Highly suspect Darren. The FAA knew where the planes WERE before the transponders were turned off. Why no one could locate these planes after that is a head scratcher to me. The balloon in Colorado was really small. Seems strange that NORAD could be given an approximate location and was able to locate it within minutes (seriously....the balloon story broke and within 20 minutes or so the next breaking news was coming in from NORAD on MSNBC which was the channel I was tuned into when all of this happened). It would be a lot more difficult to locate something with no knowledge of where it is - in fact pretty much impossible with that same technology.
