It’s Election Day! The Doug Hoffman race is becoming laughable…

Why does the right wing of this country see this tiny little race in upstate New York as the road to the White House and a complete takeover of the country for America’s CEO’s and armed militia types? Because they’re dreaming!!! Yes, they have nothing to run on, so they’re turning to the right wing fringe to make it appear like the republican party is popular or something. So laughable!

Doug Hoffman is today’s Timothy McVeigh. Regarded by the right wing fringe as a complete hero to their cause.

If Hoffman wins today it will be fun to watch the right wing fringe shooting off their rifles like Saddam Hussein used to do, because really, that is the kind of group we’re talking about here: CONSERVATIVES. They’re dangerous to the freedom of our nation and we know that because we watched George Bush screw us over for 8 years while being applauded by these wingnuts. Any policy of George Bush’s that President Obama has kept in place has been met with disgust by these wingnuts. Why? Because they don’t like black people, Jews, Hispanics, women, and all the other colors of the rainbow President Obama has in his Cabinet. See? They only like big fat rich Monopoly Bankers who have an IQ of 26 or lower!

Remember, it was Ronald Reagan (still the Leader of the Conservative Movement) loved the Afghan Taliban….

Nothing has changed. Conservatives are now domestic and foreign terrorists in honor of Ronnie. Awwwwwwww, how cute is that?

The Maine election…

I voted a week ago Monday and voted “No On 1″ (same sex marriage question), because I completely believe all couples should be able to marry AND divorce. See? It’s not fair that only the heterosexual couples get to abuse their spouses, abuse their children, have extramarital affairs, fight over money, and then show us all how holy their marriage is to them by getting a big fat divorce to prove it! All should be able to participate in this social contract. Me? I’ll just continue to date. Marriage is indoctrination and not natural, but hey, all couples in love should be able to give marriage a whirl if they so choose. So Mainers….VOTE NO TODAY TO PUT THE BIGOTS IN THEIR PLACE! You’ll give them a heart attack which surely will be fun to watch from the sidelines.

I also voted YES on the Marijuana Question too. Of course Mainers should have more access to medical marijuana across our state and the state should increase the list of illnesses/diseases for those patients who need this medicine. Duh.

Get out and vote people!

My partner and I don’t believe in marriage which is a sacrament of the church that we have both rejected. But with “marriage” comes civil rights that we would like to have. Call it civil unions if you will. For the price of a cheap marriage license hetero couples can enjoy myriad benefits whereas if we want the same protections under the law, we have to spend a few thousand dollars for a lawyer to protect our properties and ensure our last wishes will be honored. When my partner was in a coma after an auto accident for a month, his brother had to put my name on a list at the ICU or else I would never have been able to visit him!

Grant, there was a great turnout to the polls today in Maine! I think our same sex marriage law is going to remain in effect. My guess is the race will be 58-42%. LOTS OF YOUNG PEOPLE VOTING TODAY…..no different than on the day Maine helped to elect Obama to office. We’ve all got our fingers crossed!

With 30% of the Houston ballots counted, Democrat and very “out” lesbian Anise Parker is in the lead. If she wins she will be the first lesbian mayor of any major US city. And then those who stereotype Texans call us a bunch of Bible-thumping rednecks even though Democrats run all of our major cities. Our mayoral race has 3 Democrats and one conservative Republican Hispanic running who is in last place. But since the great majority of Hispanics are Democrats, they see through the GOP ploy of running a Latino. A few percentage points behind Parker is former councilman Gene Locke, an African-American, and white multi-millionaire Peter Brown, a blue dog Democrat who is currently in third even though he was the biggest spender even chipping in a few million of his own. Houston has open city elections which usually means a run-off in December.

Yes, Houston will have a run-off election between Anise Parker and Gene Locke. Both Democrats (we have OPEN “at-large” city elections therefore no political party slates). Parker is a lesbian and Locke is African-American. She had solid support from Houston’s several hundred thousand gay voters, but only 13% of all voters turned out this time. In third place and now out of it was Peter Brown, a blue-dog conservative gazillionaire “Democrat”. Coming in last was Roy Morales, a right-wing Hispanic, so their supporters will either not vote in the run-off or will vote for the one they hate the least…a gay woman or a black man!
