How many Americans will die at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota this year?

So far, no one has died, but the right wing police of Minnesota is currently raiding homes of liberals and others who were planning on protesting the RNC this week.

Here are two videos of Jane Hamsher of FireDogLake & Glen Greenwald of Salon of their experiences with these police raids:

What are the right wingers of America afraid of? Protest signs that have the truth about their party, their president & VP choice on them? I think so. The right wingers of America know that there will be more protesters outside the building than participants inside the building. The Big Bad Republic Party is scared and to make themselves feel better and to keep their very large egoes intact, they’re raiding the homes of Americans who want to use their FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Awwwwwwwwwww, how cute. Republicans are continuing to show us how much they hate a democracy and the US Constitution and how they much prefer an authoritarian dictatorship such as Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan!

Assholes.

How many Americans will die speaking truth to power at the Republican National Convention this week? Or how many Americans will be locked up for days for no reason at all, except they were planning on protesting the RNC, which is not illegal?

  1. Republicans are going after all of the LIBRUL “sleeper cells” in the Twin Cities.

The Republicans are most concerned about anti-war protesters.

    From Fire Dog Lake:

“About an hour and a half ago 20 to 30 heavily armed police officers surrounded the house,” Whelan said. “One of my roommates said ‘I want to see a warrant’ and she was immediately detained.” She asked the officers why they were there. The officers asked why people were running away from them. Erin reportedly told the officers that their drawn automatic weapons probably had something to do with it. She was detained after asking to see a warrant.

Whelan said it was especially perplexing that the police would target his home.

“There’s nothing here,” he said, “These are the “checking” people. They’re not even going to be in the demonstration. Some are lawyers.”

  2. Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher is a asshole who has been involved directly or indirectly in many controversies over the years in St. Paul. By the way I don’t quite get why a Ramsey county (St. Paul is in Ramsey County) Sheriffs unit is the lead in breaking into homes in Hennepin County (where Minneapolis is located).

  3. Are the republicans scared to death of liberals? Apparently! What a bunch of wimps the RNC wackos are! They’re showing the nation right now how paranoid and scared they really are by breaking into the homes of liberals to yank their protest signs away.

Here’s an idea for a bumper sticker that I found over on Think Progress today:

McCain/Palin = The Bridge To Nowhere

    Bah hahahahahaha! How true!

  4. Okay, youse guys, I’m going to be out of power soon, so yall hold the fort down while I take care of this storm. I’ll get back here as soon as I can to kick neocon butt and shine in the light of the enlightened. UP THE REVOLUTION! Down neocon swine! Up the green! Up the blue! GO OBAMA / BIDEN!!!!

  5. And also Gage, I hope you were okay overnight! It appears the hurricane moved but the Western part of the levees are still in danger because it hasn’t been reinforced. Ha. I thought the big powerful republican Governor Jindal was going to fix that? Ha. Guess not.

  6. Amy Goodman writes WHY she was arrested in St. Paul….The RNC provided St. Paul with 10 million dollars to cover legal costs
from the actions of the police, basically allowing them to arrest
anybody they want without having any legally defensible reason.

Sure, St. Paul will likely lose or throw out most of the cases, but they can afford the lawsuits! Meanwhile, the “protesters” are out of commission. The police can make false or illegal arrests with impunity because they have “insurance”. The money trail clearly starts with the RNC. They essentially paid the local police to suspend the Constitution. Amy and her crew were arrested because the RNC wanted to hide dissent.

Being able to have a fund to pay off all the lawsuits created from illegal actions of a “bought” police force, means that the RNC is ostensibly above the law.

  7. Republicans don’t play fair, face it.

Everything they know about business and the economy they learned from the game of Monopoly. Haven’t you ever played Monopoly with one of the neighborhood thugs who stole money from the bank, tried to slide houses and hotels on his properties when he thought no one was looking and was always trying to buy the “Get Out of Jail Free” cards from everyone else?

Meet John McCain and Sarah Clampett-Palin!
