Twenty six people have been declared dead after a Russian express train was bombed. What if Russia blames the United States for it? (Just asking and don’t believe for a second that the United States had anything to do with this act) Seriously, this kind of scenario is what George Bush did after 9/11/01: HE BLAMED IRAQ FOR AN ATTACK IT DIDN’T DO. A strong country will mourn the dead, will rebuild, and then go on with life. Cowardly nations will use an attack as a way to bomb the crap out of a country of it’s choice, invade it, and then capture the country’s resources/riches just so they can line the deep pockets of their cronies! See? What George Bush & Dick Cheney did with 9/11/01 is an abomination. I hope Putin is sober and of sound mind today.
Russia does have its problems with the likes of Chechnya and Georgia, so terrorists from those sectors wouldn’t surprise me. Europe has many high-speed rail lines and wonder how many of them may be vulnerable. Spain has its Basque separatists to worry about, too.
I rode regular Italian state trains earlier this month, and they were smooth riding, comfortable, clean, quick, and best of all…most inexpensive. I hope that someday Texas can get a high-speed rail line to link Dallas with Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Since American and Southwest Airlines have their headquarters in Dallas, and Continental is here in Houston, those airlines have fought getting rail for Texas fearing the competition. Houston has ONE Amtrak train leaving in each direction ONCE every 24 hours. It’s a pity we don’t have rail travel for much of America anymore.
