Al-Qaida watches C-SPAN? Huh. Who knew.
Thanks to the wingnut and American traitor, David Addington (Dick Cheney’s Chief of Staff), we now know the guys who live in caves and call themselves “al-Qaida” watch C-SPAN! Spit. Interesting….they know this, but yet, can’t seem to get a good handle on al-Qaida. Is it maybe because 9/11 was an inside job and was used to get into Iraq to help al-Qaida out? Well, they did want to get into Iraq to use this country as a new place for training. Thanks to George Bush….they’re in there now and when a few hundred Taliban/al-Qaida members broke out of a prison in Afghanistan recently, the Bush Regime and the ROM (republican owned media) didn’t report on it, even though today they’re saying the al-Qaida sympathizers, the Taliban, have regrouped itself JUST IN RECENT DAYS. Shocker! Anyone care? Oh that’s right…Addington and others think al-Qaida is busy watching American television to even care. Spit.

Wow Gage! Thanks for the link to soldier chewing Johnny McTeleprompter a new one. I posted it over on FireDogLake. The last time I posted a video over there and on my blog (it was the one by FlipTV called “We Are Republicans”) the video was played on KO’s Countdown (though, Johnny Foo Foo Aravosis posted it on his blog after I posted it on mine and that’s probably where KO found it LOL).

OMG I love it! On KO’s show tonight, he’s questioning NASA and their conclusion that asparagus could be grown in the “ice/water” found on Mars! LOL I’m telling you…there’s something very fishy going on over there at NASA. Maybe they’re the Bush Regime’s last chance to redeem themselves? Could be!
From 1:00 a.m. until 4:00 a.m. PST [one bathroom trip and some scotch], I watched the entire hearings on CSPAN.
If others watched, they know that Mr. Delahunt wasn’t supposed to be allowed to question [not a committee member] and this was objected to by the member from Iowa [GOP Congressman, although the lizard's name eludes me].
This was objected to and upheld but later on towards the end, another member yielded his time and the gentlemen from Iowa had left and he could not possibly object in absentia
And this is where things got interesting between Addington and Delahunt.
Anyways, I won’t even get into the meat of the matter, but I offer a creepy [almost trivial] observation on D. Addington; did anyone notice he mimics Cheney’s mannerisms, that he gesticulates in exactly the same way? It was creepy and that guy is one callous tool! I am using gesticulate to indicate how much he was actually saying with his body language, etc. then his actual verbiage.
The distinguished professor John Yoo is FRAKN hopeless and intellectually speaking, a comedy of errors. I think it was awesome that it looks like the seeds for going after Yoo were planted last night by the Duke law professor who was on Yoo’s left, Mr. Schroeder I believe? He was occasionally being included into a discussion by way of rejoinder, or simply questioned. Yes so, the very loose argument. It was basically presented in the form of a question; Is his torture memo a form of malpractice, i.e. can he be disbarred for it ? That is a tad oversimplified, but basically that is the gist I got from the exchange.
It was late so I didn’t take notes on the players and truly, I must say I could not turn it off. I felt like shit today and not just from being tired.

The Martian soil has been found to be a sandy loam a bit on the alkaline side that could well grow vegetables like asparagus, green beans, turnips, etc. IF one added a good fertilizer. However, the analysis of the Martian earth did not reveal any signs of organic matter meaning that there is no proof yet of “life” ever existing on Mars.
A human colony there would need heated “greenhouses” since the AVERAGE recorded surface temperature on Mars is -81°F (-63°C) with a maximum temperature of 68°F (20°C) and a minimum of -220°F (-140°C). That maximum is at the “equator” and without an atmosphere, it gets most cold after the sun sets.
WCBaboon, I’m so glad you watched it! I wasn’t able to, but on the drive home today, I heard Howie Carr (out of Boston…he’s a right winger) talking about Delahunt’s statement. Howie kept saying Delahunt was standing up for America’s enemies by saying al-Qaida now has a chance to see Addington’s face. How absurd! I hope C-SPAN replays it tomorrow early so I can watch it or have it on in the background while I get ready for the big pahtay at my house tomorrow night!
Addington is a warmongering lying asshole so it’s not surprising to me that his mannerisms are just like Cheney’s! Two peas in a pod.
Grant, what I don’t get is if Mars is so cold then why did the “ice” melt a few days later? Just seems weird to me. I’m one that has to be given lots of info before I make my decision.
Ice evaporates even below freezing because unless ice is at absolute zero (−459.67°F), the ice molecules are always moving (actually vibrating) and will slowly escape (the more rise in temperature, the more energy for this) in a process called sublimation (going from solid “ice” to a gas without going through a liquid state like frozen carbon dioxide ["dry ice"] and moth balls slowly evaporating). Plus in sunlight, Mars does get above freezing but without a thick atmosphere as a “blanket” the surface quickly cools off below freezing again after sunset. When the NASA robot scraped off the insulating dirt from the ice, the sun’s radiant energy was enough to cause sublimation, thus the reason for the ice soon disappearing.
Kay, I think bush is looking for a legacy — ANY legacy other than Iraq. Well too fuckin bad for the genius. His daddy can’t get him out of this one. He might as well have “Iraq” tatooed to his simian forehead.

I’m still having a hard time with all these “discoveries”. Seems too quick to me. And yes Gage! Bush needs some kind of legacy that is positive, so finding “life/ice/garden crops/” on Mars could be it!
Remember I am a retired high school science teacher. That’s the first “lecture” I have given on sublimation since 2004!
I don’t like the false hope being put out there that if we screw up Earth, we can always start over again on Mars. Even the most primitive colonization is still years away and will be most expensive. Of course, the fundies believe that the “rapture” will come soon (some like the Rev. Jack Van Impe hyping the PAGAN Mayan calendar stating it will be 2012). Therefore, as did Reagan’s Sec. of Interior James Watt stated, we don’t need to be concerned about saving our planet since the “good folk” will soon be outta here, anyway.
