I have no idea where I’ll be for a portion of today, because as I pointed out in my last post, I’m renting myself out to the Democrats in my area to help them in anyway I can. So, this will be an open thread for now. Who knows, maybe I’ll be home early if there are enough volunteers today. Not sure. I will bringing my camera with me today to capture some moments of this most historic day and if I have time I will post them before the polls close tonight in Maine @ 8pm EST. After that, I’ll be heading to Rep. Terry Hayes’ home for some eats, drinks, and celebration! Myself and others did some phone-banking for her over the last few months and it was incredible to hear that the Independents (unaffiliated voters) went for her 7 to 1. Wow! Let’s hope that IS THE TREND AROUND THE COUNTRY FOR BARACK OBAMA!
If you’re voting today and you think there might be some shenanigans, please bring your valid driver’s license with you and bring a current electric or telephone bill showing your current address on it….just in case. Hell, bring your birth certificate if you feel you have to! We CANNOT allow the republicans to take your RIGHT TO VOTE away. Voting is not a PRIVILEGE….it’s a right! They’ll try anything, so be prepared!
Also, if you’re voting at a large polling place, there will most definitely be large lines ALL DAY LONG until the poll closes, so bring some water with you, some snacks, and wear comfortable clothing & shoes. It’s supposed to rain in a couple of states today, SO BRING YOUR UMBRELLA or wear a hooded coat, sweatshirt.
No way in hell are we going to allow the bastards to knock us down on election day! We will be prepared at all costs!
Oh yeah, one more thing…..WEAR SOMETHING BLUE. But don’t wear anything (not even a button or a bumper sticker) that is political in any sense. I have 3 bumper stickers on my car right now (Obama, Allen, & Michaud), but the rules in my area is I cannot park my car within 25 feet of the door of the polling place, because it could be considered protesting or manipulating the voter. If I did park that close, I could be asked to move my car or leave. So, WEAR BLUE TODAY! You can’t be penalized for doing that. Just thought I’d point this out.
Power of the people, for the people, by the people!
