The Clerk of the US House of Representatives is reading the 35 ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT Dennis Kucinich introduced last night!

Right now on C-SPAN (House of Representatives) the Clerk of the House IS READING THE 35 ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT AGAINST GEORGE W. BUSH! Holy crap!!! I am so looooooooooooving this right. Just the fact the House is being forced BY ONE MEMBER to do WHAT THE CONSTITUTION ALLOWS HIM TO DO (AND WHAT THEY SHOULD BE DOING!) is fantastic!

**********************************************

Bah hahahahahahaha! Oh gawd, this is good. I completely missed the 5 hours it took for Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) to read the 35 Articles of Impeachment (click here to read the ENTIRE 63 PAGESWARNING PDF FILE) against George Bush yesterday and I could slap myself for it, but from what I’m reading online today, all five hours were worth it for our nation! Yep. Here’s the beginning part of Dennis Kucinich’s historic moment on the floor of the House of Representatives last evening…

From what I’m gathering, by reading the 35 Articles of Impeachment against George Bush, it goes into the PUBLIC record (the Senate will have to acknowledge the Articles too) and if George Bush wants to pardon anyone, he won’t be able to because he’s under the suspicion of impeachment. Woohoo!!!!

Awwwww, poor Georgie, Dickie, Condi, Rummy, and the Other War Criminals.

Here’s what Ramsey Clark said in response to Dennis Kucinich’s historic speech:

Impeachment is not a political question. Impeachment is a constitutional duty. It is the one power and highest duty the Constitution rests in the Congress to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States when the President, Vice President, and other civil officers of the United States commit treason, bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.

George Bush has deliberately, falsely and systematically mislead the Congress and the American people concerning the most criminal, costly and harmful acts of his administration, leading us to war, tragic loss of human life, the devastation of Iraq, military expenses reaching trillions of dollars, disruption of the economy that will take decades to overcome, a contemptuous assault on the Bill of Rights, an international humanitarian disaster, deliberate antagonism and provocation of nations and people, most once friendly, and an enlarging assault on the earth’s environment.

On June 5, 2008, a long delayed five year U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence study and 170-page report unanimously found President Bush, Vice President Cheney and other top officers had made false charges and systematically presented a more dire picture about Iraq than justified by intelligence provided only to them. The Committee included both Democrats and Republicans.

Today President Bush is exerting all his power and influence to repeatedly urge Europe, Israel and others to support an attack on Iran which he intends to commence in the remaining months of the presidency. Iran is larger than Iraq and Afghanistan, has millions of people, richer by a multiple, unimpaired by recent war and will fight fiercely if attacked. He is negotiating a permanent U.S. military presence in Iraq placing the U.S. on Iran’s border.

The next several Presidents of the United States will spend their time in office miserably fighting wars started by Bush, as our economy is consumed in military spending.

Impeachment, a Constitutional duty, is the only way to prevent George W. Bush and his cabal from vastly enlarging the disastrous wars he has already inflicted on the world and the American people. The House of Representatives must quickly consider Bills of Impeachment long overdue, and the Senate must prepare to sit in judgment of President Bush, Vice President Cheney other officers who are implicated.

Rep. Robert Wexler is stating that he is going to secure impeachment hearings. Here’s what he said

Our effort to hold the Bush/Cheney Administration accountable has taken another dramatic step forward. Last night, Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced the first Articles of Impeachment ever to be introduced against President Bush. It includes, in total, thirty-five Articles detailing this Administration’s blatant abuse of power. Today, I enthusiastically co-sponsored this vitally important bill.

I am grateful for Dennis’ leadership on this issue and for the steadfast support that countless Americans have given to both of our efforts to redeem our government and expose the crimes of Bush and Cheney.

I will now expand my efforts to secure impeachment hearings in the Judiciary Committee for these new Articles of Impeachment against President George W. Bush.

I know quite a few Americans are upset that impeachment hasn’t happened all this time, but I said last year and the beginning of this year online that I thought the Democrats would use the months before the November presidential election to get impeachment back on the table. It appears they’re doing it! I’ve got my fingers crossed. At any rate, just knowing that George Bush is shitting his pants is enough for me…though…I’d love to see him in prison. Let’s shoot for prison next! Dick Cheney too!

So, what do you think?

A lot of Americans are in favor of impeachment, but the Democratic party disagrees. It was a brilliant presentation, but the truth is that it most likely isn’t going anywhere.

This is the ultimate Republican victory, and it was won during the Clinton administration. By wholly politicizing the impeachment tool, they completely pulled its teeth. What should be a slam-dunk — a President who openly admits illegal behavior and a cadre of underlings ready to corroborate all that we fear — has instead become the subject to debate over whether it is politically expedient or “what the people want,” or what-the-fuck-ever. These questions shouldn’t even be asked.

    Great posts.

O/T — FreePress.net, part of the National Conference for Media Reform, has a novel idea. Reasoning that, if Bill O’Reilly is attacking you, you must be doing something effective, they are asking members and friends to send this letter to O’Reilly thanking him for the attack and asking him to stop pretending he’s a journalist, (in those words.) If you’d like to sign, here it is:

I thought it was brilliant too. I hope Dennis Kucinich keeps doing this until election day. Not only will he make the republicans in the House look bad, but he will also be exposing the Democrats too. I know one thing….Congressman Mike Michaud of Maine will be voting in favor of this resolution! Woohoo!!!

Republican “Victory” = IMPEACHING OVER A BLOW JOB!

    Nice try, troll. Bah hahahahahahaha!

