Oh yes, I’ve even gone as far as inviting them to teabagging parties across the nation and get met with quite a backlash, but what the hell am I supposed to think when I see someone like Jane Hamsher of FireDogLake taking the right wing talking points and lies and running with them!

Last night on FireDogLake (and on americablog and Pam’s Houseblend etc), Jane decided to listen to those pesky “anonymous White House aides” again! Yes, that’s right. The republicans of this country are very good at lying through their asses, so when one of them says publicly that they talked with an ‘anonymous White House aide’ who said the WH views us as ‘Internet left fringe’ who ‘need to take off our pajamas and get dressed’, Jane and others are going to run with this AS TRUTH! Yep. No longer do the ‘powerful liberal bloggers’ do any research. Nope. They just listen to the wingnuts now, because they hate Obama so much for not fixing the biggest shitpile in the history of shitpiles George Bush left our country in January of this year, and they are furious with him for not fixing this mess by the following Saturday at noontime after he took his oath of office!

The expectations for Obama are high.
When he doesn’t deliver, such as repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” or DOMA, people get nervous and begin to question his commitment to LGBT rights, as well as other issues.
I worked for then-candidate Obama’s New York campaign and I voted for him. What I was told (obviously wrongly) was Obama had told Pelosi and Reid he wanted bills on his desk to sign repealing these homophobic, Clinton-era policies, in his first hundred days in office.
As far as listening to liberals, Obama had better listen to liberals because his efforts to reach out to the GOP and sing “kumbaya” has fallen on deaf ears. The partisan divide in too entrenched and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

I have quit posting at another “progressive” blog where I have been a regular for years, as I am tired of taking their flack for not being “liberal” enough and they were turning on me. They know that I was in YAF in college, worked at the Republican National Convention for Barry Goldwater. However, I haven’t voted for a Republican presidential candidate or any Congresscritter since 1964. But I guess I have really been a Republican “wolf” in “sheep’s clothing” for 45 years now just for the hell of it. Then why do I contribute money to Democrats, the latest for the Democrat in South Caroline running against Joe Wilson, and for many months last year, sent Barack Obama money. But I guess I am still a stealth, gay, atheist Republican. No wonder Republicans get elected while the left forms circular firing squads.
You see, I have not joined the “liberal” hate-Obomber crowd (yes these “progressives” call him “Obmomber”, “Obamanation” etc.). Sometimes I have to check the top of my page to see whether or not I haven’t instead mistakenly logged on to Free Republic, RedState, WorldNutDaily, etc. as some days their are very similar postings on this so-called “liberal” website!
The “fringe” on both sides often act like they are a majority when probably 80% of Americans who vote are “in the middle” politically. At age 70 and being from a very active Republican family (total 32 years in elected offices, local and state), I have seen the pragmatist “middle” win over the ideologues nearly every time.

I watched MSNBC after Obama’s speech to the Human Rights Campaign and am just amazed at how impatient and whiny the gay leaders are. I guess they should have voted for John McCain, huh? So I am no newcomer in gaydom, but I am not an activist pushing for getting ALL my desires satisfied right now!
The reich would love another WEDGE ISSUE to work against liberals. If you think the townhall meetings are wild now??? They are even picketing outside of second graders’ school windows because little kids sang a song honoring our first black president during Black History Month.
Let the gay activists raise hell (of course while collecting a paycheck in many cases), and let’s see a Republican Congress and White House again by 2012. IF Obama is re-elected, he will have FOUR MORE YEARS, until 2016, to promote repeals of DOMA, DADT, etc. which, don’t forget, will need CONGRESSIONAL approval! Right now I think only a hate crimes bill to cover everyone would be enough on his very full plate and probably have the support of a MAJORITY of Americans. However, those who are out of work, losing their homes, losing loved ones in Iraq/Afghanistan have OTHER CONCERNS more important TO THEM than whether some homosexuals down the street can get a marriage license.

Assvosis, I love it. I almost hate to admit it, but I used to have AssBlog as my home page, I look back on it now and wonder what the hell was wrong with me. When it was Bush Bash all day long, it seemed to be a great place for links to great stories. After Obama appeared on the same stage as a preacher who said some anti-gay things, (no really a preacher saying anti-gay things, I can’t freakin believe it) and then Assvosis turned on Obama. It’s that guilt by association thing that they seem to be hung up on.
I’m afraid to meet anyone anymore, who knows how I might be associated with them later on in life. We need to target this “guilt by association” trend and get the hell rid of it. It seems to be just a convenient way to hate someone for no GOOD reason, but by who they might have met once, or were neighbors with, or were on the same board with, or in this case “a top gay Democrat close to Obama”.
