I love the above picture of Seth. He looks like a Mainah! LOL And yes Grant, there are Olympians all over our great country and there are ice champions in the good ole state of Texas (minus the neck droolers of course!) too!

We are so proud of Seth. We're proud of Bode Miller too who grew up in New Hampshire but spent a lot of time on Sugarloaf Mountain as well. :-)

We should be proud of our Olympians who represent us. Not to take away from Seth, but for the Texas-bashers out there, our state has also produced several winter Olympians.

Although we never have natural ice in Houston, the area has several indoor ice rinks that have given the US team some champion skaters like racer Chad Hedrick who brought home 3 medals from the 2006 games. Chad was an inline skate champion before trying ice in 2002. He is now 32 but may still have a chance this year.

Upscale suburban Sugar Land, Texas, had a couple entered in pairs competition last night, Amanda Evora and Mark Ladwig (didn't medal however). Evora was born in the Philippines. Sugar Land also gave us Tara Lipinski who won the 1998 ladies figure skating gold medal. I do get the Olympics in my Rio de Janiero hotel room with Portuguese speaking commentators!

This is the rink about 5 miles from my house near NASA:
