What does the president of this nation hate so much that he would be willing to veto a Homeland Security bill? Unions.
President Bush and his Senate allies will kill a Sept. 11 anti-terror bill if Congress sends it to the White House with a provision to let airport screeners unionize, the White House and 36 Republicans said Tuesday.
“As the legislation currently stands, the president’s senior advisers would recommend that he veto the bill,” said White House spokesman Scott Stanzel.
Senate Republicans swiftly backed up the threat with a pledge by more than enough senators to block any veto override attempt.
“If the final bill contains such a provision, forcing you to veto it, we pledge to sustain your veto,” they wrote to the president. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., planned to offer an amendment to strip the provision from the bill.
Yep, you read it correctly. They’re reasoning for this?…
Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said that allowing screeners to unionize would impede the department’s quick response to possible threats. Fast redeployment of screeners, such as in response to Hurricane Rita and the failed London plot to blow up airliners, cannot wait for negotiations, he said.
Chertoff said screeners are as much on the front lines in the war against terror as military troops.
“Marines don’t collectively bargain over whether they’re going to wind up, you know, being deployed in Anbar province or in Baghdad,” Chertoff told reporters after a briefing with senators. “We can’t negotiate over terms and conditions of work that goes to the heart of our ability to move rapidly in order to deal with the threats that are emerging.”
Other federal employees have collective bargaining and whistle-blower protection rights.
Sorry Chertoff, I’m not buying your argument. You seem to be implying that the airport screeners under a Union would be worse than what we have now. Have you been reading the papers in the last year or so, Mr. Chertoff? It seems to me that these employees do need a Union so their voices can be heard for crying out loud! I think what you and Bush are worried about is the whistleblowers. Well, guess what? It’s the whistleblowers in this country who have kept corporations in line and ethical. Without them, our country is no better than a 3rd world country.
Of course, it’s also about money. The Bush Regime would rather hire illegal aliens to screen our baggage rather than pay legal American citizens a decent wage in such an important job…you know…a job that is for the safety of Americans!

I remember the drum up to the 2006 mid-term election. It was electrifying for sure, because being online and talking with other Americans there was a unity that could not be broken. Americans were outraged about the illegal occupation in Iraq and they were tired of the republican’s corruption in the House & Senate. Those were the two biggest issues Americans were talking about and when it came to the Iraq occupation, overwhelmingly, I was hearing an outcry of ending the illegal occupation and bringing the troops home. The liberal blogs online during these months were also a force in raising money for the democratic candidates who were not getting the necessary funds. The message voters sent in November 2006 was a clear one.
Fast forward to today and we find the democrats not listening to all of us and forgetting what happened three months ago:
WASHINGTON – House Democratic leaders are backing away from a plan to scale back U.S. involvement in the Iraq war by using Congress’ most powerful tool — withholding money in the budget.
Instead, party officials said Tuesday, leaders are weighing a proposal that would attempt to embarrass Bush into abandoning his war strategy. Under a plan discussed behind closed doors, Democrats probably would fund
President Bush’s entire $93.4 billion request for war spending this year but require that any troops sent into battle that don’t meet certain standards receive a presidential waiver and that Congress be notified of the shortcoming.
The compromise is an attempt to please members who want to end the war immediately by cutting funding and others who do not want to appear as though Democrats are turning their back on troops.
“I think it’s a responsible approach,” said Rep. Chet Edwards (news, bio, voting record), D-Texas.
I think the democrats (and the republicans! Hey, I’m not letting them off the hook here! They are telephone poles in my sides believe me!) are in for a rude awakening. I don’t think they really realize how pissed off voters were when they headed to the polls back in November. We, the American Patriots, were clear in our message to them. We said, “We are electing you because we want a new direction in Iraq that results in our troops coming home. We don’t want same old/same old. We are giving you this power today to do what is right for our country, our soldiers, and their families. We want an end to money being sent over to Iraq that goes into the pockets of Bush’s corporate whores and money that does not benefit our soldiers! We want change!”. That’s what we said, but now we have Senator Harry Reid saying he’ll sign onto Bush’s $93 billion war budget. Shameful! Will our troops get the necessary equipment they need? Nope! Just more money laundering by Bush’s corporate whores while “Rome burns”!
Tired of it. I’ll tell you right now the American Patriots of this country aren’t thinking “dems/repubs” when they get on their soapboxes and declare their messages to our government officials. How many faces and penises have to be blown off for anyone in our government to understand how disgusting and hurtful this illegal occupation of a sovereign nation is?!!!
After 9/11/01, myself and others realized that America needs to ALSO take responsibility of our actions too. We can’t be killing innocent people in a nation-building-exercise that is only benefiting the warmongers in the White House. The Iraqis are dying in an illegal occupation. Our nation’s reputation is scared. Our troops have no idea who the enemy is over there and they are considered the enemy of many. We have American corporations and contractors over there billing the American government for services they’ve not done! Our money is being pilfered away like water down a drain, but oh! The democrats along with the republicans don’t want to defund the illegal occupation because it might hurt the troops.
The effing troops have already been hurt and have so since the first boot hit the ground back in March 2003. Now we find out the Bush Regime is funding the terrorists! For the love of the Banana Cupcakes….STOP FUNDING THIS EFFING WAR AND BRING THE EFFING TROOPS HOME.

I don’t think the democrats realize how passionate Americans were when they voted at the end of last year. They need to clean their effing ears out and start listening to us. The following video is flying around the Internet right now. Is it true or not? I’m not sure but since 9/11 many questions have been raised about that day. I was online way before 9/11 talking with other Americans about the Bush Regime, so I remember what was being talked about a couple of months after 9/11. It was around this time that Americans and others across the planet were starting to ask questions about and one of the main ones was about WTC #7. This building which sustained some damage but had no fire was “pulled”, but now with this newest video, it appears SOMEONE had issued a warning that Building #7 was going to collapse and the BBC reported this fact 23 minutes prior to it actually ‘collapsing’.

After watching it, you can remain firm in your belief that WTC #7 collapsed in a heap ‘naturally’, but for those of us who believe that 9/11 was a sham and allowed to happen by our very own government, this video is part of the proof of that.

I saw a nation vote for a man who claimed to be a born-again Christian and watched him destroy much of our American values. The question should be asked whether this man, our President, set up or knew in advance about the 9/11 attacks. Did they somehow send a press release around the world that Building 7 fell on its own accord from the fires and debris falling from the Twin Towers?

You’ll come to your own conclusions about this, but one thing is for sure in my mind, 9/11 was a day that a lot of people in the Bush Regime and their friends needed to use to catapult their nasty, greedy agenda in the Middle East. We’ve been watching it unfold for years now. If you truly want to believe that America’s defense systems was thwarted by a bunch of guys with box cutters without the help of the US government, you can. If you believe the BBC was warned ahead of time by our own government that WTC-7 was going to be pulled (so the current owner could collect billions in insurance money, which was a big pay back for a job well done in allowing the masterminds to use his buildings to help out with the agenda!) and accidentally reported it before it actually happened, you might start asking more questions, which is exactly where I am today.
I don’t believe for a second that 9/11 was a surprise attack. I believe that is why Bush sat there in the classroom. He was letting the fire burn real good so he and the rest of his minions could collect their “insurances”, which was an evil agenda and a greedy one at that. Everyone in the Bush Regime and those associated with them won that day. The American people did not. Now that we know the Bush Regime has been funding al-Qaida through low level terrorist groups, it’s not surprising to me that 9/11 was a big fat sham.
I woke up this morning to my local news here in Maine reporting that there was a direct bombing of Cheney’s American base where he was staying in Afghanistan, two soldiers (one was a coalition soldier) were killed, and Cheney was okay. The right wingers of our nation claim the media is liberal, so you’d think this story would be all over the networks. Nope. Not happening….
Soledad O’Brien and Miles O’Brien of CNN were reporting at the same time I heard the news on my local channel that Al Gore has a 10,000 square foot home and his light bill is $1200/month! Oh, okay, the ‘liberal’ media is focusing on Al Gore’s house but an attempt on Dick Cheney’s life isn’t newsworthy. Now, who would hide this story of an attempt on Dick’s life? Oh that’s right….the ROM (republican owned media), that’s who. They can’t ever put Bush or Cheney in a negative light and how embarrassing for them to have to report the world despises Dick Cheney!
Here’s a very weird series of events:
Dick Cheney visits Prime Minister Howard of Australia a few days ago. Dick Cheney is protested everywhere he goes and there are many arrests. He leaves Australia, but his plane ends up landing in Singapore. PM Howard says Cheney’s plane was diverted there, but Cheney’s spokespeople say the plane had mechanical problems and the stop in Singapore was a planned one (”Quick! Look over there! Isn’t that flower pretty!”, the Orwellian ROM reported). Rumors starting flying around the Internet that an attempt to arrest Dick Cheney failed, but 3 people were killed instead. Then, Dick Cheney goes to Pakistan and then onto Afghanistan and it’s reported this morning that the Army base where Dick Cheney is staying is bombed and it was directed straight at where he was!
(The Taliban is behind the attack, but Dick and George keep saying everything is fine and they’re making the planet safer from terrorism. Remember….Georgie is the ‘peace president’!)
I think it can be safely said that Dick Cheney is not a loved American vice president. One thing I’d love to see? Cheney arrested for war crimes. Americans can’t get close enough to him to do that, so maybe it’s possible for the people of other countries to do it for us. Killing him won’t give Americans or the Iraqis the satisfaction like you might think. We’d rather he be alive and under Oath answering the world’s questions! Much more satisfying, though, knowing Dick Cheney is screaming in terror all the way back to the United States from his trip is kind of nice too….

