QUOTE OF THE DAY:

<br />

GLENN BECK AT CPAC 2010: ‘Hello, my name is the Republican Party, and I’ve got a problem. I’m addicted to spending and big government…I’m addicted to spending and I just don’t want to spend today.’ (CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO QUOTE)

"If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal,” then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.” ~ John F. Kennedy, 1960

When George Bush talks…the stock market plummets

Well of course it does! How can investors and the rest of America trust this man anymore…especially if he has Dick Cheney standing behind him as he told the country that the economy isn’t all that bad? They can’t. In my opinion, the economy has been teetering for a few years now. I think it’s been in a recession despite the reports that come out of the Bush Regime (placing cronies in key positions helps with the image that all is well, you know!). So…

…it wasn’t surprising today as George Bush gave his press conference that the stock market went down. Actually, it was pretty funny to watch. Before his press conference, the DOW was down @ -4 points, but as soon as Bush started babbling on, it quickly dropped to -25 points. At one moment it was down almost 100 points! When his press conference ended? It started to shoot back up and actually went over and then it finished out the day @ -60 points.

Investors know what is coming and whether we go into a recession or straight into a depression will be interesting. Bush asking the Congress for help in all of this has had me steaming for a day or two now. This man has never cared about the economy. All he’s talked about is Iraq and how much he needs more money for it! He could care less if the economy tanks, because I’m sure he has offshore bank accounts with American money laundered into them…you know…the money that was supposed to go to Iraq to train the Iraqi Army, but bipassed it and went straight into the Bush Family & Friend’s coffers! Spit.

(Please don’t try to convince me that ole Georgie and his Friends would never do that. It won’t work. Trust me)

Here’s what I think needs to be done to stimulate the economy:

  • Tax the corporations and the top 5% of the wealthy in the country NOW
  • Impeach Dick Cheney & George Bush NOW
  • Stop sending jobs overseas and create REAL good paying jobs here in America NOW
  • Tax the oil companies & tap into the nation’s oil reserves (instead of charging the American people to keep filling them) NOW
  • End the illegal occupation of Iraq, bring the troops home, get Osama dead or alive, and also cut off the funding for the private contractors (tell them to pay for their own flights home too!) NOW

What do you think would stimulate the economy right now? A Dick Cheney waterboarding? Yeah. That might work too.

Kay, please copy Plato’s comment over at ABlog about only the insane would cage a squirrel. LMAO M

Oops… forgot to add, make sure Queen Karol has a chance to see it!!!!!!!

  • grantinhouston

Now that he needs some support, it’s so hypocritical to see Dubya now “playing nice” all of a sudden towards Democrats in Congress because he needs ANOTHER bail-out.. Somebody has bailed him out his whole miserable life.

  • Ox

Omg, did someone say that UFL about someone who is insane caging a squirrel. Today, a few people were trolling Mirth about catching and cooking squirrel meat.

  • grantinhouston

Interesting that three times in his business career, friends and investors of George W. Bush have bailed him out to keep his businesses from going bankrupt. However, in 1988, the same year his father became president, some Saudis, notably Salem bin Laden (yes THAT bin Laden family) and Khalid bin Mahfouz (brother-in-law of Osama who owned 20% of BCCI Bank) buy a portion of Dubya’s small company, Harken Energy, which had never performed work outside of Texas. Later in the year, Harken wins a contract in the Persian Gulf and starts doing well financially.

Come to think of it….with WHOM did Bush spend most of his time with on his Middle East “peace” trip???….the Saudi princes and UAE sheiks.

No wonder Dubya was about to “lip-lock” with King Abdullah last week!

Yep Ox, the commentator known as Plato made that comment, Kay did ask if a Native American would do such a thing…LMAO! Well if someone was trolling mirth they are as good as gone. It’s funny it seems like those two only show up when other club members are around just in case they need to be defended for their phoniness.

We interrupt this blog for a message from The Government

Hello WNI’ers. We’re your elected leaders, The Government of the United States. The ones with the little flag pins. And we feel your pain.

We understand people are upset by crashing house and stock prices.

We understand people are upset that the dollar is being destroyed and inflation is roaring.

We understand that people are upset that we’ve lost our manufacturing base.

We understand that people are upset that we’re not prosecuting the mortgage fraudsters and insider-trading CEOs.

So we’re going to do something about it.

Your $500 check will be in the mail soon.

    So shut the f*ck up.

    Sincerely,

    The Government.

I got an IRS filing extension a few years ago when Bush supposedly gave us a “rebate” of a few hundred dollars. I guess because I didn’t file “on-time” I therefore never got my $300. I didn’t even miss it!

  • end the iraq war and the economy improves dramatically. and i think once bush/cheney/the rest leave office, things will get A LOT better.

From Unruly Knobs: More of Queen Karol. She always has to one up others and/or just say something, anything to direct the conversation to her. Oh and she has an itch…(I bet she does)

Unconventional Conventionist I just bought a flatbed scanner that has Digital ICE. I got it for $174 on sale at Staples. I think it is usually $250. I have scanned about 800 slides so far.

Maybe the poor little rich girl can buy a new car and drive to all of the protests in style?

It’s not just the stock market that is plummeting — it’s the Bushies themselves! Oh, happy day! HERE’S the latest:

Sean O’Keefe, FORMER Chancellor of Louisiana State University, is the bastard who brought Dick Cheney to our campus in 2005 to speak at commencement. (Many of the graduating students wore hunter orange vests over their gowns — no, shit. It was funny.) O’Keefe is a consumate Bushie. He worked in the Bush administration prior to becoming LSU Chancellor.

    Well…
…he’s gone. Two years before his contract runs out:

This is just so great! I’m so happy! Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy,
    and happy.

Don’t know if anyone else noticed yet but Keith Olbermann posted a couple of articles on DKos. I hope he’ll post regularly:

To UFL: People are beginning to see through the BS of the unrulysnobs. They don’t get as many pats-on-the-back as they used to at ABlog. People are coming back for the election cycle and it’s a bloody relief to see the U.R.S. opinions getting drowned out and hardly noticed.

  • Good morning! Well, I had a few minutes of “fun” over on Ablog and then my son said, “Mom, can I check my emails?”, so I laid down on the couch to let him do that and ended up falling asleep. Dammit. I did manage to publish this post, so I guess all was not lost.

Uncle, I thought Plato’s comment was hysterical and I did wonder if that is what Native Americans do. LOL

Grant, that’s bothering me too. Why the hell should the Congress bail him out this time? What the hell has he done for the Congress lately? Nothing but blaming them for everything! Bastard. Hell, most days he doesn’t even recognize the Congress as having way more power than he.

Good morning Ox! Yes, Karol now has the reputation of an animal abuser. LOL

Exactly Chris. Stopping the war and ripping the checks out of the American contractor’s hands would definitely help our country financially and would DEFINITELY help with our confidence as a nation! Right now? Everyone is pissed except for the few jackboot licking Bush supporters who remain!

I love when Gage is happy! Wow, another crony has bit the dust, huh? Poor Bush Regime. Everyone is bailing because everyone is corrupt. Pigs.

Randy, I didn’t know ole Keithy was posting over there! After I post this comment, I’m going to check it out.

    Check this out:

Gage, it must be nice to be a Loyal Bushie and have LSU pay you, $425,000 salary, to lie to students.

  • billjonke

Bush is starting to look a little bit tattered around the edges lately, not that I look at him that much.

As fa as I’m concerned, he can stay out there in Saudi Arabia and run around all over the place in his pajamas, ala Vietnam, all he damned pleases. Laura will have a bumper crop of opium she can get her hands on as well.

Wonder how many protests there’ll be when the bush twin-is it Janna, or is it the other one-gets married. Will it be held at a halfway house?

  • Oh poor Chrissy Tweety Head! He had to apologize! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  • Hi Bill. Well, Jenna Bush will not be getting married in Kennebunkport, Maine (huh….she must know we’d protest her LOL), so she’s getting married on her Daddy’s fake ranch in Texas instead. Good! Bunch of fakes should get married on a fake ranch!

  • gage

No, no, Kay. O’Keefe is not bailing. He got FIRED! They’re just letting him resign as a professional courtesy. Make no mistake. the universities are ALL going to be purging the Bushies very soon.

    Happy, happy, happy…

  • gage

Kay!!!!! I just saw your comments over at Sancho Press. That was so nice of you. I just love you, Kay. You’re good people.

    Up the Revolution!

  • billjonke

    Hi Kay,

Maybe they’ll feature plastic turkeys as the main course at the reception too. I would guess that Nancy Pelosi has been handpicked as the Matron of Honor.

  • You’re welcome, Gage! You and Kathie are good people and are an asset to our soldiers, veterans, and the voice of the people. :-)

  • Gage, I just assumed O’Keefe had bailed since that’s the path the reich wingers usually take. I hadn’t read the article yet when I wrote that.

  • when george bush talks, america (and the world) weeps.
