Well, they ain’t gonna get it.

(photo of Michael Hein found on the CCL’s website)
A couple nights ago I got an email from Michael Hein from the Maine Christian Civic League (CCL) who provided me with a link to a post he had done. I clicked on it and found that the CCL reporter had been removed from the Maine Pagan Pride Day parade and ole Michael apparently wants me to feel bad for “his Christians” who were treated so ‘awfully’ by those “Satan worshipers”. *rolling eyes*
Here’s my email response to him:
Personally, I think the Christian Civic League should be thrown out of the state because I think you guys are evil. You spread hate about other’s beliefs and you sure as hell act like yours is the only belief that matters. It’s attitudes like yours that has hurt Christianity and has divided this once great nation of ours. I think what you and your ilk did to Rita Moran was disgusting, childish, and against the teachings of Jesus Christ. You guys basically suck and like I said….you should all be thrown out of the state and not just out of a parade!
>
How do you like that?

Kay
Why I am not feeling bad for ole Michael and the rest of the crew over at the CCL is because a few months ago, this group decided to go after Rita Moran, who is the Chair of the Kennebec County Democrats, because she is a practicing Pagan. Not only did they ‘expose’ this (most knew that she was a Pagan and to the democrats around her it was no big deal…it was CCL that made it seem like she had something to hide) about her, but they decided to post every single solitary way to get ahold of her, meaning, they posted her home phone number and her address, as well as, her email addresses etc. at work and whatnot. Apparently, this is what “good” Christians do to those who aren’t walking around with a Christian bible stuck to their faces!
The jerks are still going after her too: (CLICK HERE)
Feel free to give $5 to the Kennebec County Democrats…..(HERE).
Michael & Rita both have a right to practice their own spiritual & religious beliefs, but it is not okay for Michael and his ilk to go after other religious persons, just because they’re not practicing their brand of Christianity! I like the idea of changing the 1st Amendment to read: FREEDOM FROM RELIGION. I think our nation should safely assume that a good portion of our country is religious and/or spiritual and the law should be used to protect those of us who don’t want to participate in any of it!
Michael Hein and his CCL do not have my sympathy, because you know damn well, if it was a Christian Pride Day 2007 parade that was going on and a Pagan reporter showed up to report on it, ole Michael and others would have done the same thing! They would have gone after the “Satan worshiper” who dared take their wicked pictures!
It’s the hypocrisy I can’t stand. In fact, I’m tired of anything Christian at this point. Christianity has become a cult of hateful hypocritical swines, because of people like Michael Hein, and it’s too bad, but then again, they’ve reaped what they’ve sewn. If you’re a Christian and you wonder why you can’t say it loudly and proudly today, you can thank people like Michael Hein for ruining it for you. Sorry. Deal with it.

how is it possible that you, a proclaimed liberal, can’t find it in your heart to appologise to the CCL? Shame on you! These are the folks thaat are supporting such activities such as stating that if you aren’t christian, you can’t get into heaven. That if you aren’t christian, you arten’t a true american. and if you aren’t christian you don’t believe that a woman has the right to determine what happens to her body. That if you aren’t christian, you don’t believe that dinosaurs and folks lived harmoniously together!
Oh for gods sake Old Girl- screw them.
Why not post their phone numbers, addresses, and other facts that will cause them a little good old christian eye for an eye feeling.
*smacking my forehead* You’re right Bill! What the hell was I thinking???? We need these Christian screwballs to keep America going in the reich direction! *rolling eyes*
*smashing CCL’s logo*
Thank you for bringing that to my attention, Bill.

Huzzah!! Its great to see that other folks out in the blogosphere recognize that christian extremists and zealots are a problem. If these whackos would actually practice a fraction of what their bible says, they would be much more decent people. Instead, they somehow think that they ahve a right to force their faith on others. In my book, they’re not a whole lot better than al quaida. A quick loko through history will find that the radical christians have used many of hte same methods – bombings, murder, and violoence – to attempt to silence views that they don’t approve of (recent examples include family planning clinic bombings and murders, killing of gays, etc).
Not that I’m a normal contributor here, but as one of the “exposed” Kennebec County Pagans in question, I wrote a nice little piece for my home blog, (hope I did that link right, I suck at HTML).
Far as I’m concerned, these people are domestic terrorists.
Thanks for the donation link, Kay.
And yay, I did the link wrong. You want to go to kennebecdems.blogspot.com if you want to read the piece… I hate HTML. Preview button, anyone?
What Hein & Heath want:
traffic driven to their putrid portal; & MONEY, folks.
Pls. don’t drive traffic (or attention) to them….
Notice the large donation button @the top of their pages?
Pls. learn from history.
I’ll take *remorse* for $5,000, Alex.
“Christian league leader apologizes for Web notice”
AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — The leader of the Christian Civic League of Maine apologized for a Web site item asking supporters for information about the sexual orientation of legislators and other political leaders.
Executive Director Michael Heath’s apology was issued amid sharply worded condemnations Wednesday for his action by Gov. John Baldacci, who called it “an offense of the highest order,” and legislative leaders from both parties.
Heath said the Web item had been removed, he was no longer seeking such information on lawmakers and offered “an unqualified apology” while accepting full responsibility for his actions.”

Slow learners, those misogynistic and homophobic nutjob fundy Baptists, eh?
(Desperate for $$$ to stay afloat, is more like it).
never heard of the christian civic league, hope i never hear about them again. lol
The CCL sums up just about every reason why I am an atheist. As for Michhel Hein & Co, it’s like my grandma always said “You can’t show and ass**** what an ass**** looks like, because that’s why they’re an ass**** in the first place”.
Kat, I’m an Atheist too for the same reason you are.
By the way, I love your grandma!!! My grandmother had the same kind of attitude when it came to the reich wingers and the imbeciles of our country.
Chris, all you need to know is the CCL is a cult of hatemongers. The End.
Thank you Mainefem for the links…I think. LOL
Gregoutwest,
you’re funny.