Yesterday Al Sharpton and the nation learned that one of his ancestors was a slave and owned by a distant cousin of segregationist Strom Thurmond (of course later on in his life it was found that he had fathered a child with a black woman. Wow! A confused segregationist, apparently!). Sharpton stated after learning this, “I couldn’t describe to you the emotions I have had . . . everything from anger to outrage to reflection to some pride and glory”, and I bet he secretly when no one was looking took 300 showers to wipe the filth of the Thurmond connection in his own blood. I know I would have.
The revelation was particularly stunning for the juxtaposition of the two men’s public lives.Sharpton, known for his fiery rhetoric and a tendency to intervene as an advocate in racially charged incidents, ran for president in 2004 on a ticket promoting racial justice. Thurmond made his own bid for the presidency in 1948, promising to preserve racial segregation, and in 1957 he filibustered for more than 24 hours against a civil rights bill.

A relative of Strom Thurmond was asked to comment about this newly discovered genealogical ties to Al Sharpton and she said this:
While some of Thurmond’s relatives contacted by the Daily News expressed skepticism about the report, Doris Strom Costner, a cousin of the late senator, said Sharpton should be proud to know his family’s connection to hers. “He’s in a mighty good family,” she said by telephone from Edgefield, S.C.
Asked how she feels to learn of evidence that her family owned slaves, she said: “I can’t help it. I’m 74 years old, and I certainly can’t help it. I don’t feel one way or the other.” Most white South Carolinians at the time owned slaves, she said.
Slap me before I go insane, please! What is with this woman that she thinks Sharpton should be thrilled with the slave-owning Thurmond connection to him? He should feel grateful now? Incredible how narcissism is passed down through some families! She also didn’t want to say how she feels about her family owning slaves in the past. That right there pretty much tells me that she had no problem with her family owning slaves.
Al Sharpton would like to use this discovery as a way to heal the pain of slavery. I think a good place to start would be for the Thurmond family to be able to say out loud with great confidence and conviction that slavery was a horrible scar on our nation and they should also say they’re glad that it no longer exists. But nope. We get an old lady who can’t say either way how she feels about her family having ties to slave owners. Maybe there are still ‘Masters’ in her family who would kill her if she spoke negatively about slavery? Could be. Sad.
In my opinion, the Thurmond family should be proud to be connected to Al Sharpton and his family and not the other way around. That’s what I think.

