Is it bad that President Obama has kept some of George Bush’s people in their positions?

waristerrorwordwisewebphoto

Nope, and I’ll tell you why. By doing so, President Obama has basically cut off the testicles of the right wing of this country, because as Karl Rove proved recently…..blaming Michael Teiter of the National Counterterrorism Center for the failures of the Christmas Day bombing attempt, he’s basically blaming George Bush!

Oh man I love it. What is the right wing going to run on this year during the 2010 mid-term elections when President Obama has kept in some of George Bush’s key people from his 8 years of terror and has kept a portion of George Bush’s policies in place? Huh? Anyone know?

George Bush’s policies don’t work and they’re un-Constitutional!

For a political party who is always touting how big and strong their ‘toolbox’ is between their legs and how it’s only the white republican who can save our country from sheer disaster, I guess it’s President Obama who will be holding up your testicles at the end of this year for the country to see! I smell some victory do you? Bah hahahahahahahahaha!

After the mid-term election is over and even if the republicans pick up a few seats in the Senate, President Obama is going to do a 180 degree turn from what he’s done over the last year. He will try to push through some real change and you watch…..the right wing will continue to block and they may be successful. And guess what? President Obama will then use the right wing’s “We Hate Americans! Don’t Care If You’re Safe Or Not!” meme against them in 2012!

  1. Fox showed only one third of the Obama press conference yesterday as they didn’t want to cut into any of Glenn Beck’s time on air. By contrast, MSNBC and CNN broadcast the ENTIRE press conference, which continued an additional 28 minutes after Fox cut away. What the Fox viewers missed were explanations given by BUSH APPOINTEE, John O. Brennan, who is now Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Adviser for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism.

Sec. of Defense Robert Gates was okay when he served under Bush, so what’s happened to him since Obama asked him to stay on? The reich cannot find one good thing to say for Obama.

  2. Just read that Obama will keep Republican Robert Gates on for at least another year as Sec. of Defense. Oh, that Obama is so partisan! /snark IMO, Obama isn’t partisan enough and trying to hard to “play nice” with Republicans who only wish to destroy him, even our nation if that is what it takes to get back into power.

  3. Wish you still had the “preview” function, Kay. Before a TROLL comes down on my spelling, sbark should’ve been SNARK (“n” is next to “b” on my keyboard) and it should have been “too hard to”…

  4. Just read an article that said Bush has been out of office a year. The people Obama has are his choice to keep and he must feel they are qualified. After all he keeps Napolitano and Geitner, one who said everything worked as planned and the other who asked AIG to keep quiet about his proposed shady deals.

I know Bush was terrible, with 4% unemployment

    LIAR;

unemployment was 7.7% when bush stopped shitting in Washington

and double digit gains in the stock market,

    wrong again BOZO;

when bush started shitting in Washington the Dow was 10,578.24

when he stopped shitting in Washington the Dow was 8,122.80

First president since Hoover to lose that much in the DOW percentage wise

    at least until 2007,

Nice to see the arbritary cut off to NOT admit the crash bush was responsible for … (using your twisted logic)

but it is tough to blame him for what is taking place today with terrorists,

    No it isn’t, He put in place the intell system that failed, remember bush and the republiscum congress overhauled it, they didn’t allow democratic party input;

and Bush and Cheney not President Obama were the ones who approved the releases from Gitmo, because they fucked up so badly they couldn’t competently try anybody which is why they failed miserably in that point.

I don’t blame Obama or his Nobel winning speech writers either.

Didn’t win any Nobel prises for his speeches son,

but a bed wetting coward like you can’t tell the whole truth can ya son?

  5. The Atlanta TROLL probably believes Rudy Guiliani who is telling the LIE (more than once now so it’s NOT a temporary loss of memory) that there were NO attacks of terrorism on the homeland during the Bush years and now there is one (without any loss of life BTW) on Obama’s watch. Here Rudy lies to Larry King:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g-vtDwxWj8

It’s not memory loss as Dana Perino said the same thing in November on Sean Hannity’s show, when she labeled the gunfire at Ft. Hood a “terrorist attack” and said there had been no cases of terrorist attacks during her old boss’s 8 years! Mary Matalin said essentially the same thing so it must be the NEW Republican talking point that is to be repeated and repeated until some boneheads like Ralph here believe it hook, line, and sinker.

