….oh, but show a picture of a dying U.S. solider in a war that she supports to this day, THAT’S WRONG!
Here’s what Sarah Palin said about the Associated Press showing a picture of Lance Corporal Joshua Bernard on her Facebook page:
Shame on the Associated Press for Ignoring the Wishes of a Grieving Family
Many of us join Secretary Gates in condemning the Associated Press for its heartless and selfish decision to turn its back on the wishes of a grieving family in order to exploit the tragic death of a true American hero.
Lance Corporal Joshua ‘Bernie’ Bernard was a selfless young American who sacrificed everything for our freedom.
Shame on the AP for purposely adding to the grieving family’s pain. Ignoring the family’s wishes by publishing a sacred image of their loved one proved a despicable and heartless act by the AP. The family said they didn’t want the photo published. AP, you did it anyway, and you know it was an evil thing to do.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bernard family. Words can not adequately express our sorrow and appreciation for your sacrifice. We will never forget your Marine or his fallen comrades.
May God bless the Bernard family.
The Associated Press is heartless? Ummmmm, Sarah? Who put our volunteer soldiers in Afghanistan in the first place? Huh? And who lied to Americans to get our soldiers in Iraq where they’ve died of the same kind of injuries? Oh wait! Sarah and her ilk believe wars are fun. When someone dies on either side, Sarah doesn’t feel the pain of the injuries, so therefore, injuries in war are pain free!
Sarah, here are the remains of a US soldier after being killed in Iraq…
I’m sorry, but I don’t remember your outrage when this photo hit the Internet a few years ago? In fact, what I do remember is you and your ilk calling myself and others TRAITORS FOR SPEAKING OUT AGAINST GEORGE BUSH’S & DICK CHENEY’S ILLEGAL WARS! Remember that, FuckHead? Van Jones is right…..republicans are assholes!
Also, I thought Sarah Palin and her worshipers think that all of our soldiers are heroes and when they die in war they become even more of a hero? So why not see their flag draped coffins and their moment of death? Why should the media refuse to report reality? Oh wait! Conservatives don’t live in reality! May I remind Sarah that she believes our soldiers are doing the work of God….
“Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord.
“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.
Religion, however, was not strictly a thread in Palin’s foreign policy. It was part of her energy proposals as well. Just prior to discussing Iraq, Alaska’s governor asked the audience to pray for another matter — a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state. “I think God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that,” she said.
Sarah, seeing one of our soldiers dying is the same as seeing God’s work, right? I don’t ever remember Sarah Palin publicly exclaiming her disgust with John F. Kennedy’s head being blown off. In fact, many who support her today are also the same people who for years loved watching that moment and said so online.
I’m all for the Associated Press for providing the picture of this Maine soldier dying, because as Sarah and others are always touting…..OUR SOLDIERS ARE FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHTS. The First Amendment provides for the freedom of speech and of the press, so therefore, we should honor this soldier and those soldiers who died for this right of the press to print the reality of war.
