

It sounds like a victory for credit card users — a rule that would require banks to review any interest rate hikes every six months, and lower rates when appropriate.

Yet loopholes in the Federal Reserve’s latest proposal could let banks avoid rolling back rates in most cases.

So once again the powerful get the RULES written to favor them and screw the small people.

Sad but so true Grant. The credit card legislation is a joke! They could at least have pressured the credit card companies to changing back to the original % rates of their customers cards.

The H.A.M.P. (home affordable modification program) has been a complete and utter failure as the government refuses to play tough with the banks especially those who were bailed out.

The program was suppose to help home owners save their homes with refinancing or loan modifications to no avail. The banks have found they can make more profit on foreclosure than to actually help the home owner.

The health care bill as Dennis Kucinich said is just a bailout for the health insurance
companies, just like medicaid part d was a bail out for the pharmaceutical companies.

All of the corporations, banks, Wall Street, insurance companies are feeding at the government trough while the people on Main Street continue to be ignored. ENOUGH WITH THE LIP SERVICE! WE WANT ACTIONS NOT WORDS!

  10. Grant says:

I shredded all of my credit cards five years ago and only use one debit card that also gives me frequent flier miles on Continental and other Star Alliance airlines. At one time I had over two dozen cards, most with department stores and gasoline companies. Right after 9/11, during the anthrax scare, one of my old bankcard companies with an office in Delaware said I had been LATE in getting in my payment. I called them and argued WHY it only took 2-3 days for a bill to get to me in Texas thus could not understand why it took 9 days for my check to return to Delaware in the mail. Also they sent out bills then with short turnaround times which I think has been changed in the new legislation.

After all the bankcard companies can say they receive a payment any day they wish, it’s their word! That “late” credit card zoomed from 9% to over 30% and after the credit bureaus reported the new rate, the rest of my credit card creditors then followed suit, interest rates zooming up even though none of them had been late. Going into retirement, living on two pensions, there was no way I could pay the minimums, so I sold off some stock I had inherited and paid off balances (paying off/closing accounts also lowered my credit rating as it seems banks don’t like to see folks without debt). I find I can do without any cards at all using my debit card for all payments, rarely writing a check anymore. I just try to maintain a healthy balance in my account. If I want to make a major purchase, I do like my parents did in the olden days of layaway….save up the money. Of course I don’t get what I want RIGHT NOW, but then I never pay any interest either.
