   FunnyDiva2002 over on FireDogLake said it best this morning about Buchanan’s racist performance:

   I’ve been sitting here stewing over BuKKKanan’s utterly revolting performance.

   100% white males in Civil War battles? Nearly 100% white males at Normandy?!!! WTF. Black regiments fought in WWI for God’s sake.

   As disgusting as it is, I guess he’s entitled to his opinion. But he’s NOT entitled to his own facts, and he’s NOT entitled to say that since the writers of our Founding Documents were 100% white males that only White Males should have a say over what happens in America. Just how far back would he turn the clock?

   Color me irredeemably offended by that screed. Honestly, if I saw him at a bus stop tomorrow, I’d spit in his face.

   And for him to imply that he’s the only one who knows anything about working class people? Infuriatingly ludicrous. I’m glad Rachel didn’t let him get away with that.

   And comparing Sotomayor to Harriet Miers? WTF?

   I’ve got reservations about Sotomayor, but I’d rather see a SCOTUS justice with decades of experience applying the law to real cases than someone (like Yoo or Bybee) who’s considered a brilliant theorist.

   And “Antonin Scalia is a Legal Genius”? WTF? Did I miss something? IIRC, he only seems bright in comparison to Thomas and Alito.

   What do you expect from the architect of the “Southern Strategy? It was Buchanan, speechwriter and adviser to Nixon, who dreamed up inviting southern white racists disenchanted with DEMOCRAT Lyndon B. Johnson’s promoting civil and voting rights. It was racists like Buchanan who actively invited the likes of Democrats Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms, Trent Lott, etc. to come over to the GOP to turn the “blue” Old South to “red”!

   The “Party of Lincoln” which was once the party most black Americans belonged to (including Martin Luther King, Sr. and Jr.), snubbed them causing 90% of black America to then register as Democrats. Blacks began moving to FDR due to his social programs but still loved Eisenhower, and only went to the Democratic Party in a landslide thanks to Nixon and Pat Buchanan.

   Now, the GOP is snubbing WOMEN and HISPANICS by sliming Sotomayor. I guess they think there are still enough white men voting yet to rule the nation.

   I think both of these folks (Rachel & Pat) are extreme speakers using emotion (especially Pat) to share their view. I do agree that Rachel judges people by race. It’s convenient, popular and she articulates her view well. Pat is just as emotional about his view but articulates his view with race as well.
   In my view, at this moment in our countries time, intentional placement of non-white/females/over 40 people is appropriate. I’ve reviewed the hearings of Sotomayor and although this candidate is not among this countries best, this candidate is at the right place at the right time. This country seems to need to “look” at a person to deem them appropriate for the job. That’s just where we find ourselves today.
   In the end, Rachel is more correct than Pat but they both embarrass me as an American. Rachel with her comment “The last 109 Supreme Court Justices were white, this one needs to be non-white” view and Pat with his “White men are discriminated against”. Money use to drive extreme views now it’s ratings. I now understand why other countries believe America has lost its magic.

   Rachel judges people by race? Ummmmm, are you serious? She was stating last night that if a woman is qualified for the Supreme Court and happens to be Hispanic, what is the big deal? Pat’s only answer is that it’s not fair because the whites are being discriminated against! What the hell. Nice try into looping Rachel in with Pat, because the two are total opposites and you know damn well she is not a racist! Pat is the racist. He also hates the Jews and is a Nazi sympathizer. He’s basically a piece of shit that needs to be scooped up and thrown out into the pasture. The End.

   Sonia Sotomayor has been confirmed!!! However 31 Republicans voted
   against her. Racist/sexist SOB’s.

   So that means that the 46 democrats who voted against Clarence
   Thomas were racist. The democrats always do things in a bigger way
   than republicans. Bigger racists, bigger spenders and now pelosi
   will have a bigger new jet to commute in.

   The Republicans who voted for Sotomayor are Alexander (Tenn), Bond
   (Missouri), Graham (SC), Gregg (NH), Lugar (Indiana), Martinez
   (Florida), Collins, (Maine), Snowe (Maine), and Voinivich (Ohio).
   My Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson voted NO even though Texas is 36%
   Hispanic and 50% women! Same goes for Kyl and McCain of Arizona.
   Democrats voted against Clarence Thomas because he is a loser and
   an extreme ideologue. Speaking of BIG SPENDERS, Bush came into
   office with a $559 billion SURPLUS given him by Clinton. He then
   left office a couple trillion in debt.

    I am glad to see Sen. Dick Lugar vote for Sotomayor. He has been a
    personal friend of some of my family for over 40 years. Like my
    family, he isn’t reich-wing loony toons, but a moderate
    Republican…thoughtful and pragmatic.

    Got it Grant, Thomas was a ideologue and black and Sotomayer is an
    ideologue and Latin but the 46 democrats that voted against Thomas
    are not racists but the 31 that voted against Soto are. Got it and
    that makes sense. Makes as much sense as saying Bush was
    responsible for the economic crash. If you will recall, it was fine
    until 2006 when guess what, Pelosi took over and brought the
    economy to the ground, with a lot of help from her democratic
    majority..

    Thomas couldn’t stop sexually harassing women. He is unfit to be on the bench and is the worst justice on the bench today. He’s the asshole who voted in favor of strip searching little girls at school by school teachers and whoever else wants to join in if the girl has aspirin in her pockets!
