Here’s what I mean…
As California was burning this past week, FEMA decides to do a “press conference” for the masses to give us all an update on what they’re doing. Did real reporters come to this “press conference”? Oh hell no! Nope. FEMA decided to use their white noise of propaganda (to make themselves feel better of course, because they failed miserably after Katrina!) by having THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES to be the ones to actually sit in the room to ask the “tough” questions of their own agency, while at the same time, they told the REAL media fifteen minutes before show-time that they could ask some questions, but none of them showed up, because there wasn’t enough time to get there, because it was a last minute “press conference”.
So….here’s where it gets good….
…FEMA “allows” the REAL reporters to call in to ask their questions instead. Well, guess what happens? They are not allowed to ask a question and can only LISTEN to this “press conference” instead. That’s exactly what Sen. Susan Collins is doing within her own re-election campaign!
I’m serious. Sen. Susan Collins is using her own form of white noise to fake out her constituents by making fake “live calls” to her people just like FEMA is and isn’t allowing her constituents to ask a REAL question, but rather, is allowing them to stay on the line, so they can hear what her views are! Yep! It’s a Sen. Susan Collins infomercial to fake out the masses! Here’s how I know this….
A few months ago I received one of these calls from her campaign. A young recorded male voice said to me after I picked up the phone that Sen. Susan Collins is taking live questions from her constituents and if I would like to ask her a question, I had to stay on the line to do so. I stayed on the line for a few minutes, but then hung up. After I hung up, I said, “Shit!” and decided to call back the number. Well, the number went to a Washington, DC phone number to a guy by the name of “Robert” or “Roger” and it was obvious to me that I was calling a cell phone number, because of the machine message. Listening to his message, I got a weird feeling that something wasn’t right about these “live calls”.
So, fast forward to a conversation on Turn Maine Blue in the comment section of one of the posts there (can’t find the actual post where this conversation took place, so trust me on this)…
…and I find Mainers talking about these very “calls”! I decide to call Sen. Susan Collins’ office directly here in Maine to find out what is going on with these “calls”. I ask one of Collins’ interns if these calls are made live and she says they are. I tell her that many Mainers have received these calls, but after being on the line for 20-45 minutes, they’re not able to ask a question of Collins and all the questions that are being asked are softball questions. She had no comment. I then ask Collins’ intern if Collins is advertising when these calls are going to be made, if there is a number that Mainers could call in case they don’t receive a call, but want to ask her a question anyways. She said Collins’ doesn’t advertise when these calls are going to be made. I said to this young intern that there was something very fishy about these “live calls” and many Mainers who have received them are now thinking that Collins’ is faking us out and is actually using propaganda against us. Again, no comment.
I wished I could find the post over on Turn Maine Blue (and DailyKos too) about these calls, because after further investigation on them, it was found that “Robert” or “Roger” was connected to a reich wing advertising company in DC! Yep.
Oh the white noise of reich wing propaganda. I’m tired of it!
I wonder if Sen. Susan Collins and FEMA are using the same reich wing DC advertising company to spew their propaganda or are getting their ideas in faking out the masses from each other to make themselves feel better about their own incompetencies and failures? I think so!

Yikes. It’s so frightening the amount of ghoulish, blood sucking, republican GOP Senators we have in our midst this year! Wowzer. I’ll be keeping my son inside the house this year to protect him from these Evil Doers. How about you? Cast your vote please! Maybe, just maybe, your vote will help to rid our nation of them!

