George Bush’s Homeland Security Aide, Stephen Payne, is caught ON VIDEO lobbying for an ex-leader of Krygyzstan to make donations to Bush’s presidential library

Posted on | July 12, 2008 | 11 Comments

Huh. Makes you wonder how many other lobbyists such as Stephen Payne (a Homeland Security Aide….here’s the company he is president of…WARNING PDF) are lobbying Middle Eastern countries to help pay for George Bush’s presidential library?

(CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE UNDERCOVER VIDEO OF STEPHEN PAYNE MAKING THE DEAL)

I wonder how much money George Bush is getting for his library from the country of Uzbekistan, you know, the country that ole Georgie sent prisoners to…to be tortured…and the same country whose president likes to boil people alive for shits and giggles?

I’d like to know if there is ANY American money going to Bush’s library at this point! Uh oh. Wait a minute….John McCain can’t wait to send his money to it! Spit.

(hat tip to Think Progress for uncovering this atrocity)

Yeah, our corp-fascists love reich-wing dictators like Akayev and Bakiyev who is more of the same. By giving them kickbacks, these absolutist leaders let our corporations enter their nation to grab their natural resources.

Another U.S. friend in the region is Uzbekistan’s Islom Karimov. Then there are the many Middle Eastern sheiks, the Royals of Saudi, Kuwait, etc. and our good friend, Pervez Musharraf. Of course the U.S. has a long list of alliances with reich-wingers going back to the days of establishing the “Banana Republics” (NOT the stores) with the likes of Somoza in Nicaragua, Poppa Doc Duvalier in Haiti, Noriega in Panama, Allende in Chile, Batista in Cuba, Fujimori in Peru, Shah Pahlevi in Iran, Saddam Hussein in Iraq (until he was no longer useful to us) and the list goes on and on…

Reviewing the David Schmitz book “Thank God They’re On Our Side”, Max Paul Friedman of Florida State University says:

“This book is essential for understanding the central paradox of twentieth-century American foreign policy: why the world’s oldest democracy repeatedly backed dictatorships in the name of freedom. Defenders of right-wing dictators argued they were a necessary evil. In his careful study of the collapse of the Cold War consensus since 1965, David Schmitz challenges the notion that this violation of core American values actually served U.S. interests. Friendly tyrants resisted necessary reforms and destroyed the political center, while the ‘realist’ policy of coddling dictators brought a backlash among foreign populations with long memories. A crucial insight into the uncertain status of America in the world today.”

While our…”friends” in Pakistan say they will not allow the US to hunt for Bin Laden in their country.

Yup, another corrupt dictator whom Bush calls friend is telling the US to go f**k itself. Hey I know lets give Pakistan even more aid. That way we can go to war with them in a few years after they have built up their military with our financial aid.

Pakistan says they will not allow the US to hunt for Bin Laden in their country.

yet another one of our so called “ally or friend” telling our government to go f**k themselves!

Hey I know lets continue to give Pakistan financial aid so that we can go to war with them in a few years after they build up their military with the money we give them.

I didn’t include Uribe of Colombia on my list of right-wingers whom our nation funds. I applaud his crackdown on FARC, a violent leftist group that raises funds by smuggling cocaine out of that nation to the streets of the world, BUT where does Uribe stand with the right-wing paramilitary groups who do the same thing? Looking the other way?

Grant, The Columbian Supreme Court is questioning the legality of Uribes present term as president. It seems Uribe and his goons forced an amendment that allowed Uribe to run for another term.

Hmmm the Bushites like to call Hugo Chavez a dictator but if I recall he was going to rewrite his countries constitution so that he could become leader for life but then he changed his mind and yet Uribe changes his countries laws so that he can run for another term…now who is the real dictator here?

How come the right wingers aren’t commenting on this post? Bah hahahahahahaha! Ooopsie. Is it because they know al-Qaida is another group whom the Bush Regime has been dealing with for years and they’re buddies?

Good thinking Kay! LOL

It’s really gotta be embarrassing to be a right winger and to be worshiping George Bush and the Gestapo GOP.

That in exchange for Askar Akayev giving money to the Bush Libary, Bush will help the deposed leader, living IN EXILE in Russia, to improve his image around the world has to be the JOKE here. Like Bush has such a great image himself. Of course I am sure Bush admires Akayev because the latter attempted to set up the Akayev family to become a ruling dynasty, perhaps like a “Bush dynasty”!

The former Kyrgyzstan leader set up his son Aidar Akayev and his daughter Bermet Akayeva as candidates in the 2005 legislative election, and it was widely suspected that he was going to retain either de facto power by arranging for the election of a close supporter or relative, or perhaps even by abrogation of the term limit provision in the constitution and remain in power. One of the first signs of a dictatorship is when elected leaders attempt to change their constitutional term limit provisions.