A woman suicide bomber killed 41 innocent civilians at a university in Baghdad today and the Iraqi people have had it with us and our promises of a bright future for their country every time a bomb goes off killing those they love:
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) — A female suicide bomber triggered a ball bearing-packed charge Sunday, killing at least 41 people at a mostly Shiite college whose main gate was left littered with blood-soaked student notebooks and papers amid the bodies.
Witnesses said a woman carried out the attack at the business school annex to Mustansiriyah University. Interior Ministry officials said they were still investigating those reports. The school’s main campus was hit by a string of bombings last month that killed 70 people.
The attack came as the powerful Shiite militia leader Muqtada al-Sadr said an ongoing security crackdown in Baghdad was doomed to fail because of U.S. involvement and suggested he was rethinking his cooperation. He bitterly complained that “car bombs continue to explode” in the capital despite the new security push.
Can you imagine if Italy attacked Russia and then Russia decided to attack America in retaliation and then pretty much ignored Italy after doing so? Do you think any of us would sit idly by while the Russians came down our streets in their tanks and accusing us of being this and that while they killed our neighbors? No you wouldn’t! Well, neither are the Iraqis. Not only that, the factions within this country have been allowed to fight amongst each other because the Bush Regime has refused to have a plan to make the peace in Iraq right from the moment the first boot hit the ground. They have not cared that Iraqis are killing other Iraqis. Why? American corporations and contractors are over there and are stealing billions from the American people every single day! Shameful!
The Iraqi people know we are illegally occupying their nation and we wonder why they’re angry:
“Here we are, watching car bombs continue to explode to harvest thousands of innocent lives from our beloved people in the middle of a security plan controlled by an occupier,” said a statement read to hundreds of cheering supporters by an al-Sadr aide in Baghdad.
The cleric was highly critical of the U.S. role and urged leaders to “make your own Iraqi (security) plans.” He said “no security plan will work” with direct U.S. involvement.
They no longer trust us, so why are we still there? If the Brits can pull out of Iraq with relatively calmness, then why can’t our soldiers also redeploy to an outside nation or come home to allow the Iraqis to control their own nation without our involvement?
Here’s what our US Embassador to Iraq had to say about this bombing and the violence in Iraq:
“This cowardly act of violence underscores that the terrorists are the enemies of all Iraqis, regardless of sect,” the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, said in a statement. “They want Iraq to fail. Now is the time for the Iraqis to come together against these terrorists.”
Oh really Zalmay? And just who are you talking about when you say terrorists, huh? You’ve got the Americans who have invaded Iraq and who are occupying it, which is making Iraqis hate us and therefore an enemy to them. You’ve got the Shiites and the Sunnis fighting each other and each of these groups thinks the other is the enemy. You’ve got the Kurds who have remained somewhat neutral in all of it, but they are considered the enemy of many in Iraq! So, Zalmay, military action by us is not making friends over there and there is no way to stop the rest especially when some of our own allies (Saudi Arabia to name one) are providing weapons to the people of Iraq and you’ve got other countries providing weapons for others! Everyone is a terrorist over there Zalmay! It’s all relative.
It’s such a freaking mess over there. None of this wouldn’t be happening if the jackboot clicking fascists in the White House hadn’t brought Iraq into the mess! It’s time to leave Iraq and I don’t care if I’m called a traitor for saying it either. The situation over there cannot be won militarily and it appears that diplomacy isn’t working either. Hell, they don’t even trust our ’security plan’ and from their own observations, I can see why they can’t!
I bet our country would be unified by now if our troops were told to stay in Afghanistan until they got the rat bastard Osama. I bet they would have gotten him too if they didn’t have a bunch of warmongering, greedy Pigs running the show out of the White House and Pentagon too! Hell, no one is even sure if the rat bastard Osama is even alive, though there is talk that he is and is regrouping al-Qaida. Give me real proof of that please!
Like I said, it’s time to leave. America has always been better than what we’ve witnessed in the White House for the past seven years. Americans are not barbarians and it’s time we started acting like that once again.

Okay, it’s bad enough that the Pentagon has been ordered to draw up plans to strike/attack Iran:
Despite the Bush administration’s insistence it has no plans to go to war with Iran, a Pentagon panel has been created to plan a bombing attack that could be implemented within 24 hours of getting the go-ahead from President George W. Bush, The New Yorker magazine reported in its latest issue.
The special planning group was established within the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in recent months, according to an unidentified former U.S. intelligence official cited in the article by investigative reporter Seymour Hersh in the March 4 issue.
The panel initially focused on destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities and on regime change but has more recently been directed to identify targets in Iran that may be involved in supplying or aiding militants in Iraq, according to an Air Force adviser and a Pentagon consultant, who were not identified.
The consultant and a former senior intelligence official both said that U.S. military and special-operations teams had crossed the border from Iraq into Iran in pursuit of Iranian operatives, according to the article.
But, when you read that Israel is providing the US with intelligence about Iran that is still being debated whether it’s factual or not, makes my blood boil even further:
The article, citing unnamed current and former U.S. officials, also said the Bush administration received intelligence from Israel that Iran had developed an intercontinental missile capable of delivering several small warheads that could reach Europe. It added the validity of that intelligence was still being debated.
As Maya Angelou poignantly pointed out at Coretta Scott King’s funeral as she turned around to Bush who was sitting behind her, “I want to see some peace!”. I do too and I don’t like the fact that the Bush Regime and Israel are continuing to fan the flames of chaos, lies, deceits, wars, illegal occupations/attacks/invasions, and propaganda to get what they want that has nothing to do in making either country secure!
Even when Israel reaches out to the Syrians for some peace, Condi Rice won’t hear of it. SHE HATES PEACE TOO.
