Rick Santorum is coming to Maine…

Posted on | April 26, 2007 | 12 Comments

Rick Santorum is scheduled today to speak to the young republicans at Colby College. Hmmmmm….I’m wondering if Rick & Sen. Susan Collins will be meeting up if time permits for them, because after some research on these two I found that they’re two peas-in-a-pod on many important issues of our times and Susan had helped Santorum run for his senate seat back in November 2006. Why does Susan Collins support a guy who is stuck in a 1970’s time-warp?

Why would she support Rick Santorum of all people? He’s a wacko when it comes to women’s productive rights, meaning, he doesn’t like that we women have them! The two of them both voted to confirm Samuel Alito and John Roberts to the US Supreme Court and Susan knew full well that both of these new reich wing judges did not agree with the Roe v. Wade decision.

Rick Santorum doesn’t even like the idea of birth control and Susan supports him? She calls herself a moderate and she says she’s pro-choice, but yet, she supports a guy who thinks birth control is dangerous and not good for our society?

Here’s what Susan Collins said of Rick before the 2006 mid-term election:

“The caricature that is so often drawn of him as being an extremist is not the senator that I see,” Sen. Susan Collins, of Maine, said at a morning news conference.
>
“None of us agree with Rick Santorum on every issue. I am pro-choice,” Collins said. “(But) Rick is someone who works well with senators of all ideologies.”

Scary! Oh and it doesn’t stop with women’s reproduction either. Both of them were and are big supporters of Bush’s war policies too, so it’s funny that Susan Collins keeps touting that she’s a moderate, but when she continues to support the people who are against a woman’s right to choose but are pro-war that doesn’t make one a moderate at all.

If you can stomach it, CLICK HERE, to read more vile quotes by Rick Santorum that Susan Collins defends and supports. I need to scrub my body now with beach sand to get their scourge off me!

Rock on Kay! Made it onto AmericaBlog with that one. The more we make her associations with crazy right-wingers (like Senator Man-on-Dog) known, the better we’ll do against her. Moderate? HA!

This is a better association to pursue than Lieberman or McCain, who at least at one time might have been considered reasonable people. I also note that Rick’s rapid-fire, bobble-head delivery is a perfect complement to the Susan’s flat, drawling, whiny, wooden speech. A match made in heaven! (Santorum’s version, not mine).

As a kid I lived at a place called the Opportunity Farm. She’s done a lot of good for that place and for Maine, imho, so I’m not going to bash her.

Nevertheless, I must admit the best thing to happen to pennsyltucky in the past 50 years (not that I’ve lived that long yet) is the defeat of dickless santorum in last fall’s elections. I am proud to state that I worked many hours on behalf of Bob Casey to get saint rick the hell out of pennsyltucky. Not that he’s lived here for years.

Wow Sauerkraut, I don’t live too far from Opportunity Farm. I agree…it’s a wonderful place and has helped a lot of boys over the years.

And….awesome that you were one who kicked Santorum’s butt to the curb! He’s a wacko. How he lasted that long as a Senator is beyond me, but then again, Maine keeps voting in Susan Collins and that must stop!