There is something about the Red Sox that makes people like myself here in New England go crazy with the feeling of patriotism (…and I am not a sports fan)! Not sure what it is either. Is it the city of Boston itself and it’s rich history? Is it the great Italians and Irishmen of this great city? Is it because we affectionately call it “Bean Town” or maybe we remember the great patriots of the Boston Tea Party? Or maybe it was Paul Revere’s attitude that started this deep ingrained feeling of patriotism when he warned, “The Red Coats are coming!”, ’cause they were gonna kick some ass! Or maybe….just maybe…it’s the spirit of Babe Ruth coming alive every time today’s Red Sox do well? I don’t know what it is, but having grown up in Maine my whole 39 years and having been around true Red Sox fans from Maine and all over New England along with tons of REAL patriots who care about this country and who will ban together in a second to help each other out, I know one thing is for sure….WE PATRIOTS OF THE NORTH WILL ALWAYS BAN TOGETHER whenever we’re needed. Go Red Sox! Woohoo!
Guaranteed tonight, my friend Paul’s very Italian, 5′0″, 78 year old mother with the biggest nose I’ve seen in my life will be watching the Sox tonight and she’ll be chain smoking and wearing her favorite Red Sox hat that is now faded and is her good luck charm! She is my favorite Red Sox fan. Believe me, my Uncle Sam is a close 2nd, but she? OMG! She is hysterical. I don’t think Ms. Lena Donata St. Angelo has missed a game in the last 60 or so years. Even during the years they never made it to the World Series, she didn’t care. She continued to watch and continued to be their biggest fan. “It’s in her blood…”, they say up here. If you met her, you’d understand this. She literally lives and breathes the Red Sox through each and every game (how many is that in a season? Over 160? Holy crap!). The Red Sox losing a game will prompt her to say, “They’ll win the next one”, with a twinkle in her eye. She’s a true patriotic Red Sox fan.
(THIS GUY HATES RED SOX FANS. Huh. Well, being a New Englander and hearing this, I say…..”Screw off asshole!” LOL Hey, that’s how we are up here. If you hate us….that gives us fuel and/or nourishment! Not sure why, but that’s how we are up here! LOL)
A true patriot never gives up. Oh yes, they may take a break for 86 years, but hey! At least they finally won the World Series and at least Ms. Lena was alive to see it for crying out loud! “It was worth the wait…”, Lena would tell you for sure.

What should be simple has become a “nightmare”.
This past summer I did two things before I got real busy with buying my new home: I purchased my domain and then purchased a blog hosting company for my blog, so I could put advertisements and fundraising boxes on it (Wordpress.com does not allow this code onto any of the blogs unless the blog is hosted, but Wordpress.org does). Well, sounds simple enough, but what is happening is all files from April 2007 to the post below about Sen. Suzie-Q and her dumbass blogger, will not transfer to the new host. All other posts will, but for some reason these ones won’t! As you can see, all of those posts from that time period are here, but when I use the import/export function, I get an error message saying the “file is empty”, when it’s clearly not. When I was working off the new host, all files from my old WNI Wordpress.com blog were not available online for viewing.
The “best” part of all this? When friends online like Mainefem or NYTexan (thank you both so much!) would send me links to directions to help me out or if Wordpress and my host company did, I still couldn’t figure it out! It sucks not being computer savvy. It’s very frustrating to say the least.
Not sure what I’m going to do from this point forward. I do know my new home and personal life needs some much needed attention right now. The holiday season is coming up and I know I so badly want to enjoy it, and to do that, I’m feeling the need to take a break from political blogging for awhile, so I can enjoy it all! I’ll still be attending democratic functions here in my state (some are planned for November, such as a Virtual Fundraiser for future US Senator Tom Allen, and the democrats in my county are having a “sketti” (spaghetti) dinner too) and will probably come online to share it with all of you, but the day to day grind stuff, I’m going to stop until I feel rested enough to pick it up again. I still have lots of painting to do inside my home and want it to be “perfect” for when we put our tree up, so I need to get crackin’.
Next year is going to be one hell of an election year and if I’m feeling then the way I’m feeling now, I’m going to be useless! That said…I will be lurking from time to time on my favorite blogs to read what the democrats are doing and saying. Right now I feel such a disconnect from the “progressives” online. The constant banter of “impeachment” and the negativity is really pissing me off. Who the hell wants to be part of a team where a section of it is off in the corner crying and sulking about shit that ain’t gonna happen! It’s such a downer. Jane Hamsher of FireDogLake did a wonderful piece recently that tackled this very issue. Democrats need to start forming their strong voice TOGETHER again and focus on going forward to kick the republicans out of office next year, who are blocking and protecting the current crop of criminals in the White House and who think the US Constitution is nothing but a gawddamn piece of paper (like Sen. Susan Collins does!)! We know what crimes and atrocities were committed by the Band of Thugs in the White House. We don’t need a prison sentence to justify what we already know. Okay?
I want to recommend this book for everyone to read while I’m taking a break: Framing the Debate by Jeffrey Feldman. We need to be the ones who are framing the debate right now…..and not the republicans! Americans are sick of the voice of the republicans. We will not be able to frame the debate if we are stuck on crap that is fruitless and not progressive. The End.
