Ole Mike Savage admitted it on his radio hate program yesterday while mocking Sen. Ted Kennedy’s brain tumor diagnosis. What a setting for it!

CALLER: Michael, you’re the man. I’m a corrections officer over here in Las Vegas, and I’ve been listening to you for about 15 years, and I always knew you were a closet punk rocker. Keep it up, man. DKs all the way.

Anyways, Mike Savage said yesterday on his Hate Monger program that he would not spend the day lambasting Ted Kennedy because he wanted to take the high road. Uh huh. Well, Howie Carr of WRKO Hate Monger Radio in Boston said the same thing and I have to say, Howie did pretty well to contain himself along with his listeners, oh….but not Mike Savage! Nope, Mike had to play the Dead Kennedy’s for his listeners!

Lantos’ death (the only Holocaust survivor to serve in the Congress) and spent some time yesterday going after Sen. Byrd (he’s old & disabled!), because of Byrd’s very touching response to Ted Kennedy’s diagnosis.
It was very obvious yesterday the right wingers (America’s Taliban) was having a hard time controlling themselves when they learned Ted Kennedy had a very aggressive cancerous brain tumor. I expected it. In fact, if Dick Cheney or George Bush were given a similar diagnosis, I would probably react the same way. At least I’m honest about it!
So what’s the big deal then about the right wingers responding like Savage did? I’ll tell you why….because I don’t go around saying, “I’m part of the family values crowd! I’m more moralistic than you are! I’m a good compassionate Christian! God loves me because I have an “R” after my name! I’m perfect!”. Nope, but this is what the right wingers do all the time. They point fingers at us liberals/progressives/Democrats and say that we have no class and then when the shoe drops, guess what we get from them? THEIR HYPOCRISY!
How about some honesty with yourselves, neocons? Is it possible?

The other thing that made me think is that in most cases whenever there has been an assassination of a political or public figure in our country, the assassin is usually always labeled as deranged etc.
Could the real purpose be that the FBI is looking for the next “patsy” or “fall guy”? Are they “weeding” out the next Sirhan, Sirhan, Hinkley, Chapman or Oswald? Find a guy who is nuts and a racist, collect all damning information on him about his feelings for Barack Obama, set up the assassination, and have the assassin or fall guy pre-selected?
A while back I mentioned what could happen around this country if the super delegates
handed Hillary the party nominee, how there could be riots and possibly the excuse Bush would need for implementing martial law. Well imagine what would happen if Barack (God forbid) were assassinated.

Hillary is in Florida trying to get the popular vote there to count for her. When reminded that she doesn’t deserve Michigan’s vote since Sen. Barack Obama didn’t allow his name to appear on that state’s ballot, her camp said, “That was HIS choice!”
Shows you how rules are for everybody else except for neocons like the Clintons. They are doing a bang up job of destroying the Democrats’ chances to get back full power this fall. The Clintons should be run out of the party. Let them join Joe Lieberman’s crowd.

I’m not getting involved in the pissing match about the right slamming or mocking Ted Kennedy. Yes it is in bad taste but I seem to recall many progressives doing the same thing at progressive blogs when some figure on the right has passed away.
Who gives a shit what the idiots on the reich say, they only do it to inflame the left and fire up their knuckle dragging followers.
Also and I may get some shit for this. In regards to Chris In Maines comment yesterday (and I mean no offense to Chris) where he said anyone who is not saddened by the news of Ted Kennedy’s cancer, they are disturbed.
My sympathy and prayers go out to Ted Kennedy and his family but do I feel sad? No. Why? Because I personally do not know the man. Yes he has gone thru hell and back in his life, a life filled with tragedy. He has also been a great fighter for the little people and his death would no doubt be a colossal loss for the Democratic party and the Senate but he has also lived a life of luxury that many of us can only dream about.
I feel sad for my neighbor who within the last 18 months has lost both of his parents, a brother inlaw, his job and his girlfriend of 13 years (break up) Now am I disturbed?
Although I am sure some progressives joked on their personal and partisan blogs when Reagan died, I don’t recall ever hearing anyone on Air America, or the few other liberals in broadcasting exhibiting glee over the PUBLIC airwaves about anyone’s disease, misfortune, or demise (unless caused by stupidity and hypocrisy like Sen. Craig and Sen. Vitter). Even Republicans like McCain and some others are showing respect and honoring Sen. Kennedy’s long service to this nation.
The right-wingers on talk radio did the same thing when Sen. Paul Wellstone was killed. I have tried not to act like a Freeper anywhere I go on line. I don’t wish to wallow in the same gutter with them. You won’t find me typing words like Repuke, either, as most of my family and friends are Republicans and they are in a different class apart from the neocons and the right-wing haters. Most of the Republicans I know are more socially liberal than many of the DINO “Democrats” so labels don’t mean much in the end.
Speaking of DINOS. It was gleaned from exit polls that the many whites who said they would vote for McCain over Obama are the same “Reagan ‘democrats’” who voted in a greater number for George W. Bush than said they will reject Obama as our party’s nominee. It was nice that Hillary had two of the most bigoted of states as her last votes making it appear like she has this great momentum. Her racist supporters would have voted the same in January even before most had ever heard of Rev. Wright.
