Trust me on this. Sen. Olympia Snowe gets very serious on the issue of high speed Internet access for all, but when health care reform is mentioned, she’ll just start balling her eyes out and as she wipes her tears she’ll say sobbing like a child, “We can’t have the public option without a trigger…*sniff sniff*….because triggers are fair to the health insurance companies and their CEO’s…*sobbing/wiping eyes*….and sometimes we can word a trigger clause to mean absolutely nothing with zero power or have the loophole so wide in the clause you can drive a lobstah boat through it…*sniff sniff*…without bumping into anything. See? Stop being so mean to the CEO’s!*boogers streaming out of her nose*“.
I’m sure the Wicked Witch of the North got extremely emotional and nodded her head in agreement as she watched the following video in support of health insurance CEO’s and how it’s they who are the real sufferers in the health care industry….
All Snowe (and Susan Collins! Hey, we can’t forget about the other Wicked Witch of the North!) cares about are the CEO’s. She could care less that there are some Mainers right now working 3 part-time jobs, don’t qualify for health insurance at their employers based on their status, and these Mainers can’t afford the premium of a private health insurer because it’s too damn expensive! Oh, but mention the public option to Snowe and tell her it would be an affordable choice with no preexisting clause in it for these Mainers? She’ll freak out and mention how there are CEO’s who are suffering right along with those Mainers who don’t have high speed broadband! See? Spit.
