Ms. Bella is going “Playboy naked” for summer 2008!

My friend Janet every so often takes care of a dog who lives in Durham (the town my son and I used to live in). The dog’s name is Bella, she’s a Newfoundland, and is a “celebrity” in her own right. Ms. Bella and her family will come into the local store to meet and greet everyone. As always, Ms. Bella steals the show! So cute! Bella’s personality is very laid back and happy.

Happy, happy, happy. Did I mention she’s a happy dog?

She’s never in a bad mood and being a Newfie….she just loves people! When she first started coming into the store, the youngest child of this family was shorter than Bella, but that’s okay, because Ms. Bella…as big as she is…was always aware of where he stood so she wouldn’t knock him down.

We all love Bella, so what better way to show her some love than her owners giving her a summer shave!

Janet tells me Ms. Bella loves, loves, loves her new haircut. Well, of course she does, because who the heck wants to go through the hottest part of the year with a coat like that! It’s ‘Playboy naked’ for Ms. Bella in 2008! Janet says Bella is more “cold” than usual, so she now spends lots of time snuggling up with the kids on the couch. How cute is that? I’m sure the kids don’t mind….less hair to peel off their faces now. ;-)

Years ago friends of our family were Newfie breeders and I remember playing with the puppies out back in the large fenced in area. OMG! Newfie puppies are the cutest. They truly understand their role as a rescue dogs too, because they are constantly in-tune to humans. I remember laying on the ground, and instantly, one of the mother dogs would come over and nudge me with her nose to see if I was okay. The puppies followed their Mom…of course. ;-)

    Meanwhile over at Unruly Slobs there has been a falling out between UC and Gary in SF, it seems Gary had a hissy fit and left Unrulies because UC was being “mean” to him. Ba hahahahhaaha! Krazy Karol must be having a conundrum over this.

    I’m back! I knocked on a ton of doors in the heat and now I’m ready to faint. LOL

    Uncle! Well, it has to be expected that the WATBs are being whiney assed titty babies to each other. Remember, these are the people who said they were stronger than me, said they were wealthier and had better jobs, and that they would handle the Cong. Tom Allen & Sen. Suzie-Q Collins race, because as a housecleaner I had no business being in the political arena. And now look at them! They couldn’t handle sticking a Post-It note on a piece of paper! Love it.

    Karol has had only 2 hits to her blog in 2 months and I average 500-10,000 (most days over a 1,000)? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, for some reason I don’t feel bad for “Kay I pay $59 for my bottles of wine Karol”! I have friends Karol. If we shared a bottle of Boones Farm together we’d still have a great time. :lol:

    Well, Ms Clause (Janet) is coming by my place soon. We’re going out for lunch. Uncle, wished you were here so you could join us! ;-)

    By the way Uncle, this morning on FireDogLake Christy Hardin Smith put up her regular Saturday morning thread called, “Pull up a chair”. In this post this morning she referenced “dday” of Digby’s blog. Not sure if he’s the same “D-Day” that is buddies with Mirth or not, but I assumed it was and said this about him:

    Enjoying my week in Chicagoland and attending my class 50th reunion. Had a “pool” party last night and not ONE classmate brought a bathing suit. What kind of suit does one wear to a 50th reunion??? But we did stand and sit around a pool drinking and eating with the Yankees bitching about the “sweltering heat since they have had a few days above 90. Of course being from Houston, every day from May to October is “above 90″ with twice the humidity as here.

    I am holding up pretty good compared to many classmates. I am not in diapers or wearing a bag YET. The hot jock varsity football star, track star came back from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for his FIRST ever reunion. I hadn’t seen him seen him since graduation night and wouldn’t have recognized him without his name tag. He no longer has the “hot bod” that all of the girls in our school swooned over. With a much wrinkled face and thin white hair, he looks nothing like his yearbook pics. At least most recognized me without my tag.

    We have our main banquet tonight then a breakfast tomorrow morning for those who can’t get enough of rehashing the memories of those carefree halcyon Eisenhower years of our teen lives, back when Republicans weren’t so scary. I thought about wearing my Obama T-shirt but had second thoughts. Seemed most classmates were Republicans and they knew my family were big players in the Republican party, some even politicians for local and state contests. No use losing life-long friends over politics.

    Sounds like you’re having a great time, Grant! And yes, us Yankees do bitch about the hot/humid weather. ;-)

    Great pics of Bella… Bella’s my Grand Dog. I haven’t seen her since her hair cut… Michelle said she was shaved but who’d of thunk they would take it so short… And yes, she is a happy happy happy dog and just wonderful with the boys!
