Devout Catholic Mom stands up for her son’s right to marry

Do you hear that sound? *cupping ear* It’s the sound of Catholics, Christians, bigots, and other Haters’ heads cracking open after watching this video! Good. Let’s keep cracking noggins in support of LOVE & MARRIAGE FOR ALL!
Who the hell do these heterosexual married people think they are? They think they’re the ‘bestest’ at marriage apparently, when honestly, it’s the heterosexual couples who: MENTALLY & PHYSICALLY ABUSE EACH OTHER, SEXUALLY ABUSE THEIR KIDS, HAVE EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIRS, DON’T RESPECT EACH OTHER, AND THEN DIVORCE, you know, THEY COULDN’T RESPECT THE SANCTITY OF MARRIAGE IF IT HIT THEM SQUARE BETWEEN THE TEMPLES!
Hey, if this devout Catholic Mom can set aside her religious beliefs and can look at her son like the human being he is and can see that his relationship with his lover is no different than what she would have and that love is the same between heterosexuals and homosexuals, then I think it’s about time other religious people do the same. How many overly religious people right this second just turned their back on their child they say they’ve loved every day since his or her birth only to throw that out the door, because their child is a homosexual? Or how many families right now are fighting over the rights to their gay family member’s property after his or her death, because there are no protections here in Maine for gay couples to pass on their property to the person they love, which isn’t the family who has treated him or her wrongly for years? Seriously, this has got to stop. Love is love. Burn your bibles if you have a closed mind…..because you haven’t learned a damn thing since you started reading it!

My late cousin in San Antonio had a life-long relationship with his late partner. My late lesbian cousin in Indiana, likewise, both relationships in the 30 year range. I am now in my tenth year of a relationship where neither of us has ever come close to striking at the other in anger. I couldn’t ask for a more dedicated and loving partner. Some of the most stable relationships in my family have been those of us who are gay.

You’re in love, Grant, and it shows! You have a wonderful relationship with your partner and you should be able to marry and have the same protections as do heterosexuals do in their marriages.
