This video is of Sen. Dick Durbin asking Coburn to come to the floor to explain his remark (he never does because he’s a right wing pussy), which was: “What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can’t make the vote tonight. That’s what they ought to pray.”. Coburn said this on the floor of the Senate today. Where’s the right wing outrage?
Coburn is praying for the death of Senator Byrd. What an asshole!

There is no bottom when it comes to how low they will go. Unbelievable, but of course when your playing to the teabaggers, you gotta get down there in the dirt with them.
Unfortunately Sen “stupid as a bag full of shit” Coburn didn’t get his hate filled wish as 60 senators votes to end the filibuster
U.S. health bill passes crucial Senate test
sucks to be a stupid republiscum senator or reich wing troll pretending to know anything
LOL
Thanks for posting the link, Clif! I woke up this morning to the good news. The first hurdle is over.
Poor Obama haters. They must be livid!
At least it appears that God doesn’t listen to Republican prayers. God didn’t kill Sen. Byrd and the bill passed with 60 Democratic votes.
LOL Grant! Yep, gawd doesn’t listen to the right wingers. Awwww, and it’s Christmastime too. Poor babies.
He only hoped that someone would not be able to vote? Traffic, blizzard, sick… do you really think he wanted Byrd to die?
Bunch of idiots around here.
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) prayed, “What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can’t make the vote tonight…that’s what they ought to pray.”
Bob Owens on his Confederate Yankee blog said, “But it’s time for Senator to do the right thing, and expire. Those on the reich like Limbaugh rejoiced when Ted Kennedy was diagnosed with advanced brain cancer. This is the way the “religious” reich thinks nowadays.
Coburn also used the SINGULAR and it was difficult to escape the conclusion that Coburn was referring to the 92-year-old, wheelchair-bound Sen. Robert Byrd who has been in and out of hospitals of late and whose ailing health has caused him to miss other votes. It would have the most difficult for Byrd to get out of bed in the wee hours with deep snow on the ground and ice on the roads — but without his vote, Democrats wouldn’t have the 60 they needed. A younger Democrat would have made it even it meant putting on snowshoes or cross-country skis which the frail Byrd could not have done.
