And forty years later, Hillary Rodham Clinton is playing games with the American people. Not sure what was happening last night and who initiated the meeting, but Barack Obama went to the Clinton’s home in DC for a meeting. If he does a press conference today sporting a black eye and telling us he’s chosen her as his VP, I’m going to scream!!!
Three times this year, Hillary Rodham Clinton has brought up Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination when explaining her reasons for staying in the presidential primary race so long. Rational Americans didn’t think it was funny. It’s very macabre to think a former First Lady would say something like that or even imply the unthinkable just because she wants to reside AGAIN in the White House, but there she was, bringing up a NATIONAL TRAUMA selfishly and to the horror of many.
The picture above is of Robert Kennedy talking to a little boy, Ricky Taggart, in 1966. Say wha? RFK was talking to a little black boy? Oh the horror! He was and RFK was always reaching out to the “unfortunate” among us. Fast forward 40 years and what do we have today? We have a nation full of Harriet Christians! Oh yes. Those DIEHARD Hillary supporters are going to vote for John McCain he’s white and because they just can’t bring themselves to vote for a black man today! Nice huh? Guaranteed these women & men cried when RFK (and JFK) was assassinated. They saw him as a path to peace in all levels of our society.
The diehard Hillary supporters today who SAY they’re for peace, against war, against torture, and against the criminal actions of the Bush Regime for the past eight years have decided they’ll vote for John McCain, you know, the guy who has voted 95% of the time in favor of George Bush’s policies. Why would they vote for him over the Democratic candidate? Oh that’s right! Barack Obama is half black and that is scary to the regressives of our nation! If John McCain wins, I will blame the stupid racist assholes of our nation which means, it will be the diehard Hillary supporters who will be blamed besides the white neocons who support George Bush & John McCain! Yep! They’re willing to vote against everything they believe in! Oh for crying out loud!
The regressives of our nation need to be pushed aside. We’re tired of them and can no longer tolerate their way of thinking.
Robert F. Kennedy died on June 6, 1968. It will be interesting what Hillary Rodham Clinton will be doing tomorrow on this upsetting anniversary. Will she be upsetting the Democratic Party once again? Could be. How about riling up the racists? Maybe. Riling up the racists brought her far during this race, now didn’t it? Spit. She’s supposed to be throwing in the towel and supporting Barack Obama, but time will tell. We’ll find out tomorrow if Hillary Rodham Clinton is a regressive or a progressive. Something tells me after 40 years, Hillary will not make us proud. We’ll have to wait and see, though.
It’s no wonder to me why Caroline & Ted Kennedy are reaching out to and supporting Barack Obama. Even though they’ve known Hillary Clinton a lot longer, they don’t see her now as a progressive, a forward thinker, or even trustworthy. They have good reason to not trust her. Barack Obama has energized the Democratic Party for the first time in years while Hillary Clinton has taken in the foes of our Party, Rush Limbaugh & Karl Rove, to help her out to win the presidency and at times decided it was better to pander to the republican base, while pushing aside those who agree with most of her stances. How the hell can you trust ANYONE who makes a move like that? Sorry, but I can’t, and neither can the Kennedy’s.
Barack Obama is a beacon of light for our country and Hillary Rodham Clinton is still stuck in the mindset of 40 years ago. So sad for Hillary. It’s my hope she can be gracious this weekend. Please Hillary…..don’t be an asshole!
As has been done for 40 years now, we’ll be thinking of the Kennedy family, our nation, and asking the question once again, “What have we become?”. Let’s hope the answer this year is CLEAR THINKING AMERICANS WHO DO NOT JUDGE PEOPLE BY THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN, but rather, JUDGE A PERSON ON THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER.

Kay, the difference between Bobby Kennedy and either George W bush and John McCain is simply stunning.
One of the vest examples occurred on the very night Martin Luther King was assassinated, when Bobby was supposed to go into inner city neighborhood of Indianapolis Indiana to campaign that fateful night in April 1968. the mayor and most city police expected violence and rioting, and told Bobby not to go in, as they couldn’t protect him. He had no secret service protection either, his assassination was the reason candidates got SS protection. Bobby went anyway, because he saw the residents of those neighborhoods as people just like him, and tried to help with their grief.
He actually broke the news to some.
That speech is considered one of the best of the 20th century, because of all the cities in the United Stated which erupted in violence from the grief after the brutal murder of Dr King, “Indi” wasn’t one of them.
Listen to Bobby talk to the people in their time of grief.
Robert Kennedy speech on death of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Compare what he said with the chest thumping of either Bush or McCain.
We lost a lot when we lost Bobby, we lost our country for over 40 years.
Bobby had a quote I like a lot;
“There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why… I dream of things that never were and ask why not.”
I think about that quote, and wonder what we would be like as a country if three assassin’s bullets hadn’t done their dirty deeds during the 60’s,
One thing I know we wouldn’t be in the absolute mess we are in right now.
Bobby’s ‘68 campaign was my introduction to politics, though I was far too young to vote, I followed all 82 days of it for a school project.
Bobby influenced me back then, as a result I look on the country and planet with eyes he helped he see through.
I don’t believe Obama will ask Clinton to take the VP slot. In fact, I’ll be amazed if he does. (I’ll also start preparing myself for four more years of bush — McClone.)
Thanks Clif for your comment! Our country was on the right track back then, wasn’t it? Now look at us! The nation is full of “Harriet Christians” who are about as Christian as a reich wing Evangelical. Sad. I’m not surprised RFK is who motivated you back then. You’re still an open-minded sweet person who only judges those with an “R” after their name! Me too, Clif. Me too. Bunch of knuckledragging Cro-magnons the reich wingers are.
Gage, if he chooses her it will be under duress. I would not trust her after all she said and did during the campaign season. He’d be a fool!
Okay, going to work. Talk to you guys later!
#1 Beautiful tribute. Thanks Kay and Cliff. Showing respect and appreciation is the biggest difference between us and them.I’m glad the US allowed the Kennedy/Fitzgerald immigrants into the country.
Does he need her?
I know she says she has 17 million etc. but just because they voted for her in the past doesn’t mean that she hold sway over anything like that number of potential Democrat voters. In November there is going to be an election, I can see some Hillary supporters abstaining in protest, and some even switching party allegiance and voting for McCain or Nader, but surely the vast majority of that 17 million are going to vote for Obama. And even if did have her as his VP, what’s to say that she would bring over many of supporters who are saying they won’t vote for him. I would have thought Hillary is more of hindrance than a help.
Steph, it’s unimaginable to me that many of the Clinton supporters who say they’ll vote for McClone instead of Obama will actually do it. Some may just stay home, but the majority, I think, will pull the lever for Barack. And let’s not forget, he hasn’t really begun campaigning against McClone yet. He has several months to convince the Clinton supporters that he is the only reasonable choice. (They’ll know it after the first Obama / McClone debate.) If some of them have to hold their noses when they pull the lever, then, so be it.