How about 9/11, Anthrax, Shoe Bomber Reid (tried in a civilian court), 2002 attack against El Al ticket counter at LAX, and homegrown reich-wingers like the murderer of Dr. Tiller, Jim Adkinson who walked into a Knoxville Unitarian Church to “kill liberals”, the guy in Pittsburgh who killed three cops because he was mad that Obama wanted to take away his guns, and the D.C. sniper John Muhammad.

    http://mediamatters.org/blog/201001080036

Maybe these Republicans are correct IF they know that 9/11 was possibly a false flag operation by our government and not an attack by Islamic terrorists. Maybe it was a “slip of the tongue” on their part!!!

  6. Once again atlanta ralph shows the world that his head is planted firmly and deeply up his ass.

Hey ralphie you better pull your head out because the lack of oxygen is killing your pea brain.

  7. Isn’t instilling fear the main goal of terrorism?

Given that, the Republic Party has been in the terrorism business for at least 9 years. PNAC worked up the blueprint. Making people very afraid did keep them in power for awhile, however.

The American Taliban says, “If we can’t present “history” the way we want it, we’ll just rewrite it and scare the daylights out of everyone in the process. Whether or not they eventually succeed will depend upon the attention and intelligence of the American people. Groups like MoveOn should blanket the air with commercials revealing all of these LIES, not let them go uncorrected.

  8. Always nice to see the left doing what they do best, accept no responsibility and blame someone else.

“unemployment was 7.7% when bush stopped shitting in Washington”

Truth was according to the BLS it was 4.7% in 2006, prior to the democratic majority in 2007.

But widdle one Bush was still shitting in Washington, and HIS economic team NOT the congress was in charge of the economy, Bernanke, Paulson, ET Al (with the ghosts of Greenspan, Snow, still hangin’ around) were much more responsible for the economy then congress ever was 2007-2008, and how unemployment is influenced by their DIRECT actions.

See this is how reich wing bed wetters lie, they try to shift the blame from the person who APPOINTED the people responsible to others who had no DIRECT control over the economy.

So what did he win it for since he has not done anything unless you consider his transparent administration, big lie, his no lobbyist, big lie, tax cut for 95% of Americans, big lie, stand up for the greedy insurance companies and Pharma, big lie, close Gitmo by 2010, big lie, no Pork, big lie.
Just why did he get the Nobel Peace Prize?

Don’t know, why don’t you ask the Nobel Committee instead of making up lies son?

“when bush started shitting in Washington the Dow was 10,578.24″

Dow was 12315 at the end of 2006 before the democrats gained majority in 2007.

But widdle one Bush was still shitting in Washington, and HI economic team NOT the congress was in charge of the economy, Bernanke, Paulson, ET Al (with the ghosts of Greenspan, Snow, still hangin’ around) were much more responsible for the economy then congress was, and how unemployment is influenced by their DIRECT actions.

So in reality your vaunted 12315 is as a result of the bubble Greenspan ET Al blew up by keeping interest rates arbitrarily low, and the SEC among other allowing Wall street and the banks to ignore regulations about loans and investments, w hen that bubble burst we all saw what the DOW was really worth, and it isn’t close to what you claimed.

Clinton on the other hand started with a Dow at near 4000 and handed bush a Dow 2 1/2 times as high, bush not so much.

See this is how reich wing bed wetters lie, they try to shift the blame from the person who APPOINTED the people responsible to others who had no DIRECT control over the economy.

Clif it does seem that your facts are not accurate.

Yes they are, you are using an arbitrary cut off point, and blaming the wrong people, congressional action does NOT directly influence the economy, it takes months and most time years before laws written by congress effect the economy, the only direct action congress could have taken was a stimulus action, like they did after President Obama took office, or how they acted to bail out wall street like bush, bernanke and paulson begged the to, and that was a stimulus for wall street and greedy large banks. Only DIRECT actions like those which are taken by the FED, Treasury or maybe SEC do son, try learning how it really works instead of regurgitating the shit you eat daily off the reich wing media, like faux noise or the fat drug addicted asshole

    • The unemployment numbers under George Bush were a farce…created to make it appear as Bush was the Savior for All Mankind!

The DOW under George Bush went up to 14,000 and was under 8,000 when he left. Just a fake “rich” society created so those in the know could steal America’s riches!

  9. So to dig out of your hole, our troll is now going back to 2006 when Bush was STILL president and Democrats a MAJORITY of 49 seats and depended upon Joe Lieberman as the 50th “Democrat” plus Cheney was still there to break any tie votes…hardly a majority to force the Bush/Cheney administration to do anything when most often 60 votes are needed. The House had 233 Democratic seats to 202 for the Republicans but hardly effective when there were 35 active “blue dogs” from mostly red states that more often than not vote like Republicans.

Bush vetoed 7 bills that the 110th Congress had passed including he SCHIP bill to ensure children. Conservatives also defeated 17 other bills, mostly backed by Democrats.

  10. Now Jim it will be the companies that make full body scanners and the like. Buy your stock now! Profit from terror.

  11. NPR has a story that reports that many progressives will stay at home this fall and not vote due to Obama’s disappointing them. A sure way to get the Republicans back into power so then these progressives can whine some more!!!

“There has been a great sense of disappointment among some of President Obama’s strongest supporters,” Green says.

If that doesn’t change, he says, a lot of Democrats either won’t vote or won’t volunteer as foot soldiers for Democratic candidates in the upcoming year.

  12. Like “I want it all my way or I take my dolls and go home!”

We didn’t have Little League when I was growing up after WWII, so played unsupervised sandlot baseball. One rich spoiled brat used to have a lot of baseball equipment…balls and bats, and if something didn’t go his way, would take them all home shutting down our games. However, my father was a manager of an industrial league team and started giving us the broken bats and used balls. We glued and taped up the splintered bats and thus had back up for when the spoiled kid would throw his tantrums. When he discovered we could play baseball without him, he settled down a bit and became more cooperative. A lesson that some Democrats might take to heart.

  13. Grant isn’t the voter turnout historically lower during mid-term elections? The democratic party definitely has their work cut out for them to mobilize and energize the base.

The republicans know this and are pandering to the extremists and independents who aren’t happy with the direction health care reform went.

Throw in unemployment, the economy and the bailouts and one could say the democrats could be in trouble IF intelligent Americans forget about the 8 years of Bush and the 6 years of a republican majority under Bush.

The democrats in my opinion have allowed the republicans to control the message and form public opinion through lies and fears in the media. Blatant republican lies need to be forcefully refuted by the democrats immediately after they are spewed.

The democrats need to start fighting and they need to do something that makes them look like they are watching the backs of Main Street, USA.

One positive move would be to come down hard on the banks and Wall Street with tougher regulations. These two things would be a good start:

    1-Repeal Gramm-Leech-Bliley and revive Glass-Steagall.

2-Fire treasury secretary Tim Geithner immediately. The recent news about his dealings with AIG must be the final straw. Obama may take a temporary hit for doing this but in the end it will show that he has the guts to admit a mistake and the good sense to correct it.

I don’t know if either party has the political will to overturn Gramm-Leech-Bliley and with many former members of Goldman Saks and the financial industry in Obama’s cabinet I kind of doubt that the democrats have the stomach to actually do the right thing and reenact Glass-Steagall.

    WORD!

  15. I am not happy with all things Obama either but glad I belong to a party where we can criticize our own as opposed to the Republicans who castigate anyone who doesn’t goose-step in lock-step with most of their talking points. The reich says we Democrats treat our President as if he were “the Messiah” when there are many loud Democratic critical voices out there thus proving the Pubes wrong. However, there is always the danger of forming circular firing squads which Democrats are oft wanton to do.

Are you kidding me? Did you see some of the nasty things Kay called me when I’ve pointed out a few of Obama’s flip-flops?

    • Awwww, you poor baby. Did Kay call you things that made you feel bad about yourself? Go suck on Jane LIEberman’s tit so you can get some right wing fuel to make yourself feel better!

    • Awwwww, the poor widdle FDLers. Some are feeling bad because Caroline Kennedy is not up for ‘re-election’ right now and they can’t believe the REAL progressive in the race (Tasini) is a complete unknown and that Blue Dem Gillibrand is their only hope!

      http://news.firedoglake.com/20.....dy-heated/

Well, we can thank Jane LIEberman for her public jealous rage against Caroline Kennedy for the predicament we’re in!

  17. Obama hasn’t flip-flopped as much as he has yet to follow through on some campaign promises. But then I’ve lived long enough to know that often that’s politics as usual. However, I had wanted him to transcend political history, give us real CHANGE, but since inauguration, he has oft been seen as part of the real world of Washington, D.C. so still hoping he will change some things in the next 7 years. Some of the positive things he has done don’t get publicized, either, buried by the MSM with another Palin or Tiger Woods story.
