I wonder how George Bush is coping these days?

All former presidents must have a hard time at first regrouping themselves to get back into private life when a new president is elected, don’t you think? I think so. Mentally, it’s got to be no different than being a soldier overseas and then coming back to our country and forced into citizen life. Can you imagine the ‘post traumatic stress syndrome’ former presidents must experience by going from the most powerful person on the planet and then realizing you have to wait in line like the rest of the schmucks of America?

Well, while George Bush is trying to deal with being a regular citizen, the Iraqis have not forgotten what George Bush wrought on their country and their people. One Iraqi has erected a sofa-sized shoe in honor of George….

The Iraqis are viewing this shoe artwork as a sense of pride! Good gawd. This is not going to be helpful to George Bush in dealing with any mental issues he may be experiencing right now. Oh boy. I suppose ole Georgie should be happy that it was NOT a sofa-sized shoe that was thrown at him by the Iraqi journalist back along! He wouldn’t have been able to duck. LOL Well, let’s hope Georgie hasn’t read this story about the Iraqis creating shoe artwork, okay? It could put him over the edge.

Michael Steele of Maryland, a MODERATE BLACK Republican was just voted in as new chairman of the RNC. Wonder how Rush Limbaugh feels about the GOP moving LEFT and Black??? One of Steele’s opponents had joked about Obama being a “magic Negro” and another from South Carolina had been a member for many years in an “all-white” country club. Lincoln must be smiling in Springfield that his party may not be overrun by neocon racist fascists after all. Maybe Sarah can form a Christian Aryan third party?

This George Bush fellow of whom you speak. The name sort of rings a bell, but I can’t quite place him. Wasn’t he a comedian or something in the early 1960’s? Just can’t remember.

  4. gage says:

Oh, wait a minute! Was he that guy that did the “don’t squeeze the Charmin” ads?

  5. Uncle Fester Lurks says:

Michael Steele!?! The black Sean Hannity?

I wonder how all of the knuckle dragging red neck racists on the right feel about this?

The “shoe monument” in Baghdad is no more as the Iraqi government puppets had it taken it down and it was demolished.

Are you serious Grant? It’s been torn down. Now who would have wanted this taken down? Don’t tell me the same people who rushed into the new Iraqi radio station where one of the DJs was hurling out anti-American/Bush statements when testing the microphones….and killed everyone inside? Americans were suspected of the killings. Ooopsie. Think maybe these same Americans demanded the shoe monument be torn down? Could be. LOL

I remember the neocons freaking out when I reported the story of Jamilla here in Maine collecting shoes to bring to DC to throw at the White House (or an effigy of George Bush). They freaked out! I thought the neocons had a tough center core and could handle anything? Nope! Wrong again! Wimps….all of them.

  8. Chris from Maine says:

Bush has no trouble sleeping, with his hundreds of millions in his bank accounts and the knowledge that he got away with war crimes, he probably has a huge smile on his face.

Alright, before I get started here. I confess that my opinions on Steele may be a little partisan due to my being a supporter of the Democratic Party and an African American one at that, but one need not be a registered Democrat or an African American to be offended by the Republican Partys latest display of complete and utter tokenism. And Blacks are not the only tokens that the G.O.P. has dragged out before the American people in an effort to win over a constituency that cannot stand them. But Michael Steele is the number one token of them all.

    WeBetterWinThisTime’s diary :: ::
Like I said , this is not the first time the G.O.P. has foolishly and transparently attempted to pander to a constituency that is hostile toward them. We all saw FORMER (Hallelujah) President Bush pull this one a few times during his STOLEN terms as Commander in Chief. We saw Colin Powell and Condi Rice placed in high profile and symbolic positions in an effort to stave off criticism that their party is racist to it’s core. We saw a Latino become the nations first(?) Hispanic Attorney General serve as butt boy to the criminal Bush Administration. All this in an effort to say,

Go ask your racist buddies at KOS – they seem to have a lot to say about him

  11. kayinmaine says:

First off, S.Jensen, do you have a link to the comments you posted at #9? And second of all, I don’t see where there’s racism in those quotes either. The quotes are against the GOP. Is everything racist now when anyone says something against the GOP? Oh probably! You’re a pathetic bunch, so it’s not surprising that you are taking it this way.

    Obama Dozed, People Froze!
By Ed Driscoll · January 31, 2009 11:46 AM · Oh, That Liberal Media! · The Perfect Storm
Headline via the The Sundries Shack, which asks, “Has anyone seen FEMA lately?”

It seems we have people dying by the dozens in the midwest, where they’ve been freezing to death for a few days. Local officials are calling out the Federal government for its notable lack of response.
But Bill Quick (found via Instapundit) believes that “‘Where’s FEMA?’ is not the appropriate question”:
The appropriate question is, “Where is the mainstream media, screaming in one united voice, that the absence of FEMA demonstrates the utter fecklessness and failure of the current President and all his policies?”

