The Jesus nativity story is a copycat (plagiarism?) of the Persian Zoroastrian god Mithra from centuries BEFORE. You know, like a virgin birth in a cave ON DECEMBER 25, attended by shepherds, called the “Light of the World”. Wise men in Persia were called Magi! Mithra died and was resurrected. His followers in their liturgy ate bread and drank wine to commemorate the time Mithra slayed a bull (sounds just like the bread and wine in the Mass!).
St. Paul was formerly Saul of Tarsus in Asia Minor which at the time was a hotbed of Mithraism. It was once the most popular religion in the Roman legions before being replaced by Christianity. The downfall of Mithraism may have been it was a “men only” religion whereas early Christianity embraced the contribution of women (before the men took it back over thanks in part to the woman-hater, St. Paul!).
