Senator Judd Gregg is out as Commerce Secretary

Well, that’s not surprising. I don’t buy Gregg’s assertion that he didn’t know President Obama’s stances either. To me, it seems more likely that the republicans want to continue to delay & obstruct, so Gregg was forced out by McConnell, Boner, and others. Gregg’s ‘heartfelt’ press conference yesterday seemed like he did want to stay and work with President Obama, but the right wingers had threatened Gregg, so Gregg was doing something he didn’t want to do. In other words, Gregg was feeling guilty of putting party loyalty above the good of the nation.

Plane crash in Buffalo, New York last night. Was it caused by the weather or was it terrorism? It’s not clear yet.

I’m on Day 2 of having the flu.  Ugh. Not sure if I’m going to work today or not, so if I’m not around it’s because I’m puking my guts out and am in bed again as yesterday.

The Bush Pigs are blackening out information to keep President Obama from seeing what they did over the past 8 years:

While I’m on this topic: Mohamed’s lawyer has alleged that DoD officials censored a letter that he sent to Barack Obama about what his client had gone through. His evidence seems to be that he (the lawyer) got a redacted copy (pdf) of the letter back. I agree with Ken Gude at CAP that this is implausible:

“Whatever the motivations of the DOD official that blacked out the material attached to Clive’s letter, it was certainly not to prevent President Obama from seeing it. In order for that to be true, we would have to construct a scenario in which a presidential aide brings to Obama this letter asking that specific information be de-classified, but when Obama asked what information, he was handed two completely blacked out pages and that’s the end of the story. Seriously, does that sound plausible?”

More to the point, does it sound plausible that some DoD official could have blacked out these pages in order to keep Obama from seeing them and succeeded? The President can see any classified information he wants. And if I were trying to prevent him from seeing something, handing him a letter with two pages blacked out would not be my method of choice.

I’m going to work. Should be interesting how long I’ll last. ;-)

The Q400 is similar in design to the ATR, twin turboprop, high wing with boots. This is the same type of aircraft that crashed in Chicago operated by Eagle. Boots can shed ice but are not anti-ice which pure jets have with hot wings and if ice builds behind the leading edge, boots will not kick it off. Just a guess but icing would be the first consideration. Doubt terrorists would find a regional prop as an inviting target.

Take theraflu and get some rest, hope you are back in the fight soon.

With the weather that area was seeing last night that’s probably what happened. That plane was on approach to the airport, which can be a critical time for planes in conditions like that. I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out that ice had built up ontop of the wings behind the boots and that a sudden gust of wind caused the wings to lose lift.
I think weather caused this one and not terrorists….maybe the flu is getting to you. Rest up and take some echinacea Kay.

Sorry to hear you’ve been stricken with flu Kay. Hey, empty your head of politics etc. and simply get the rest you need. Hopefully you didn’t go to work. Not only is it tough on you, but you will possibly infect some of your senior clients who won’t fair as well as a youngster like yourself… : )

Some of the republicans down this way have been complaining that Gregg wasn’t playing team ball and that pressure was being applied to remind him of the magic 60. Pure party politics. He sure does ramble on nicely tho, don’t he? Betcha Sarah Palin’s proud of the way he spoke in front of the microphone yesterday.

Frankly, the country’s loss in him withdrawing is new hampster’s loss… errr… well, should be a gain to go with loss but in Judd Gregg’s case, that’s about as possible as a wolf shooting back at Palin.

Hope you feel better. Nice visual there of you bending betwixt the knees of the porcelain goddess. Been there, done that and don’t plan on doing it again anytime soon.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your well wishes. I’m no longer throwing up but all of my joints are still achy. Man, I feel like an old lady. I’m serious. Just laying in bed with my knees together is painful.

I just did a post on something I heard reported earlier about Beverly Eckert who was a passenger on Flight 3407 for you guys to talk about.

I’m going back to bed shortly. One more day of rest is what I need. Back to politics tomorrow if my knees and joints can take it! LOL

  7. slappy says:

Very happy to hear of your illness and pains. May they continue forever.

  8. Anniee451 says:

I bet George Bush engineered that flu and Karl Rove pumped a vial of it into your house because he read your blog. I’m telling you, watch out for those guys.

  9. rightismightNY says:

just the flu and not a terminal illness? Shit…I was in a good mood…but not any more. Shit. Just the flu?

Man, and you guys wonder why we deem you “evil conservatives”. These are some cold posts.

Interpretive Clog Dancer (LOL great name), just ignore the Sarah Palin supporters. They’re hateful, vicious, vile, scumbags who eat aborted fetuses for breakfast while telling the rest of us not to have choices over our reproductive systems! See? So when I got the flu, they became orgasmic because they can relate to viruses, green slime, and bacteria and were pissed that THE LIBERAL WON OVER THEM ONCE AGAIN!

    “““““““““““““““““““““““““`
Are you surprised? These are comments from those compassionate Christians from Gods own political party. A vile, hateful bunch aren’t they?

  13. kayinmaine says:

Sometimes I find the Sarah Palin supporters commical, Insidious, because they act as if they’re pertinent to today’s world. Nope! They’re not. Americans have nothing but utter disdain for them.

Check out the video posted over on The Immoral Majority today of SNL making fun of the retarded neocons in our nation who think they’re powerful & clever:
