Have you heard any neocons lately saying the republicans have been completely shut out of the health care bill talks and that the hole process has been going too fast for them to find time to golf and they’re feeling like an outsider? Well, they were lying as usual!
From Slate:
That said, some context: Of the 788 amendments filed, 67 came from Democrats and 721 from Republicans. (That disparity drew jeers that Republicans were trying to slow things down. Another explanation may be that they offered so many so they could later claim—as they are now, in fact, claiming—that most of their suggestions went unheeded.) Only 197 amendments were passed in the end—36 from Democrats and 161 from Republicans. And of those 161 GOP amendments, Senate Republicans classify 29 as substantive and 132 as technical.
Here’s a sampling of the republican amendments added to Obama’s health care bill (Slate provided a link to the EXCEL FILE in the 2nd paragraph for our viewing, so have fun! Be sure to click on the picture below so you can read the republican amendments better too!):
Holy cripes! No wonder the republicans are up in arms about Obama’s health care bill……IT’S MAINLY A RIGHT WINGER’S HEALTH CARE BILL! Scary. Maybe we should all rethink this bill, because if the Cro Magnon’s of America are mainly behind it, then we know we won’t reach wheel-inventing-status at any point in the future! We will be going backwards in time! Of course, President Obama has stated that he will not sign any health care bill that adds to the deficit over the next ten years, but even if the current bill doesn’t do that, then I think maybe he could use this republican health care bill as an out anyway for vetoing! Might be a good thing. I had no idea how polluted this bill truly is. Wow.
We all know what will happen in the end, though. The republicans will stink up the bill so much….even they won’t sign on to it in the end. Why? ‘Cause they’re wimpy losers who hate American citizens to the point they don’t care if they add an amendment taking all rights away from all of us in a health care bill! What we can call this bill is ‘republican socialism’. See? Nice ring to it!
