Three Secret Service members have been put on administrative leave because of the White House Crashers

Well, it makes sense to me that the Secret Service would have to punish their own considering they did not do their job properly the night of the White House’s first State Dinner when they allowed Tareq and Michaele Salahi in. This said…
I still think the Obama’s KNEW THE SALAHI’S as this article claims (the “2005″ photo is above). If so, I don’t think Obama’s Social Secretary, Desiree Rogers, should be fired over this. She needs to be honest by telling the American people that the Secret Service did do their job and it was she who allowed them in (or whatever the whole truth is). Telling the truth is much more important at this point, because if the Obama’s and Rogers knew the Salahi’s then that means Obama was never in grave danger to begin with.
Agree?
And stop with the Executive Privilege crap! We’ve had enough of it under George War Criminal Bush for gawd’s sake! We’re talking about a social gaffe here. Not state secrets! And knowing the Salahi’s is not a state secret by the way! No one truly cares about them.

The wingnuts are going to bring up the following for sure:
http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2009/11/obama-met-with-salahis-in-2005-theyre-linked-to-obamas-radical-pal-rashid-khalidi/
There could be some truth to the fact that the Obama’s didn’t want their name on the list to avoid the Glenn-Beck-Connect-The-Dots bullshit, but honestly, does one have to be part of a group that supports the Palestinians right to exist? Why is this idea radical? Why is it if you say ANYTHING AGAINST ISRAEL you are suddenly a Jew hater? Huh?
Some Jews in Israel sympathize with the Palestinians and are embarrassed by what their government has done to them over the years. Are they also Jew haters? Huh?
So sick of the right wing fringe in this country who always back the fringe everywhere on the planet!

No doubt about it, Clif, the right wingers are hypocrites!

Nothing funny about suicide, Clif, but it appears he’s the one who has caused his own problems! Maybe this will be a wake up call for him or maybe he’ll pull a Palin and blame liberals for all of his troubles?

Executive privilege is at the foundation of the constitution in the seperation of powers. Presidents have exercised that privilege since the founding and rightly so. I full support Obama’s position on this one.

Looking at the picture of Obama above, it’s very possible the Salahi’s aren’t close friends, but rather, are in the same circles of lots of people who supported him for years now? Could be. This would be no different than me appearing in groups of people with Rep. Terry Hayes who represents my district here in Maine. I don’t know her personally (about her indepth life), but I support her and I may turn up more than once in the background at the various functions she is at!
Just another way of interpreting the picture above…

Not surprised a republican from Maine would support using executive privilege on a social/personal matter! What are you republicans hiding from us? And why did you all freak out about Monica Lewinsky & Bill Clinton if you feel so strongly about a president using EP for whatever they want to? Oh wait! Hypocrisy! Nevermind. You wingers don’t give a shit what the laws in our nation are or how they’re used as long as you benefit, huh?
Executive privilege should NOT be used in Crashers Gate. What should be used is THE TRUTH….just tell us the Salari’s were not on the guest list, but they were friends of Desiree or the Obama’s or whatever the connection may be, hence why they were allowed in and then leave it at that.

Remember when EP was used by George Bush, Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, Karl Rove, Harriet Miers, etc to protect themselves from going to prison or testifying to get to the truth? Oh wait! Republicans in Maine were fine with this huh? And if the Obama Admin does the same thing you neocons will screech won’t ya, but you’ll tell me today that invoking EP for a social event was fine too!
We need more progressive liberals in government. The End.

Hate to educate a right-winger about our nation’s history, but Executive Privilege was not mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. It is a creation of the Supreme Court defending Dick Nixon in 1973 from having to disclose tape recordings when subpoenaed by the Watergate Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox. Eventually, Nixon was forced from office after all. Nixon abused the “privilege” to save his hide and Bush/Cheney took it to new highs.

However, Bill Clinton did have his EP rejected by Whitewater Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr in the Lewinsky sex scandal investigation. Starr said, “absolutely no one is above the law”. Starr said such a privilege “must give way” and evidence “must be turned over” to prosecutors if it is relevant to an investigation.
Remember Bill Clinton’s blow jobs never killed anyone, but Bush/Cheney killed tens of thousands of Americans and Iraqis in Iraq and abused EP “privilege” to escape being impeached or tried for war crimes.

Grant, republicans are fine with abusing EP when it’s done by right wingers. This is why President Obama needs to instruct Desiree Rogers to go before Congress to TELL THE TRUTH. Hiding something like this causes distrust. I trust President Obama, though, but he has to do the right thing now.
