QUOTE OF THE DAY:

<br />

GLENN BECK AT CPAC 2010: ‘Hello, my name is the Republican Party, and I’ve got a problem. I’m addicted to spending and big government…I’m addicted to spending and I just don’t want to spend today.’ (CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO QUOTE)

"If by a “Liberal” they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people — their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties — someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a “Liberal,” then I’m proud to say I’m a “Liberal.” ~ John F. Kennedy, 1960

Maine metal band…

Just a mini-break from smacking the reich wing trolls around the room, out the front door, down the driveway, and up the street…

My son and I were talking earlier tonight about how his friend Dalton’s dad used to be in a band here in the Portland area. He told me that one of their videos is on YouTube and it’s unbelievable. Dalton’s father is not in the band in this video, but he is the one who wrote this song.

Here is…6 Gig singing Hit the Ground:

Fantastic!

I asked my son why Dalton’s father is no longer in the band and he said he didn’t know and hadn’t asked Dalton about it. I wonder if it’s because the drummer committed suicide and the band broke up? Could be. A few of the commenters mentioned that this might be the case.

Enjoy!

  • This song does play here locally on WCYY. I’m curious if any of my readers have heard it playing on their local alternative rock/metal stations, because I’m wondering if they went beyond New England (usually good bands like this will travel New England and will go as far as New Jersey to play) on the radio stations across the country.

Sorry for the interuption but Kay I can’t help myself and feel I need to show you this little gem from last night.

Four years ago Walmart was taking the Dixie Chicks music off its shelves and we didn’t protest. Today the Democrats are laying down for the Republicans, and we aren’t protesting. What’s it going to take?

Oh boy now coming from you that is extremely funny! I suppose it will take the rest of us to protest.

Kay, I don’t think I’ve heard the song before but I don’t listen to radio as much as I used to. This is a large college town I live near and there’s a few alternative/metal stations in the area that are probably playing 6gig and I just don’t know it.

Thanks for the troll-free post by the way. They’re probably too busy listening to LeAnn Rimes rendition of Debbie Boone’s “You Light Up My Life” as they worship on their knees in front of their Bush/Cheney blowup doll shrine to bother us on a metal post.

  • LMAO Uncle! She does say that she’s doing a lot, doesn’t she?

By the way, I don’t see ALL the democrats laying down for the republicans. Only a handful, but you’d think they were reading the comments by her and others over there! Wow! Jees. It’s so frustrating.

Randy, I love this: “They’re probably too busy listening to LeAnn Rimes rendition of Debbie Boone’s “You Light Up My Life” as they worship on their knees in front of their Bush/Cheney blowup doll shrine to bother us on a metal post.”. OMG! Hysterical!!! And so true. They’re still crying their eyes out on the Paul Tibbetts post I did. Calling me vile names is their only defense at this point!

Shumer in nyt this AM. If this is his real reason for supporting the muckster I will puke. The dems have folded nd thats the fact! I wish that you point re a “handful” was on target but ya know- Itsmore than a handful. There is simply no leadership. When feingold holds back util he had cover shows how weak the “good guys” are. They just don’t look at the big picture. There is no willingness to confront the goopers. They just don’t seem to get the simple fact that us folks simply want the lying to stop! When more than 70 senators vote for the liebershit-kyle submission, that was more tan a handful. When they defected from the chance to stop the mukasey nomination from getting to the floor, they showed the lack of leadership that is needed to stop the madman from his insane march to dictatorship. That ain’t a handful Kay- that is capitulation!

  • Two handfuls? LOL Not every democrat is jumping on the “I hate America and love warmongering!” bandwagon with the republicans. There are a handful at the top that consistently do. I think it’s dangerous to put a blanket statement over the whole party, when really, it’s a few who are fucking everything up.

Believe me! I am disappointed and stunned at times, but that is not going to stop me from plugging forward, OM! :-)

Randy, I love this: “They’re probably too busy…

LOL It was a bit wordy but I think I got my point across.

You know they’ll never admit they have Bush/Cheney shrines, just like Jim Vandehei (formerly of WaPo) would never confirm that he and his wife had a Tom Delay shrine in their home.

(I probably should’ve mentioned their love of Donnie and Marie oldies but goldies but that would’ve belabored the point.)

  • Randy

    OH SHIT!

Now I’ve got that “she’s a little bit country I’m a little bit rock ‘n roll” tune in my head. *PUKE*

Thank you Republicans and Mittster! Damn you all to hell!!

  • Damn you pathetic republicans! Yuck! LOL

I bet all the republicans have a card in their pocket with two lightning bolts on it. Hey! They’re Good Germans, if ya know what I mean!

Okay, going to work. Have a great day Randy and others! :-)

George Osmond, 90, just died unexpectedly, apparently of natural causes, in Salt Lake City. The father of the 9 musical Osmonds had been in good health for his age. Wonder if the trooper Marie will appear on tonight’s Dancing With The Stars? Actress Jane Seymour lost her mother a few weeks ago and she kept on performing, dedicating her dancing now to her late mother.

KKKay is your son’s father in a band, too? Does your son know who his father is? Did his dad walk upright, or all four dragging his knuckles?

  • My son’s father is a typical reich winger who is not involved in his life, as well as, his four other children’s lives. He’s an alcoholic and I could care less if he rots and staggers into traffic. Get it?

I’ve raised my son by myself. I’ve not allowed any man, besides my father, my brother, and a few close male friends who I’ve known for years, be in his life. Why? To protect him.

And you? Sleep with your daughter nightly, Hardyharhar? I bet! I bet she’s currently pregnant too. Spit. You’re gross, sick, and should be in prison.

“I’ve not allowed any man, besides my father, my brother, and a few close male friends who I’ve known for years, be in his life. Why? To protect him.”

Well that technique to raising kids can only backfire as he ages.
