The YES-ON-HATE people from California gave their “victory” speech last night here in Maine! Yep. How many Mainers were actually in the room? Doesn’t appear to be a lot and for those of us who watched the polling yesterday know damn well the NO On 1 campaign won it, and people like me are wondering how many right wing Evangelical/Mormon/Catholics called in fraudulent numbers to the Secretary of State to purposely defeat Question 1? I bet quite a few. I can picture Mrs. Catholic Pedophile Priest supporter looking at her town’s final numbers and seeing that 75% of her town voted in favor of keeping Maine’s same sex marriage law as it is. Being a typical Hater, she called to certify the No On 1’s numbers to the Sec. of State as the Yes-On-Hate numbers!

Watching the talking heads and listening to them on the Diane Reem show was driving me nuts this morning. It amazes me how people want to blame Obama for any election in the country that doesn’t go the way of the dems. Using the word coattails and shit. Obama wasn’t running this year, coattails only happen when someone is on the ballot. But does that stop the pundits from saying it, nah. They love their horse races, don’t they? And they love twisting poll results to suit their needs, whether it’s true or not. I’m not surprised by this, it’s not new, but damn it, when is the media going to return to talking about the issues of the day and not the process and posturing. Obviously the right wing neocons didn’t pay attention to the media reports of the Maine election yesterday, because if you did, you would have seen wild excitement on the side of NO On 1 and hardly anyone at the Yes On 1 campaigns. Why? Because just like when Obama was running for the presidency, ABSENTEE BALLOTS SET RECORDS (they did yesterday too), TURNOUT WAS HIGH (yesterday set an all-time record for an off-year election ever…60% turnout!), and ALL OF THE EXCITEMENT WAS ON THE WINNING SIDE.
But yet….
All day yesterday exit polling showed the NO On 1 (to keep Maine’s same sex marriage law in place) campaign with a huge lead. The Yes on 1 people basically called it quits and left their headquarters. Then……it completely flipped. Geee……………..now why is that? BECAUSE THE OVERLY RELIGIOUS PANICKED AND DECIDED TO CALL IN THEIR TOWN’S TOTALS USING THE “NO ON 1′S” RESULTS AS THE “YES ON 1′S” RESULTS!
This has to be the reason. There is no other reason.
There will be no recount and I don’t care if there is one or not, because I want to be on record saying I believe the “good christians” are evil!
Mainers will continue to fight against the Hating Conservatives until we win this one. Until then, NO ONE TRUSTS YOU AT ALL!