And Borrowed Suits? If what Dennis Kucinich forced the House to do over the course of the last 24 hours is “laughable” and just a “political stunt”, then why is the ROM (republican owned media) not reporting on it extensively? Huh? You’d think the right wing media would be to “show how the Democrats are out of touch with the American people”?

Over 65% wants impeachment of the criminals in the Bush Regime. Less than 30% still support George Bush and far less than that support Dick Cheney.

The ROM along with individuals in our government are scared of impeaching because of their roles in cheerleading an illegal occupation and they knew full well George Bush was lying. Hell, I own a housecleaning business and I knew the assholes were lying to us back then!

The excuse given to us by Pelosi and others about impeachment are so lame. Like when they say impeachment would be a distraction the American people do not want or that impeachment would get in the way of congress from doing their job and passing bills.

Um…first of all the American people can deal with a “distraction” this important. Second of all, it’s their job as the legislation branch of government to go after the executive branch when there is an abuse of power or criminal actions committed. Thirdly, nothing is getting done anyway because once a bill gets passed in congress it will be filabustered or obstructed in the senate by the cockroaches on the republican side. Not doing anything creates a dangerous precedent for future presidents. We know damn well that if Bush were a democrat, the republicans would have tried to impeach him a long time ago.

Bush is apologizing SORT OF for the run up to his attack on Iraq to the Europeans this week.

“I think that in retrospect I could have used a different tone, a different rhetoric,” Bush told the Times of London.

The phrases he used to win support for the war such as “bring ‘em on” and “dead or alive” he said, “indicated to people that I was, you know, not a man of peace.”

But that impression, he insisted, was far from the truth.

“One of the untold stories of Iraq is that we explored the diplomacy a lot,” he said. “We all wanted to solve this ‘disclose, disarm, or face serious consequences’ in a diplomatic fashion. After all, I went to the United Nations security council.”

And he LIED to the UN too! He lives in a world of disillusion and mendacity.

Dubya, the idiot who wanted to become King George…..

Constitutional Law Professor David Adler says, “No executive in the history of the Anglo-American world since the Civil War in England in the 17th century has laid claim to such broad power. George Bush has exceeded the claims of Oliver Cromwell who anointed himself Lord Protector of England.”

Adler said the authors of the U.S. Constitution wrote that the president “shall take care to faithfully execute the laws of the land” because “the king of England possessed a suspending power” to set aside laws with which he disagreed, “the very same kind of power that the Bush Administration has claimed.”

We need to keep up the pressure on her, because if we don’t, then we can blame ourselves. Honestly, I’m not about to get on my knees and beat my back with a whip until it bleeds. I don’t blame myself. I blame the republics and Democrats who continue to cover up for and protect. They’ll have to explain why they did years from now if nothing comes of this week. I won’t have to. I will have plenty to say when the time comes.

    Thank you!

WELCOME BACK, GRANT! Hope you had a wonderful time in Alaska!

Yes, I caught the Northwest in the middle of their “spring” even though a foot of snow fell down to the 2500 foot level near Seattle yesterday. They have had such a cold spring that most roses were still only buds for the Portland Rose Festival this past weekend. We had our azaleas blooming here in Texas in February and along with rhododendrons, they were just now blooming up there. Only saw two days above 60° in two weeks. Nice to be back where we have 300 days of sunshine a year even though we have to put up with every day being above 90° from May through September. Cloudy, rainy days, along with neocons, make me depressed!

Went to the beach in Seaside, Oregon where it was only 54° and mostly deserted. Now to put away winter clothes and get my shorts and sandals back out! That part of the nation is beautiful (if one can see it through the clouds and drizzle). I did see Mt. St. Helen on a rare sunny day. Bald eagles were plentiful in Alaska and one native noted they are the “pigeons of Alaska”. I visited the Raptor Center in Sitka where they help injured birds heal that have had collisions with motor vehicles or utility wires. I saw many humpback whales in Auke Bay in Juneau, but rain canceled my helicopter trip up to the glaciers so I never got to make a snowball. I did enjoy a floatplane trip up Misty Fjord just south of Ketchikan.

I noticed only Obama and Ron Paul signs all over and not one for Clinton or McCain! So I was definitely in liberal/libertarian country. Ron Paul is still running and plans to spoil McCain’s “party” in St. Paul this summer! :)

Congress and the media are complicit.

    Over ride them.

    Go to the street.

Demand impeachment to restore the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Lawful Government.

300 million Americans cannot be ignored in the street.

    Do not wait for congress.

    Act.

    Pass it on.

Welcome back Grant! Sounds like you had a wonderful time seeing the country. How lucky you are! Eagles are considered “pigeons” up there in Alaska? Maybe we should start calling the Gathering of Eagles the Gathering of Pigeons? Bah hahahahahahaha! Or maybe just refer to the GOP as the Pigeon Party! LOL

    Batguano101, let’s go! I’m ready. ;-)

Is impeachment fever catching around the world???

On Monday of this week, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd told his Parliament that his predecessor, John Howard, had abused intelligence to lead his country into a war that has only served to increase globalterrorism.

Yesterday, in response to widespread opposition to the war in Iraq throughout their country, Canada’s House of Commons passed a non-binding resolution calling on their government to stop the deportation of U.S. Iraq war resisters who came to Canada seeking refuge from participating in a war that they saw as illegal and immoral – those “who have refused or left military service related to a war not sanctioned by the United Nations.”

No LIE can stand forever. As the support for this war falls away around the world, we come closer and closer to the day when our troops will be brought home. We cannot afford a President McCain.
