How’s the mental health of our soldiers going?

Apparently, not good. If our soldiers had better leadership starting with the “Commander Guy” at the top and trickling down, I think our soldiers would be much better off. The neocons like to blame the liberals and our pro-peace/anti-war stance as hurting the moral of our soldiers, but after reading this article over at Capitol Hill Blue it’s very apparent to me that our soldiers are completely stressed out and they have no one on their side helping them get through it!

“They looked under every rock, and what they found was not always easy to look at,” said Ward Casscells, assistant secretary of defense for health.

Findings included:

>
* Sixty-two percent of soldiers and 66 percent of Marines said that they knew someone seriously injured or killed, or that a member of their team had become a casualty.
* The 2006 adjusted rate of suicides per 100,000 soldiers was 17.3 soldiers, lower than the 19.9 rate reported in 2005.
* Only 47 percent of the soldiers and 38 percent of Marines said noncombatants should be treated with dignity and respect.
* About a third of troops said they had insulted or cursed at civilians in their presence.
* About 10 percent of soldiers and Marines reported mistreating civilians or damaging property when it was not necessary. Mistreatment includes hitting or kicking a civilian.
* Forty-four percent of Marines and 41 percent of soldiers said torture should be allowed to save the life of a soldier or Marine.
* Thirty-nine percent of Marines and 36 percent of soldiers said torture should be allowed to gather important information from insurgents.

What’s worse is some of the actions of these soldiers because of their stress is causing the Iraqis to hate us even more! I mean really, if you saw your father being kicked or beaten by the occupiers in your country…guaranteed you’re not going to be praising them at all!

George Bush and his band of warmongering thieves don’t think about the consequences in any of this. Of course they don’t. They’re in Iraq to pilfer America’s money, Iraq’s oil and nothing else. To them, everyone can pound sand.

Spit.

It’s your mental health that’s in question. Or lack of it.

Say, Kay, did you notice the other night that “he, of the teeeeeny weenie” now claims to be drilling an oil well? Gotta give him credit. He does have a very vivid imagination.

Now, isn’t that special? Cobraguy talking to the Maineiac! She can’t get any traffic on her own blog, so she comes here to get rubbed up. Now we know why they make “10 foot poles”.

Your point asswipe? Where’s your blog? Oh that’s right. You go around the Internet harrassing women bloggers hoping that we’ll back down. Guess what? Wrong!!!!

Keep posting because you’re showing my readers how the Bush supporters really are: SCARED SHITLESS OF WOMEN!

You fear Hillary, don’t you? I bet you do.

It makes me so sad. These men and women come home and then Veterans services are limited or underfunded. It’s immoral.

Pretty crappy. But then the commander guy just vetoed funds for them because he’s a jerk

Maybe this is why Bush doesn’t want the troops to come home? He knows a good portion of them are mentally beyond repair! Sick. Our troops need to come home so their state’s can take care of them because we know Bush’s Feds won’t.

  7. Christopher says:

Bush deals with his mental illness by doing coke and drinking booze.

This helped me out of those DARK PLACES.