Plus his barely concealed racism, of course.

This might be a good time for those who have pledged “to be a servant to my president” to head out there, rather than bitching about the contractors working next door. On the plus side though, to the best of my knowledge, no one on the left has actually been rooting for the snow and ice, unlike previous meteorological disasters:

  14. S.Jensen says:

Oh – and kay – Bush is doing very well. Since we share the same office building I got to meet him last week. I’ll make sure I pass on your concern when I see him next.

  15. kayinmaine says:

What are you doing to help the people who have been affected by the ice storms since you’re so close with George Bush (LOL)? Huh, S.jensen? I bet nothing and you’re instead on here trying to make a claim that Americans don’t care. Well, where were the Americans when two thirds of the state of Maine lost their power (and Canada too) due to an ice storm in January of 1998, you know, when the temperature got well below zero at night? Huh? Oh that’s right. We took care of ourselves and it was because we didn’t have 2,000 people drown in their attics due to the levy breaking as they did in New Orleans! Two different kinds of emergencies, don’t you think? No one froze to death in Maine during our ice storm but a few died from carbon monoxide poisoning from not ventilating their backup heat sources.

I thought the Mid West and the South were the people who built their own bridges and didn’t need the help? Isn’t that what you wingnuts have always told us? The Red States are self-sufficient?

  16. Uncle Fester Lurks says:

Funny how the troll is trying to compare an ice storm to Katrina. Wouldn’t the electric companies and local governments have more to do with helping the people?

If it were just poor black Americans who were suffering from this ice storm I’m sure the troll would say “maybe they should just buy more blankets”

  17. Uncle Fester Lurks says:

It’s just so enjoyable to watch the republican trolls twist in the wind since their party has crashed and burned. Now they will come here and point out something, anything bad that might happen while Barack Obama is president and twist it around and compare it to incidents that happened when their little failed king failed as president.

Of course they don’t realize that anything they want to compare we can just come back with the long list of failures over the past eight years to counter their feeble and personal grievances with President Barack Obama. It must really suck to be a republican these days. Bah ha ha ha ha ha ha!

  18. clif says:

Kay, the help we have received in Kentucky from the ice storms is good, much better then I watched in Aug and Sept 2005 while the shit stain on humanity partied and flew over laughing at the people suffering from Katrina.

BTW they aren’t telling everyone to submit requisitions in triplicate while they send ice to Maine either.

But then again the republican’ts aren’t in charge anymore.

PS; I got my electricity back on obviously.

  19. kayinmaine says:

I’ve been wondering about you Clif! I sent you an email today and thought to myself, “He probably doesn’t have electricity and won’t be able to read this for some time!”. It sucks, Clif, but you’ll all get through it. Drowning in your attic because you don’t have a window or way to cut through the roof? Not so much. ;-) I remember my neighbors and I feeding the Central Maine Power guys when they finally made it to our road to fix the power lines and to cut the trees that had fallen across the road. We were so thankful to see them! And they were happy to get some food and some hot coffee also. This happened all throughout Maine and CMP thanks Mainers for months afterward too.

Exactly Uncle! Had the people in these areas been mainly black Americans, the wingers would have been saying to get some blankets and stop complaining! Assholes. I hate them.

  20. Grant in Texas says:

So our troll has an “office” down the hall from Bush’s “new office” in Texas??? It’s funny that his having an office here other than at the Crawford ranch hasn’t been picked up by Texas newspapers.

We do get reports of Laura traveling into Dallas to oversee the remodeling/decorating of their new multi-million dollar digs there. Dallas has budgeted a million dollars for next year to help protect Bush this (I guess the Secret Service protection isn’t enough). Their new house is on a cul-de-sac and since the gate to close that street hasn’t been installed as yet, the police have to set up patrol car blockades at the entrance when she visits the house.

    http://dallasmorningviewsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/01/bush-moves-to-d.html

  21. S.Jensen says:

Sure Grant – that is funny.

    http://dallasdirt.dmagazine.com/2009/01/21/bush-to-office-at-sherry-lane-place/

Never said down the hall – different floors actually. And yes, it is only for a few months – need to build a bigger office for all those new coloring books he picked up while in office.

If being a troll means not being a crazed rabid member of either outer fringe then I’m proud to be a troll.

  22. Randy Brooks says:

Im so glad taht Cris from Maine has so much in side information that Bush now has “hundred of millions” in his bank account..

Oh, by the way, Obama has done more in just the short time he has been in office to harm this country then Bush ever did….Oh, and hes having a war in Pakistan, and he just told us a billion and a half a year…all the things that Bush was kicked for Obama is doing and spending your grand kids in debt…but alas Chris…

your an un educated very emotional cool aid drinker that only believes in one thing…Bash Bush…

    What a dummy you are
