Did you know that America’s prisoners in GITMO have never had it so good!?! I didn’t until I listened to WGAN’s Morning Show with Mike Violette. He’s good!

Oh yes. Mike Violette of WGAN Morning Show radio fame here in Portland, Maine now believes that America’s prison down in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba should be America’s next vacation destination after talking with Jeff McClausland of CBS this past week. Yes, that’s right! He thinks the prisoners in America’s custody down there have never had it so good and he thinks they’re treated better than prisoners here in America!

What you don’t hear on this audio is the conversation that took place afterwards. Mike Violette says in effect that because there are diabetic doctors & cardiologists being sent down to GITMO to tend to the prisoners, that means all is well down there. America’s prisoners are being treated well! Spit.

My first thought when I heard there was doctors specializing in diabetes going down there to treat prisoners is….what has their diet been for the past five years for these prisoners to now need a diabetes doctor? Has it been mainly made up of sugar? And wouldn’t it make sense that if we’ve been feeding these prisoners a diet consisting mainly of sugar that they would also need a cardiologist because this diet has weakened their hearts from malnutrition? Hey, it makes sense to me, but it wasn’t something ole reich winger Mike Violette thought of! Mike is under the impression that these doctors are there to visit these prisoners, because they’re so healthy and don’t really need specialized care, and these doctors just want to go down there because the weather down there in Cuba is fantastic!

Did you know that…that America’s doctors are being called in to come to GITMO because everything is fine down there and their specialized care isn’t needed? Me neither! Thanks Mike for pointing this out to your listeners.

And another thing….Mike Violette did not point out that these prisoners have been in our custody for close to five years and most of them do not know the charges against them! So long to Habeas corpus…nice knowing ya…we are no better than the terrorists now! Hey, if they truly were enemy combatants (a term that ole George Bush can give to anyone he wants to….to avoid the responsibility and accountability when torture is used against those in our custody. Oh, it’s a fun term of ole Georgie! This explains why ole Georgie took America’s signature off the International Criminal Court back in early 2001. He knew what fun he was going to have in the future!). Apparently, being held in captivity outside the United States where laws don’t apply and not knowing the reason why you’re being held by Americans is WAY BETTER than what our prisoners here on America soil have to endure! Did you know that? To the reich wingers, this is the key to this fantastic vacation destination called……..GITMO!

“Everyone should be held forevah without knowing the charges against them”, squeal the reich wingers of America’s Taliban! So, if one of our soldiers or if an American overseas somewhere is taken into custody and held indefinitely and their captors don’t tell them why they’ve been detained, Mike Violette and others like him believe this is how ALL prisoners should be treated all over the planet. Yes, not knowing the charges against you, being fed Snickers bars for five years straight, and being tortured in buildings on the premises that the media is not allowed in to see what is going on means inside…means…that YOU ARE GETTING THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE ON THE PLANET AND YOU SHOULD FEEL LUCKY TO BE THERE!

“We are better than the terrorists we have in our custody!”, exclaim the reich wingers like Mike Violette. Oh really? I’m tired of hearing that and not seeing an ounce of evidence to support it!
