GLENN BECK AT CPAC 2010: ‘Hello, my name is the Republican Party, and I’ve got a problem. I’m addicted to spending and big government…I’m addicted to spending and I just don’t want to spend today.’ (CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO QUOTE)

"If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal,” then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.” ~ John F. Kennedy, 1960

How is it NORAD could track a small balloon in the sky yesterday but on the morning of 9/11/01, they couldn’t locate the hijacked planes?

footballsnatchedagain

Something very fishy going on again! NORAD was part of the breaking news yesterday in the Balloon Boy story (heard it on MSNBC). We learned they had the balloon in sight and was tracking it for the rescuers on the ground. Interesting. They could see a small balloon in the sky, but yet, on the morning of 9/11/01, they said (along with the FAA) that they couldn’t find the hijacked airplanes because their transponders were turned off! Did the balloon yesterday have a transponder in it for tracking? Nope! Just a bunch of helium for gawd’s sake!

I will go to my grave believing that Dick Cheney, his PNAC pals, NORAD, and our military purposely allowed the hijacked planes to hit their intended targets, because they wanted to use the most devastating attack on our nation to get back into Iraq to feed themselves and their Military Industrial Complex/Oil/New World Order buddies!

  • I’m sure the neocons will have a ‘very good explanation’ as to how this is possible. Can’t wait to read them!

  • I’m still scratching my head on that one too, Kay. Neocons don’t offer explainations though, only excuses.

    Peace,
    Cosmic

  • Geee, not one comment from the neocons today about this matter! How come neocons? Another Kay Stumper for you to answer, so instead you decided to stay in your Oscar Trashcans today beating up the president for being half black and half white? I bet!

    Anyway….

Cosmic, kind of interesting don’t you think? NORAD can see balloons in the air but not hijacked planes doing circles in the sky and traveling long distances! Interesting, very interesting…

  • Temple Of The Dog

Simple…..Dick Cheney wasn’t in control of NORAD yesterday.

  • Exactly Temple. Had he been in charge he would have said, “Send the F16s to Florida ’cause we got an out of control balloon in Colorado!”.

  • Temple Of The Dog

LMAO Kay @ 9:06 PM! Can you imagine if Bush & Cheney would have been in charge of our country after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor??? They would have invaded Australia… ;)

  • Of course on the morning of 9/11, Cheney was too busy telling our military to stand down and then when all the planes hit their intended targets, that’s when the F16’s were called up to go out over the Atlantic Ocean, you know, the exact opposite direction to where all the action was!

  • Grant in Texas

But wouldn’t Saddam Hussein’s NON-existent air-force and missiles have been coming in over the Atlantic? /snark

  • Temple Of The Dog

You all do know that Donald Rumsfeld was caught on video saying that flight 93 over Shanksville, PA was shot down don’t you? Funny how that was never covered or pushed by the MSM.

Of course one could say that they shot down flight 93 because it was heading for DC or it was shot down because……but why not be honest? If they lied about that, what else have they lied about?

  • They lied about who sent out the anthrax after 9/11/01, Temple. They lied and deceived us all on many fronts!

  • Clif

Which is why they are the republiscum of the country.

  • THEY’RE LIARS! And they still are, right Clif? To lie is to be a republican. The End.

  • Grant in Texas

Just read that the parents may be facing some criminal charges, now. Seems the release was videotaped and no one wondered where the third child was???

  • Darren

I just read an article on CNN about the FAA’s continuing investigation into the balloon incident. It claims that the balloon was too small to track on radar, so they are relying on pilots’ visual reports to track the path over which the balloon traveled. I’m guessing this means NORAD used some kind of directed satellite to follow it optically (after its position was already known), not any kind of radar or radio telemetry which might involve a transponder. I like to blame the government as much as the next guy, but this almost makes it seem like they’re telling the truth here :P

    • There was no transponder on this balloon. That is the point of my post. On the morning of 9/11, NORAD said it could not locate the hijacked planes because the transponders were turned off (the FAA made the same claim). Then…..a few days ago it was breaking news that NORAD was tracking this balloon in Colorado for the rescuers on the ground and it had no transponder. Seems a little strange, doesn’t it Darren? NORAD can’t find 4 commercial airliners in the sky but it can see a balloon using….their satellite technology? Oh please! You can side with NORAD on this. I don’t. :-)

  • Darren

Well frankly I still find the events of 9/11 highly suspect, and I didn’t really intend to side with NORAD when I started typing that post, but if they have satellites with long range optics that can be aimed at precise coordinates it would be pretty easy to start tracking something if they already knew where it was. It would be a lot more difficult to locate something with no knowledge of where it is – in fact pretty much impossible with that same technology. Why they couldn’t use radar (which doesn’t exactly require a transponder to work), then point their cameras at the unidentified blips, is another question :x

  • Yep. Highly suspect Darren. The FAA knew where the planes WERE before the transponders were turned off. Why no one could locate these planes after that is a head scratcher to me. The balloon in Colorado was really small. Seems strange that NORAD could be given an approximate location and was able to locate it within minutes (seriously….the balloon story broke and within 20 minutes or so the next breaking news was coming in from NORAD on MSNBC which was the channel I was tuned into when all of this happened).