Clif, thanks for the link to Kennedy’s speech. I remember it from the time and it’s as moving today as it was then. Can anyone imagine george bush ever so eloquently expressing empathy and compassion? Can anyone even believe bush is capable of such empathy?

Gage, that’s how I see it. Hillary brings nothing to the table, except the Israel lobby, which represents money not votes. He’s not going to win over the racist because Hillary’s by his side reluctantly endorsing him, and most Democrats, who are not enthralled by Obama, will still vote against insane McCain. I really can’t see Hillary’s die-hard feminists voting for the man who calls his wife a cunt and whore, and ponces off her millions.
I wonder if Obama chose a VP who voted for the war resolution, would it void him as the as the anti-war candidate?
Hey I know…Obama/Kucinich or Obama/Feingold.
Yeah I know those two choices wouldn’t go over well with mainstream America…dumbasses!
Hi Kay: what an eloquent post—you echo some of the same uneasiness I felt when I heard of the meeting last night.
I am glad I found your blog. It seems like a haven. I actually found it when I googled “Grant in Houston”, who had disappeared from a site that I frequently visit. His posts had been so thoughtful and illuminating, and I looked forward to them. So, when I visited over and over and he was never there, I started to get worried about him, as I think he is TERRIFIC. The wonders of Google’s search engines were able to answer my question and reassure me.
So, Grant, I am glad you are fine and writing away. And I seem to have found here a great, thoughtful blog. So thanks for that, too.
Steph, I thought of something we haven’t mentioned. I’d be willing to bet that for every Democrat who’d cross over to McClone there’s a republcant ready to leave his or her party or else stay home on election day. Here’s something I found on Crooks and Liars. Click on the video and take note especially of the caller from Tennessee at the end of the clip. i think what he says rings true for a whole lot of republicants.

Woo Hoo! Thanks Gage for that link to that little punk ass Jeb Hensarling! I remember last year when the little punk ass said “I’ve never received a job from a poor person.” I wanted to crawl through my TV screen and choke the smugness out of him.
Good bye republican party and good riddance. Democrats, you are now on notice. Do the will of the people or face the wrath of we the people!
Still no word whether the Democrats are going to correct language in the energy bill. As I said on a earlier thread, during a hearing on energy/oil price manipulation a panelist told Senators Klobuchar, Cantwell and Bill Nelson of Florida that the bill needed the word “Oil” added to it or nothing would change and if it were added the price of oil would drop 25% or possibly back down to $40.00-$55.00 a barrel. IF the democrats do not change the language then they will be DEAD to me as much as the republicans are.
Bah hahahahahaha! Thanks for the link Gage! Did Americans speak truthfully this morning? Yep! Love it. Speak truth to power even if your voice cracks. Woohoo!
Uncle, it disgusts me that those Democratic Senators aren’t fighting to get that word in. What the hell? I am so effing tired of the bullshit. Americans are not happy with gas prices right now and if it goes up to $9/gallon for both gas & heating oil, then most Mainers this winter will have to choose between either DYING of starvation or freezing to death. Nice huh? THE REPUBLICANS & the few lousy Democrats who support the LOUSY REPUBLICANS will be blamed for each and every death!!!!!
Thanks for the nice compliment, Catsandmusic. We love GrantinHouston too. He’s in Alaska right now with his man and will be back in a week or so.
Uncle, I can hear it now, “What? Obama & Kucinich? But what about Kucinich’s ears!!!! I can’t vote for a man who is short and with ears like that!”. Spit. Have I mentioned I’m sick of the TYPICAL DUMBASS AMERICANS lately? No? *pushing Volumes 237-895 to you*
Steph, as Gage pointed out, the mood of the nation is against the republicans right now. Even the Mickey Mouse Club won’t vote in a republican as Captain. Bah hahahahahaha! Hell, the spoiled rotten kids of republicans get booed off the stage when running for Class President. LOL
Molly, Clif is sweet, huh? Now I understand why he is who he is. He was awoken to humanity many years ago by Robert F. Kennedy. Love that!
Yep, Uncle and Kay, it’s quite refreshing to see someone like Hensarling get his what for. notice how he just sits there looking like he’s holding a pile of shit in his mouth? Love it!
Did anyone click on the link to Bugliosi’s site that I left above?
“Pile of shit in his mouth”…love it, Gage! So true. I wonder what his answers were to the comments or if he chose to not answer them at all. I didn’t watch this morning so I have no idea what he said. I’d love to know!
Gage, powerful video!!!!! I’d like to read that book.
Here’s a link directly to the video:
